This is how I broke my instapot- I piled potatoes too high over a pot roast and that was the end of it. There is a fill line that’s about 2/3 of the way up that you shouldn’t pass.
@2008aa6
@2008aa6 10 месяцев назад
Well I think that line matters more for things like soups, lentils or oatmeal that tends to splatter. I don’t understand how piling potatoes a bit high would cause any malfunction.
@Amelia-qm6bk

The line is for liquids I believe.

Maybe it was just the pot roast 😂 Stick to potatoes and veggies 🤭

If you stak right up to the lid it can interfere with the pressure seal on inside of the lid

Great! When i saw your video prepping food for the week., I knew I needed to know more.. I didn't know you could put a whole bag in. I know all bags are not created equally but a small bag would be perfect and i love potatoes! Thank you!!

If someone doesn't have an Instant Pot, you can do the same method in a stockpot. I think I got the idea from Kiki after I saw how she did hers.

Thank you. Just on high with the pot lid on for 20 mins?
@cyndij8312
@cyndij8312 6 месяцев назад
@VelvetyMoon Simmer. Yes, lid on. Start with 20 minutes then check with a fork. Larger potatoes might need more time. You can take out the small ones if they're done before the big ones.

@cyndij8312

@VelvetyMoon I thought of something else to mention. It usually takes about 20 minutes for diced potatoes to steam so whole ones might take double. But start there. Be careful not to let all the water evaporate. I add enough water until it's just about at the holes in the steamer basket.

Nope. No need to poke them because the steam keeps them from exploding.😊

Anyone know if this same timing is applicable to 5 or 6 potatoes and not a 5lb bag? I JUST got an Instant Pot free, but no directions.

How long can you keep steam potatoes in the fridge? I mean how many days will they stay fresh?
@teresaclark7654
@teresaclark7654 9 месяцев назад
I keep mine for a week in a dish towel lined bowl with a lid to soak up any condensation from my fridge so the potatoes don’t get soggy. They keep great.
@live4avocados616
@live4avocados616 6 месяцев назад
I stand them up together in a square Tupperware or glass container without a lid. They do not ooze & last a week.

Please help! HOW do you get your cheese sauce so smooth??? Mine is lumpy...from the cashews I'm guessing. Any extra tips? Thanks!

I buy PB2 cashew powder, like the peanut butter powder but for cashews, and measure out what i need so it's smooth AND lower in fat - works great not just for the cheese sauce but anything you need cashews for. And the PB2 peanut butter powder is great to combine with soy sauce and maple syrup for a delicious and low fat dressing. Good luck! :)

How do re heat?microwave?
@lhmccool67
@lhmccool67 10 месяцев назад
I use the microwave. If you'd rather not, then it depends on what you want to do with them. If you want to make mashed potatoes, then you could chop them up, add some plant milk or veggie broth all in a pan on the stove and mash together while heating. If you wanted to have them like a baked potato you could put them in a covered dish with a little water to keep them from drying out, etc.

Perhaps she uses hers the same way I use my Breville Air Fryer…to reheat potatoes that have already been steamed, boiled, or baked, then cooled overnight in the refrigerator to make them more starch resistant.
