Honestly yes! Things I learned in therapy: if you keep eating cookies that don’t hit the spot because it’s « healthier » well… you’re gonna eat 20 of the not-as-good cookies instead of the 1 good good cookie and not feel good after. Glad my therapist was onto something there, even a dietician agrees ha! 😁

Incase anyone here is actually gluten free, the cookies she used as an example are actually REALLY GOOD! They taste a lot like chips ahoy and you wouldn’t be able to tell they’re gluten free! I wish they still sold them in store like this near me lol I have to order them online (worth it though)

@@RenayOpish i wouldn’t get offended, i understand her perspective as i too have had fry gluten free food but i also know there can be good ones out there. the problem is, people think gluten free is healthier so they stop eating gluten when they don’t need to and it’s not healthier - some people have issues processing gluten so they need it removed.

Love this!! I also just want to shoutout home baking your own, or otherwise non-packaged. I love geeking out on Oreos or some of those childhood favorites every once in a while, but I don’t find them as satisfying! more often I’m in the mood to just eat homemade cookie dough batter or just have those Betty Crocker style ones you bake yourself but that pull together quick. Top it off with some vanilla or whatever ice cream - THAT for me is a real cookie, that really hits my craving!

If you are actually celiac (like myself) you can find pre made/make your own gluten free cookies that are just as good. This is coming from 24 years of experience eating 97 percent gluten free. I have tried regular cookies and don’t think gluten free people should feel like they are missing out at all.

With or without celiac disease/gluten intolerance, most gluten in the processed products sold today has been significantly modified. Modern wheat is both more difficult digest and is often processed to the point the body finds it unrecognizable. Additionally, modern wheat significantly lacks in nutriontonal density and bioavailability of the body to absorb the nutrients, in comparison to ancient wheat. Making fresh baked bread and baked goods, with or without gluten, is relatively and easy and healthier! Plus, when you put the time and effort into making these foods, you become more aware and appreciative of them. That, and you avoid potentially de-regulating your dopamine system from just popping into the market whenever you want to get a 'hit' from buying junk food.

ha…kind of a miss on the comedy here as trying to seem like the funny, chill lackadaisical dietician. people come to a video like this for legitimate advice on their diet choices. many folks want to enjoy cookies, but also make better for their body choices. you might as well title this video, What Someone Who Doesn’t Care About Making Healthy Choices Looks For In a Cookie.

Cookies are not healthy, period. They're meant to be a treat. Abbey tends to encourage eating in moderation. It's also true (studies have proven) that people tend to consume more of something they think is "healthier," both because of flavor, and the perception that it's healthy. They end up consuming more calories than if they'd just gotten the "unhealthy" cookies they really wanted to begin with.

Love love me a good cookie, I started making my own and freeze them in snack bags. Take a oatmeal cookie mix from the store (or oatmeal with chocolate chips tummies) add some pecans (required if you are from Texas) add more cinnamon. Now am I doing this for health reasons nope my favorite cookie has always been oatmeal with pecans and chips. The bag mix makes up 12 to 24 depending on size or if I am using muffin tins. Now I have been known for using cooked apples 🍎 instead of chocolate. I know a walk on the dark side.

You can keep those chewy, off the shelf disks that taste like cardboard doused in poison. Yes, I do hate chewy Chips Ahoy that much. If you do have allergies, and are into chewy cookies, the brand Rulebreaker makes pretty decent cookies. Also, if you can find Sweet Loren's, its a refrigerated cookie dough, its very good. Seriously. Its even break and bake.
