Giving arrma the opportunity to fix it, before making the problem puplic, earns a lot of respect imo. Nowadays everyone wants to make headlines, even its for the bad of other people. Everyone forgets about that there are actually humans, who assemble these cars, or construct it. Everyone can make a mistake, giving the one the opportunity to fix it, is a sign of humanity, which is sadly shown too rarely

The V1 Kraton was a bomb, but running updates and improvements through to the V4 have made it the perfect basher. Let’s hope the same evolution happens with the K8S.

I am looking at getting a RC after a 2.5 year hiatus and going to get back into it with a 5th scale. This video cemented my thoughts on staying away from the Kraton 8s. I now will more than likely go with the DBXL-E 2.0 even though it's more expensive initially, once you add up the necessary upgrades that the Kraton needs the Losi is a bargain.

I don't think I've said this here yet, but you are 100% right on scale. The math proves it's definitely not 1/5. It's actually a tad under 1/6 scale. So, much respect earned for pointing that out. Kind of a shame that error hasn't been corrected yet by Arrma.

Great points and honesty, I thank you for this. I kept quiet about the Kraton 8S and never ever thought I had to have one when I saw it reviewed and running. I have 4 Arrma models and love all of them, 2 are 3S and 2 are 6S and I want to add a Kraton 6S and maybe a Mojave to my collection but not a Kraton 8S and for a lot of the reasons you confirm in this update video.

Just ordered a notorious to go with my 6s kraton after sitting on the fence about this kraton. Decided to wait for v2 or later to get into the king kraton because I was seeing issues with the first ones. Love my 6s kraton and know I'll love the noto. It's crazy that arrma would treat a reviewer that way. The proper course of action would have been for them to pay to have the truck shipped in an expedited manner while at the same time cross shipping you a new one. It honestly sounds like they just slow rolled you while telling you not to tell people about it so they could wait until the initial hype died down. Which I guess was smart on their end because they've already sold a bunch of them before anyone was aware of the bending issues.

Arrma is lucky to have you. Someone that is honest. And not just a Yes Man. Great video and arrma is definitely still on top for me.

Good review, bro. I understand your reasons for waiting with this story, although I think you mentioned most of it last year already in the review/run (several time you mentioned that you thought there was some punch/power missing) and the studio tour (the story about bending and sending the car to UK) combined. So nothing unexpected and I think you already told the truth last year. But your opinion about the Scale was new to me. Didn't even know it was promoted as a 1/5th scale. I was more thinking the X-maxx/No-Scale/1/6th scale. And it was nice to hear your final conclusion about the car, though it was to be expected. Will be interesting to see how Arrma will adress these reviews coming in. Not writing this up yet. I remember the X-Maxx's reception in the beginning. Everybody complaining about it being underpowered with the 6S. And ESC's on fire. But all resolved now and many people have it as their favorite car now. Arrma could find similar solutions to this one. Chassis. Brace. Electronics. Weight. Tuning of diffs etc. Maybe in one year the version 2 or 3 will become the favorite car of many. Let's see :-)

So refreshing to see an honest review of this car, me and my son have two 3S rigs and love them but ever since it was announced and first running videos came out for the money this was pretty underwhelming and badly flawed. Especially considering how much you rate the brand it was no doubt a tough video to make so a big thumbs up from me 👍🏻 should make your views on the Xmaxx even more interesting as your overall view of the brand couldn’t be anymore opposite!

Thanks for taking the time to put yourself out there with an honest overview. I agree with the general sentiment but even after spending the additional money to upgrade it I still really like it, mostly because the handling is so enjoyable for the terrain I live in. Even though I love it I'd only recommend for a dedicated mod path oriented hobbyist, not someone who wants a turn key rtr.

I dont have that car but I was already on your side with the k8s. I had just bought K6s v4 roller and customized/upgraded it to what I wanted. Your review actually helped me know what needed upgrading. In total spent about $900 us. It's a beast, btw. Then I heard they were coming out with an 8s for about that price and thought, "dang! I could have gotten the 8s instead if I had just waited!" Then I saw your running video of the 8s and immediately knew I had spent my money on the right thing. Underwhelming is perfect word. And to find out it's not even very durable! Love arrma cars, but they have some work to do on the 8s. Thanks for your honesty and great rc videos.

Good job Vas saw this coming after the "armpit" comment and criticism about not fixing it yourself. I watched your workshop video like you suggested to here what happened. I know it's hard but don't let them get to you. You do a great job and people don't don't think about what you might be going through personally and especially the tragic fires that engulfed your country. Lost my mom 2 years ago and know the pain and mental anguish of losing a parent. All we can do is move forward the best we can Cheers Vas!

Your honesty is appreciated. I considered buying a Kraton 8s but when I compared it to the Losi DBXL-E 2.0 the choice was easy. The Losi came with a true 1/5 scale motor (8mm shaft) I'm sure the next Kraton 8s will be on point...

Vas, I hope you read this. As a new person to ARRMA, and rc all together I look to you and other you tubers very highly for info and real world experience with these cars before I buy. You just put into words exactly what I was thinking about this truck, I wondered why the main guys running this truck were basically swapping out everything but the shocks and arms. 💸💸💸💸 love my kraton 6s but as far as the consumer goes your view is spot on. Your right on point as always with your critique about durability and electronics. Hopefully Arrma will not disappoint us and update the kit and keep it at the same level as all the other vehicles in the brand. Now.....after all this time I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the XMAXX. I know your love/hate for Traxxas but you can’t deny the XMAXX has something special about it. Great stuff Vas 👊!!!! So sorry you've had a rough go with the Kraton 8s 👀. Regardless of what scale they call it, I'm happy with the overall size. To my surprise, the mod 1 drivetrain has been flawless. The pinions are readily available here anyways. I agree 100% the truck is very undergeared out of the box 🤣. I too eventually bent my top brace and rear chassis. It was easy to repair, and didn't have another issue after bolstering the top brace with simple carbon fiber 14 x 12mm tubing. I also had no heat issues running with a 23T plus tuning my diffs and venting the tires, punch 5, 7.5 timing advance. I'm fairly certain ARRMA will make changes following this initial 8s release. The platform has loads of potential and handles amazing. 🍻👍👍😎💪👊👊

It's a lemon. That is a fact. Glad I decided to wait to see what the next few versions will be like.

Thanks for the honesty. I have several Arrma cars and I love them but I never got the Kraton because I have felt that the chaise is to long and not thick enough and will bind.
