Caleb's backstory is HEAVY, holy hell. That was a tough emotional watch. Good acting.

I think Clementine is playing Charlotte. She has many of her mannerisms, especially her speaking patterns.

Charlotte can't be Caleb, since it has to be someone real Charlotte hurt "Why do I have to be her? She hurt us."

The only reason I can't get behind the Charlotte/Caleb theory is because of the line Charlotte says to Dolores when she first recognized who she needs to be. "Didn't she try to destroy us?" Which implies this host knew Charlotte. Caleb did not. And the fact that she knew who Bernard was when she saw the red ball. Caleb also would not have known that information at the time.

When Delores and Caleb were on the pier and she was explaining everything, I got some major Matrix vibes. Like Trinity and Neo in the punkrock bar. They keep mentioning the simulation inside the simulation. I have a feeling we're about to get mind yoinked!

Tessa Thompson showing off her acting skills this season. It wouldn't work without her great acting. The Deloris actress did say Westworld is like the acting Olympics now so everyone has to be on point. I'm enjoying the performances.

This missed the most interesting detail to me: the recording hale left for her son was different when she replayed it. The replay, happening at the end of the episode, seemed more human and emotional. The first time it was played lacked emotion and “realness” as this was likely a simulation created by Rehoboam with the second replaying being the actual recording, not a forecast/simulation created by the AI of what hale might do. The twist of the season could be that some scenes are the simulation created by rehoboam, while others are the actual reality.

I think Hale is actually Wyatt. "You belong to me" "You are the only one I trust"

I *did* get romantic vibes from Caleb and Francis from this episode. and his stats were purposefully vague and didn't mention any women, just "romantic relationship." also I can say with certainty, since Caleb got shot in 2048 and so was probably medically discharged from the army and since Francis died in 2049, that whatever job him and francis were doing wasn't military related. since the signs in the background seem to be russian and they're wearing masks, I'd have to assume it was a crime job, possibly RICO one, probably "personal". that's why Caleb isn't doing "personals" anymore.

I thought Dolores uploaded Teddy to the valley beyond at the end of season 2. How could he also be one of the pearls or in the Hale body?

I spent the whole episode assuming it was Clemantine in Charlotte. Now I just feel stupid. Thanks for the great content.

Why did Dolores had to "print out" Hale's body in Arnold's house if she already had it - Dolores exited the park in Hale's body!

Your “Caleb is Hale” theory really stuck with me I’ve been trying to connect as many things to make it work. 3 more things I noticed in this Episode: 1) Hale’s son, Nathan, tells Hale “You’re not my Mom” and “I want my Mom back” just like Caleb’s mom tells Caleb “You’re not my son” “I want my son back”. 2) The Trailer for Season 3 plays “Sweet Child od Mine” which got people talking there is a Mother/Son vibe between Dolores and Caleb (Caleb being her child) and in this Episode Dolores very obviously behaves towards Charlotte like a Mother would to her young child, especially in the hotel bedroom scene. 3) When the 2 Thugs torture Caleb for information, Caleb has flashbacks, one of which showing what is supposedly him and his partner Francis touching hands. When Charlotte chokes the pedophile she says something like “Seeing you touching my son’s hand like that made remember something.” The only time we see holding/touching hands is in Caleb’s flashback. This plot twist would be mindblowing but let’s see....

The scene where Hale is at the board meeting prompting the board to go private is early on , maybe 90 days after the Westworld massacre? So is that Hale still Dolores? Before she went back to her own body?

If Serac is not a real person then he's probably occupied by Ford's consciousness. This would explain how he was able to play the long game and slowly, quietly take control of the company. Then his copy can assume control of it and Ford is thus able to transcend death in a way.

Something continues to be eerily "off" with the "real world" that Caleb and Delores inhabit. It's full of mega-structures but there are almost no people in sight. Occasional passer-bys, and every bar or hotel lobby is full of people, but there is practically zero traffic, and no outdoor crowding. Gives credence to this world being simulation in that the system can only generate so much activity at one time. So, whenever the characters are in a room they're surrounded by simulation, then they venture into the abyss outside until they reach another populated room.

