I find this information very interesting. I have always been curious about the process that one goes through . I didn't realize it was so involved, You work so hard to give the best outcome at a very emotional time . Thank You , Kari, You are so kind. Luv Ya !!

Absolutely! Six point injections have been a standard in embalming for quite some time. You are a very well experienced embalmer to have knowledge of this phase of embalming. Keep up the good work!

Thank you again Kari for the lesson! Wow, there is so much that goes into embalming! It’s a lot more complicated than I think any of us thought! Have a great day!♥️

This is very good information. It is because of you that the general public is finally realizing that our work can often be very involved. Depending on what is involved with the care and preservation of the deceased our work can be intense from time to time! Thanks for all you do Kari! Oh by the way, you need to establish your own operation!

Kari im sure someone has asked this before and i apologize if you answerd it allready. When you first started did it creep you out at all. I can picture me talking to them and saying im sorry when i stiched their mouth or did the eye caps but the worst part for me would be seeing them naked. I know they have passed but i often wonder if their spirit is watching what your doing. Besides draing the blood i think the very worst would be shoving those plug things in you know where. My daughter is 22 and thinking about doing this line of work. So she asked me to ask whats the worst part of. Thank you for the edication you share with us. Much love from Utah.

Hello Kari, let me understand this process better, the more embalming fluid used on the body the more you will slow the decomposition of the body down. I was thinking about why the legs so much, they are going to be covered in most cases also I've seen gloves on hands as well, is it easier to make more injections rather than massaging the embalming fluid into the extremities.

@@KaritheMortician thank you now I have a better understanding, I suppose anatomy is one of the courses you have to take and ace, blood clots I imagine can be a problem at times.

Have you ever had to do a 8 or 10 point injection on extremely rotund or obese individuals? Isn't it true that heavier cases require more injection sites?

Sometimes I wonder if embalmers FOCUS on the parts of the body that will be seen. Meaning if you dug that body up after 5-10yrs, the face would be perfect but if you removed their clothing it would be a different story.....
@Beereadshorror
@Beereadshorror 5 лет назад
A lot of it has to do with autopsy and donations as well. If there are severed arteries and veins the embalmer will have to raise more. Not necessarily focusing on the face and hands etc. The goal is to ensure every bit is preserved even if it isnt seen

Why would the lower part of the body need to be pointed, like the leg location? No one will see the feet of the deceased.

Recently, when my aunt passed away ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d0TCCvnLUBU.html ) she was kept for about 2 weeks before the funeral could be held. Her son, my cousin was adjusting the sleeve on her blouse and we came across something that was quite alarming. The skin underneath the blouse was pitch black as far down as you could see. He said it was the remnants of all the bruising from all the IVs she'd been on prior to her passing. Shouldn't the embalming have cleared that up?
@MissUnderstood-yi1zm
@MissUnderstood-yi1zm 5 лет назад
I'm pretty sure that embalming wouldn't have corrected that but I'm no mortician. I think any bruising would have to be covered up with makeup which they wouldn't do on her arms if her shirt was covering them for viewing. Again, I may be wrong.
@stevejarrettnc
@stevejarrettnc 5 лет назад
Alynn H The thing is, it was 100% jet black, all the way around the arm, not just patchy bruising. It was quite disturbing. We'd have never known if we hadn't looked, but we did.
@adriansims1596
@adriansims1596 5 лет назад
Embalming wouldn't have cleared the spot . Makeup would've had to be used.
@MissUnderstood-yi1zm
@MissUnderstood-yi1zm 5 лет назад
@@stevejarrettnc I'm honestly not certain what would have caused the entire arm to be jet black. That's certainly, as you know, not typical of just some simple IV's. No professional here but without seeing exactly what you saw it's hard to really gauge exactly how it looked & its location. Could have been some other type of life saving measures or difficulties right before death with getting IV in. Possibly tried in elbow area multiple times, forearm & wrist area for it to be such a large area the bruising may have covered. Sorry for your friend though, must've been incredibly shocking & sad to see. Was there a serious trauma that occurred causing her death or something sudden that might've required aggresibe life saving measures or was it something like cancer where she was in the hospital awhile?
@bren-b5095
@bren-b5095 5 лет назад
My understanding is that it's just the natural decomposition. My brother in law was embalmed and his service was a week past when he died. The day of his service his fingers were turning black. There is really only so much they can do before you get to the point nothing can be done.

@brendastewart14
@brendastewart14 5 лет назад
I left it on kari@karinorthey.com. You responded. Thank You! It was about a heartbreaking situation in Mobile/Prichard Alabama. Funeral director arrested. Authorities exhuming remains. Water in vault/grave liners and caskets. One individual was buried only inches from the top of the ground. Smell of human decomposition. These graves were not very old. Illegal Cemetery and the list goes on. The authorities are starting to back tracking to other cemeteries in the area. In the State of Alabama, a individual does not have to be embalmed nor is a casket required for burial but, certain steps have to be taken in the process. These families asked for embalming, a casket and burial in a vault.
