I did went “all in” about two years ago. I was a college athlete and was eating nothing for how much I was working out. I can really attest that food is boring now. I get excited for meals that I like but the drive to eat insane amounts of food is gone. So grateful for my body and Its ability to recover

That was/is me . Lord I know when I was 79 pounds and I tried eating again , cuz Wigh the threat of Covid that it was goanna wipe away my malnourished ass. But I rmbr being ALWAYS hungry . I ate from morning to night and my stomach would be beyond full physically but I was ALWAYS hungry . Thank gosh I had this quarantine to just replenish myself morning to night instead of worrying about school and work and stuff like that . Everything really happens for a reason . But I rmbr when I was restricting food would ALWAYS be on my mind . I used to ONLY talk about good to people . I used to watch other people Mukbang on RU-vid at 3 in the morning with my stomach growling . And I used to crave foods that I never liked as a kid and would never eat because I just needed FOOD . I would crave raw bread and warm milk , something I never liked as a kid . And now that I’m eating regularly and gained my weight back to like 117 pounds , I don’t crave those things any more . I’m so glad my hunger cues are normal now 😭🙏🏼

@@Noodles-xy4mj im in that situation rn although my weight is a good 20 lbs heavier than yours. what made you wanna recover? all i think about is food, dream abt food, i have a food vid playlist on my channel. man the obsession because of my ed is real

@Noodles-xy4mj 3 года назад
@@sofiastar2933 girl I kid you not that was me . I used to watch those “all Nutella eating challenges “ or like those intense mukbangs where they eat all thing peanut butter yada yada . Watching them eat made me feel like I ate them in a weird way . What made me recover were a bunch of things . I realized although skinny is the ideal in society and I always wanted to be skinny , people actually thought I looked sick and for lack of better words “icky” . Then there was the aspect I got so so weak . I always loved boxing and working out so I could be stronger . Knowing I could carry 4 to 8 grocery bags in one trip was satisfying . It made me feel badass xD . But when I got weak lord even moving the blender made my back and arms hurt for two days . I hated it . And then there was the looming fear of covid . It’s so prevalent and being underweight , I knew it was goanna wipe away my 79 pound ass in no jiffy . After all lack of food puts ur immune system on halt. And then one big big reason was school . School has always been a top priority for me , even more than my health . And not because I have the looming expectations of my parents , they couldn’t care less . It was for my personal goals . Lack of food esp carbs pretty much makes u stupider 😂 ur brain is the only picky organ that can only derive energy from carbs . Everything else takes what it gets . So low sodium low carbs low sugar low everything diet and surviving on a couple of strawberries and cucumber and some espresso shot made me dizzyyyy, my attention was lacking and it was just bad . So so bad . But I’ll be honest . Recovering was SO MUCH more painful. There comes a point in ur ED where u go numb . U don’t feel the pain x once u start eating and ur organs use the energy from the food to repair itself , u start getting ur senses in a way back . And that’s when u start to feel the damage of ur bod . I put all exercise in half and just ate day until night . The body aches last for months , I could barely walk . But it gets better it always does . You just have to persistent with your food and rest . You deserve it : your body deserves . Eat as much as u can . Ed can literally kill u. Plus all that fat is there for a reason to protect ur darn organs . Fuck aesthetics . Do I wanna life a risky and shortened life just for people to think oh u so prettty , wow I love ur collarbones , wow u got a flat stomach . Or do I wanna like a safe and long life eating the food I love cuz it makes me happy and experiencing the world WHILE PPL STILL THINKING IM PRETTY cuz when ur eating and glowing u just naturally seem more attractive . Gahhhh i have so much more to type but I don’t wanna overwhelm u 😂

I can’t believe there was a time where I felt bad for just having a turkey sandwich for breakfast. Instagram/RU-vid diet culture and my obsession with it really, r e a l l y messed with my brain for a long time and it’s hard to undo all that and to re-learn that it’s okay to have anything other than smoothies or plain oats for breakfast. I really appreciate the effort you put into this video, you’re the first creator I’ve seen on RU-vid who included other examples for the same meals. Stephanie, I just want to let you know you have inspired me to heal myself from my eating disorder problem. I am a serious aneroxic and I am very very scared to eat. I am way too thin for my height and everyone around me is telling me so but I never think I am thin enough. I weigh everything I eat and I weigh myself multiple times every day. My period has been literally gone for a few months and my hair falls like crazy. I am very ill, I know it, still I am so scared to be "normal" again. I exercise 6 times a week because I think I don't deserve to eat food that I like if I don't work out. I came upon your video about 2 weeks ago and you were undergoing quite the same situation as mine and you have really made me feel that gaining weight is fine. I love food and I actually have a big appetite. I want to look as pretty and eat as I like like before. My husband is encouraging me to eat and he always tells me he will love me even if I grow fat. I have started to try changing since just 1 week ago but to be honest, I am still very very afraid of gaining weight, even 1 pound. Can you please help?