On the “Hale is Caleb” Theory: The Rehoboam circle always reminds me of the movie Arrival and the Heptapod aliens in that movie use similar circles as their sign language symbolizing their concept of time-no beginning or end, just a loop, they experience past present and future all at once. Considering Rehoboam knows everything about every person’s past and can calculate their future, you could draw a parallel- it knows everyone’s life cycle. That could possibly be some kind of way to explain Dolores creating Caleb/Charlotte and then meeting Caleb.

Caleb gives Dolores oxygen, a stem pack and I think most importantly blood as William used Lawrence’s blood to bring back Teddy in Season 1, Episode 5: ‘Contrapasso’

Charlotte said to Deloris, "why can't I be myself, you stayed the same" (or something to that effect), so Charlotte's character can't be Caleb, because Caleb did not know who she was inside the park. Holy Cow!!! This season just keeps on getting better! I love it!

When i saw the scene of diner dolores explains caleb about his childhood i thought straight away about if this whole thing could lead to a world simulation replaces by robots with the human memories...this show is amazing...its like if inception was a tv series this show is thr defintion of sci-fi

Nah, it's definitely way better if Caleb is a human and not a host. It's a less complex show if only the hosts are on the side in favor of free will/tearing down the system.

Love this episode and the timely new direction its taking. This IS, to a less sensational, but equally existential extent, our near term future. One odd thing I noticed was that the way each scene ended felt like it was designed to be followed by a commercial break. Did anyone else notice that? Regardless of that, as Ray Kurzweil has written, spoken, and proven: "The Singularity IS Near"

These circles look like the language signs used in the movie the Arrival.

Perhaps the host in Charlotte is Arnold. Their relationship is in fact the longest/ closest relationship Delores had. She knew Arnold so well, she was able to build Bernard based on him. Arnold had a son, hence that emotional feeling towards Charlotte’s son, Nathan. Just throwing that out there.......

I like the theory that Wyatt and Dolores have been split, Wyatt in Dolores' body and Dolores in Charlotte's. Given the duality with Dolores in black and Charlotte in white that is consistently throughout the episodes it would make sense that they are leading up to this reveal.

I also had an inkling that Hale is Caleb. Glad to learn I am not alone

Finally, someone else notices the arrows on Nathan's bedsheets. I wonder if what we are currently seeing is one of Rehoboam's predictions playing out in linear time. A mirror world.

I don’t get why so many people believe that Charlotte is Clementine. Delores wasn’t that close to her. The only people she really cared for was her Father, Teddy, and....Arnold. Oh sh*t‼️.

I think this is a great interpretation of this episode and I think you are right. I think Caleb is Charlotte Hale and we are looking at 2 different time lines because that is just so Westworld ish, lol.

The only problem with Caleb being in Charlotte's body theory is that when Dolores gives her the mirror Charlotte says "Why her, she tried to kill us" indicating that the 'US' are hosts. So it's a host but I don't see it being Caleb. I do like the Wyatt theory though, that would be interesting. Thanks for your videos!

This episode reminds me of an older movie called the 13th floor especially after Calebs "societal value" thing.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but in one of the earlier episodes they discuss how Teddy was created for Delores and his purpose in life was to guard and care for her. That’s why I think Charlotte might be Teddy. In this episode Delores alluded to that in her conversation with Charlotte.

