Steam engines are so Majestic to look at. It's siren sounds like thunder. It takes back me to my boyhood days. In those days steam engine locomotives were operated in railways.
Enhorabuena a quien conserva esas máquinas funcionando.
It makes me feel ancient, but I remember these actually working on the roads when I was a boy. Steam lorries too. Seriously pondering making a steamer now.
That's cos you are now officially ancient !! Join the club , lol. Yup foden, ransomes et al. Gone from everyday life but not forgotten. Life is short , get building yr steamer !🏴😷
Had to be quite the sight, I'm in the Southern US and too young to witnessed all that was good, born mid 80's. I do remember some older tractors 50's model's Ford,Massey, Deere,Farmall being used on small farms, a Farmall H that ran a Sawmill. I enjoy listening to these old beast just chug on and on, or down in that one fellars case.
@@nicke1903 you can pick and build something from that era or go even older get into steam .back in the simpler life. I'm on the hunt for a boiler now ,.lol ..
My Father-in-law had one of those here in Australia, used it right up until the mid fifties. Brought back many memories of my childhood, cutting chaff...loved it. Thank you.
Gorgeous . . . .absolutely . . . . have seen these machines working for real on the roads, harvesting wheat with a pulley, ropes and cutter and at fairgrounds . . .in the 1940's and 50's. Hats off to all involved . . .Betjeman must luv ya!
These priceless steam vehicles which actually weight values are weight of the gold are very precious world heritages. Therefore the owners of those are very fortunate ones. They must keep them well maintained and exhibit on the roads of Britain every summer like this.
Excelente, Felicitaciones.
Here on the east coast of the USA we have an organization called the “rust steam and gas association” that restores and shows old pieces of history like this
There is one in Pennsylvania called Rough and Tumble Engineers . They had shows every summer , but with this #$#&$@! pandemic I'm not sure what's happening .
Làm tôi nhớ lại, hồi còn nhỏ, tôi cũng rất hay chạy theo xe cán đường"rouleau" khi xe cán đường chạy chầm chậm qua gần chổ mẹ tôi đứng bán hàng. nhớ quá kỹ niệm.....
if there is no modern vehicles passing n people there wear 60's clothes will feel as travel through time machine. really nice to see this machines still running.
The folks here in the U. S. could learn some manners watching this , no horns honking or other rude gestures during this display of treasured machines.
Lol, what a fantastic event! I love old machinery, and steam is no exception! I am laughing to myself for hearing 'Pucker power pucker power pucker power pucker power' at the beauty Fowler @ 2:20, because, other than balls of steel, I can see that pucker-supa-powah as another attribute for going up a hill like that, even with a safety behind. Oh, at 4:20? Sounds like 'beat-box' rap :P A 'ride-along'? On my bucket list! :)
One thing for sure, that section of road is certainly well compacted and flat now! Steam sure seems like a great clean energy! Oh, but then we can't be held hostage to buy gas, oil, diesel. ...........
Antigamente havia muitos veículos movidos a vapor: tratores, trens, navios etc.
Its sarcasm. If I didn't think those were cool I woudn't click the video. We used to work on those old flywheel engines that only fired once for ever 10 or so revolutions when I was a kid. Glad to see someones keeping history alive.
Have you ever seen footage of real life driving on roads where this sort of thing was common? Car drivers, motorcyclists, and even faster trucks and buses were entirely prepared to indulge in all kinds of insane overtaking behaviour to get around the multitudes of sluggish heavy vehicles and keep up some kind of reasonable average speed. And I think if I was in a world without motorways, where most roads were like this one (or, say, the A5 or A458 through Wales), infested with traction engines and I was driving something with maybe 30 horsepower all up so every MPH was precious I'd likely end up doing the same. So it's either a strong risk of death, or be sat behind this thing doing walking pace for the next 30 minutes, only being able to pass safely right before we reach that really steep and twisty section where we'll rarely get past 2nd gear or over 30mph? ... YOLO Yeah, no, the roads are much safer these days than when these guys were common. Far, far fewer annual deaths and serious injuries despite a huge surge in passenger-miles. A steady flow at a swift but reasonable speed where no-one's getting frustrated enough that they can be bothered to try passing, or trying to carry too much speed into the corners so they can come out the other side without facing down a lengthy drag back up to cruising speed because they have bugger all accelerating power, is way less risky than the alternative.