hi there! hope you’re continuing in your recovery journey, i’m currently going through mine and I would highly suggest going to a doctor and maybe start with a meal plan at first because all in was very intimidating especially going from extreme restriction to allowing yourself everything! maybe start with a breakfast lunch and dinner until you start feeling hungry again, maybe let your husband make each meal to take that pressure off of you and then once you’re hungry and motivated allow yourself whatever whenever, i started my journey about a month ago and now even if i didn’t want to eat my body wouldn’t let me..i feel so much better and actually hungry and will most likely go all in next month or the month after that when i’m fully ready to let go. recovery is so worth it, and i was the same with exercise and now my body is too tired to get out of bed sometimes, it’s crazy what our bodies can do during survival mode but once you start getting food you realize how much damage you truly did. i wish you the best of luck :)
@caitlinm1874
@caitlinm1874 3 года назад
also, don’t forget to heal your mind because healing your body is only a part of it...if you can go to therapy i would highly suggest that as a first step and if not i would suggest speaking to a loved one about your fears and listen to what they have to say with your brain not your eating disorders brain...your loved ones and doctors/therapists aren’t out to get you/for you to get “fat” and want you to be healthy, anorexia is extremely dangerous and at 21 years old it lead me to almost have a heart attack please take care of yourself it’s not worth it ❤️

Stephanie, the most important thing is your health and happiness. To see you feeling like you’re achieving those things is all that matters, regardless of what your old videos were like. Showing realistic achievements actually targets a larger audience (says the 48 year old, slightly overweight mom of a 19 and 15 year old)! You are allowed to put yourself and your mental health first. Tune out the voices of those who have nothing constructive to say, and those who have nothing but hate to add. Focus on YOU and YOUR happiness, Queen. You deserve nothing less. 💖

Steph, I feel like you have been so hard and difficult on yourself throughout you All In journey. It may not be the mainstream method, but you have identified a new method to heal extreme hunger and you looked absolutely amazing throughout the journey. I hope you have taken the time to absorb your journey and accept that you should really be so proud of yourself to do this publicly and stick with it even though there was so much negativity. You have a beautiful heart and soul, and only you know what is right for you. Jeff was by your side the whole way because he knows you are a so intellectual and you know what you’re doing. You are so amazing and inspirational - please ignore any negativity and accept the pride in yourself that you should see. I see it in you, and my wish is for you to as well. All light, love and happiness to you for being so strong emotionally. You were so vulnerable, and have taught so many people to allow themselves to be as well. We care about who you are, but above all we care about your happiness and health. It seems that you have or are so close to achieving optimal health for your unique body and situation. Thank you for being raw, genuine, kind and open xxx 💕

Hi Stephanie, I've been watching your journey from the start and it's really helped me with my ED. Just wanted to let you know that it is fine to lose weight, fine to gain weight or fine to stay the same. I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with the anxiety - I had really bad anxiety after a stressful year and really struggled with sleeping etc. I'd wake up every morning with a heavy feeling in my stomach. I vowed to cut out as much stressful crap from my life as possible and also tried to be as gentle as possible with myself. I can't remember the last time I felt anxious 😄 It will go away. You just need to have a long period of peace so you're not in constant fight or flight mode.

@@thedarkphoenix1640 Elsa is 7 years old (one criticism is that she seems much older, but I forgive that by pretending she's a precocious 10). She doesn't fit in, except with her grandmother. I always was skeptical over how eating to satiety wouldn't make you pack on the pounds forever but then once I actually did it, I realised my appetite was nowhere near where I thought it would be. I've also tried carb cycling and it's been pretty great so far! I eat until I'm full and focus on mainly nutritious, tasty and filling foods, high carb intake on some days but high fat on other days. In the first week I lost a kilo :0, but I never starved myself. Your videos really taught me NEVER deny yourself food when you know you're hungry, it won't do your hunger any good. (This won't work for everyone but I've found that this works really well for me and me particular, so don't take what I said and think it'll be the same for you. I'll come back with more results, if I get any. Fingers crossed :3)

i just have to say your whole journey has been the #1 helpful thing for me in terms of eating disorder recovery. its inspires me a ton to wanna have a healthy relationship with food. ive been following you since 2018 and i love all your videos, but at one point i considered unfollowing you only because i would feel triggered to wanna get super thin & would convince myself i need to eat way less and wanted the "self control" you had. when you went all in that took me by surprise & knowing that you were struggling with food and hunger was so relieving to me since i felt like ok im not the only one after all, this is a normal response from calorie restriction. i always watched your videos and instagram stories about how your journey is going and over time it inspired me to wanna eat more and feel healthy. now, whenever i feel triggered by my eating disorder thoughts i watch your all in videos to help give me a little boost of inspiration to help me continue my journey with having a healthy relationship with food. i just wanna say thank you soooo much for sharing your journey. i used to feel so helpless but watching your journey has saved my life.

I ate hardly any carbs for 7 months due to severe bloating and stomach pains. It helped my body calm down immensely, but I also experienced fatigue. I was never thin, always in the healthy range for someone my height, but the loss of energy was terrifying. Then late last year I moved and started eating carbs again, moving less and craved chocolate almost every day. Needless to say, I gained 10kgs. But I feel way more healthy and have enough energy to work out every other day again! I struggle with eating enough sometimes though, and I don't have a lot of appetite and zero cravings at the moment, while my weight has been stable for the last few months. Maybe my body is slowly balancing itself out again :) Thank you for helping me understand what is happening!!