Nice! Subscribed. I think the Charleb theory is fucking great, and has the most emotional impact. Had the same suspicion when Hale cried while watching the message to her son, but it didn't come together til I saw this, and those other hidden clues you spotted, like the arrows on the pillow, a symbol for Rehobo's set paths for humans (Caleb being the character we see most affected by it). S1 and S2 have both used Tarantino time fuckery to set up a big reveal. I see no reason why they wouldn't do that again, its a signature of the show at this point and something that is kind of an acquired taste in story telling (Alt Schwift X doesn't seem to like it lol). Theoretically the early events of Caleb and Dolo could have been prior to the events of Charlotte's timeline. I actually had the thought early in this ep, when Charlotte is freaking out because Dolo is ghosting her. The editing makes it seem like the reason is because of the night she is abducted and shot and meets Caleb, but all of that happens in one night, and unless she was in the hospital for a long time (doubting it, cause robot) it wouldn't account for a long enough stretch of absence for Charlotte's panic. I don't know. I like it. It doesn't really explain why they gave us the dialogue about "no one knows me like you do" and visa versa, so perhaps this is somehow a mix of both Dolo and Caleb in one pearl. Perhaps Caleb dies at some point and Dolo downloads his mind into a simulation where they mindmeld and she can quickly gain his trust and devotion and turn him into this sort of Teddy 2.0. I’m starting to think that we’re seeing Dolores program Caleb, and the flashback of his mom leaving him at the diner is his cornerstone

I really like the Dolores/Wyatt split idea for hale's body, IDK about Caleb being in there tho, since whoever's in Hale's body recognized both Bernard and Hale, unless of course there are 2 different Hale hosts for the 2 timeline theory, in which case I think the mother son connection really would pan out very well.

This Charlotte/Caleb theory is crazy.. and I love it.

One theory is that Rehoboam controls the game app too. So even criminals that reject society and go against the grain/rules are under its control. It uses the app to test for human potential. Caleb is identified as an "anamoly" in ep 1 because even he sticks out among this group (rewatch ep 1 with the criminals - Caleb calls himself an "underachiever" because he won't do personals). This explains the "I'm basic" option if Rehoboam is testing humans with the app because Rehoboam controls who sees which criminal task to opt in or opt out on.

WAIT. I HAVE A QUESTION. What happened to the CharlotteHale Host #1 that Dolores embodied while escaping Westworld during the last episode of season 2? Because clearly the current Charlotte Hale Host is #2 because Dolores, while in a new Dolores shell, made her a new shell. So there are two Charlott Hale shells now?

Is that a mole on “Charlotte “ face when she meets Delores? Remember Delores rubs her face right next to mole and says the line “nobody knows me like you do”

We know that Charlotte's storyline is about 3 months after the events of S2 finale, because that's what she says to the board in episode one. So if the Caleb storyline is in the past (maybe just a week or two after s2 finale) then who is in Charlotte's body then? There has to be someone, or everyone would notice she was missing.

Caleb is not in Hale's body. Hale knows William and bernard (she said why did you bring him, he tried to stop us). Hale must be someone from the park (a host). For now, Hale is probably Teddy.

Charlotte robot body was printed by Bernard in the park and took the boy home with Dolores inside. There would be no need to print a new Charlotte body. “Charlotte” printed a new Dolores body so that Dolores could be herself again. That’s presumably the body we see being printed-but it does look more like a Charlotte body than a Dolores one which I curious. Also weird, Dolores’s pearl would need to be removed from Charlotte’s body and placed in new Dolores’s body. But upon removing the pearl, Charlotte’s body would presumably cease to function making the transfer importable to complete. So did Dolores/Charlotte build a pearl transferring machine, or did someone help her?

When Serac is talking to 'Hale', can't he somehow examine her and see that she's not human? I feel like hosts should be easily distinguishable via some sort of scan when they are these companies are so advanced tech wise.

I think that it's Maeve. Delores assumed that she would go through with her daughter, or would be shut down (which happened) so took a copy of the one who she knows can pretend to be someone else. Also explains why Hale is so protective of her child, core programming. Maeve and Delores have been independent opposites, and Delores wanted Maeve to join her in season 2. Also Serac assumed that the anomaly She would be a great host for Hale, but would not know that Maeve would show up as herself.
