Whenever I hear Dr. Berg speak about cod liver oil it takes me back to the days when I was in my 20's and worked as an Exhibit Interpreter on the L.A. Dunton at Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut. I was one of the people that answered questions that visitors had - anyway, the Dunton was a fishing schooner from 1890-something, and the fishermen most often caught cod. They would filet them right there on the deck and put the livers into a bucket, and my job would always be to ask, "Do you know why they saved those?" The older adults would smile or roll their eyes and the younger people would always give me blank stares. Nowadays it has been coming back, but it is flavored and much more palatable. I think it is also available as capsules.
GLA improved my atopic dermatitis like crazy -totally cured it. Also improved my mother’s rheumatoid arthritis. This should be prescribed as mandatory supplement
@@OrlenaGEstradaIt’s fine to take those together, it’s the omega 6 in certain oils you want to avoid. Evening Primose and Borage oil are what you want to take.
No, he is saying that the 0mega 6 which contains the GLA is good for you, but it sounds like he wants us to take omega 3 foods with the omega 6 foods and combine them.
Thanks so much for this information. On my list for my next order. Have been using plant based supplements for years now. Borage oil will find itself in my regular routine. Only an extra .06 a day. At 58 yrs old, most mistake me for my late 40's. With 7 adult children and 11 grandchildren under 11, I plan on hanging around a while. Thanks Doc. for your life extending information.
A bit of research I've done (yes I'm not a doctor) Omega 6 in large doses is great but it's a inflammatory and Omega 3 is needed to combat against the side effect of omega 6. That's why you need more Om'3 than Om'6 to regulate. I love your work btw but have heard others say this.
Hello Dr. Berg It surprises me that you forgot to mention the best source for this: Linen Seed Oil 45%-71% Omega 3 and 12%-24% GLA It is called Lin-Ole-Nic for a reason. Linenseed Oil is quite como (but expensive) here in Germany. I am eating about 3 Tablespoons full every week and am convinced it does me good. I love your channel and the fix the underlying cause approach
FANTASTIC!!! As usual highly informative and straight to the point. Thank you so much for making us healthier, wiser, slimmer and most importantly, PRETTIER!!!
Meatloaf made with riced cauliflower instead of crackers or bread, and vegetables including tomatoes fried in healthy omega 6 oil? These are things I’m going to try. Cod baked on a bed of vegetables with lots of garlic and lemon and one of the 4 heathy omega 6 oils. Slightly less processed deli meat as a wrap for tacos. Homemade sausage and egg bake. And take vitamin D3 and K2 as supplements. I know your message was 3 years ago, but I hope this helps anyway. I’m going to try these things.
Last time i got no period for 4 months.. and I took Blooming G its borage oil supplement.. and surprisingly Got my menstruation in just taking it for 1 month..
I’m going to start this and keto. I’m 5’0 and 238 lbs. I just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My brother, father, maternal grandmother, cousins, uncles everyone pretty much have been diagnosed with diabetes and heart disease. For some reason I was diagnosed much later, maybe due to how active I was. Now that I have 4 kids, 12, 7,6, and 4, I’ve been very sedentary, covid making it even worse, and I’m a smoker. I’m going to give up everything but smoking at first, and then give up smoking when I think I have a handle on the keto (no cheating). I was thinking of going carnivore to start, with two days water fasting per week, but I’m not sure if it’ll work. And the quality of meats I have access to is not great, Walmart, but I’m going to ask some farmers around town if I could buy eggs and meat straight from them. Wish me luck! I want to be around for my kids!
Hi Doc! I found your channel a couple months ago, subbed & have valued your advice! I am AfAmerican 42, 5'9, 206lbs, diabetic w/ HBP, High Cholesterol etc. I know now inflammation from my diet is the issue. I am working on integrating more potassium rich food sources. My question to you is. . . What's your opinion of Black seed oil? Should I implement it?
Thank you very much Dr Berg for clearing up the information that lacks a practical view in most web sites. Also about Vitamin C complex, there is almost no information and confusion with ascorbic acid that is not vitamin C as 99% of medical Doctors and nutritionist believe.
Dr. Berg, I am always thankful for all your videos. I am hesitating about GLA since I've read that increase cancer risk? Do you have a video explaining about GLA risks please? Many thanks!
Thank you Dr. Eric, having seen your chart, I know now that I'm on the right track but would Evening Primrose oil help in weight loss? Would appreciate your feedback.
The supplements I see at my local vitamin shop only contain 30 to 70 mg of GLA and webmd recommends 380-500mg. Any idea where to get a proper supplement?
Sir, I have been taking a pill which contains 10 mg of GLA for the past 4 days. I have lost 1 kg weight without going to gym or doing anything at all.Can you please tell me what is going on ?
Dr Berg, Another request- Please do a video on Keto & Vegetarian & IF. As I can't seen to stomach dairy, or meat any more especially red meat! Plant based with nuts & seeds So just worried i am getting all my daily allowance as quite active with exercise.
Dr Eric Thank You So Much for all that you put into the Health Videos. My wife and I Love Them!!! They are really helping alot. God Bless You and Your Family!!!!
@@blueberry7595our food & bodies are rated on a PH scale. Acidic foods breed all disease. Alkaline foods starve & reverse disease. Basically it’s eating a lot of greens, no sugar. I went all in out of fear & determination and within 3 months my concerning sized cysts were nothing. I slowly added more of the good things but no doubt it’s the way to go! Google can help with food charts. You can do it too! Best to you.
@@blueberry7595 yes to both. Healthy fats with balance of omega 6 & 3’s. Grass fed organic meats in moderation to keep alkaline balance. Sugar is death & those omega 6 oils so popular today (even in Whole Foods prepared foods!)
Greetings. I am looking to take the least amount of supplements as I can. Is there one or two supplements I can take daily that cover the gamut of health benefits? Like say can I just take for example magnesium citrate and evening primrose oil for stress, hormonal balance, sleep, and energy/libido? With all of the supplements out there it is very overwhelming and I don't want to take everything I read or hear about.
I love watching your videos dr , but the only things you never answered my questions , and I have question today for you about evening primrose oil, I’m 61 years old; I lost so much of my hair after menopause and now I started taking primrose oil and my question is I feel pain on my scalp and loosing hair again , and I’m concerned if this product can cause cancer and for how long can we take this 🙏🏻
I'm not familiar with primrose oil causing cancer - you may need to research that. Here's a video that may help ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M1zphh8YzD8.html
I have recently started taking Borage oil that Dr. Berk has recommended, Natural Nutra Borage oil, and it keeps me awake. I feel much better on it, but I can't sleep. I don't want to stop taking it. Should I use a 3-6-9 supplement instead, perhaps balance me out better? What brand would you recommend?
No, quite the opposite is what I just researched. I have fibrous breast tissue, my doctor refused a mammogram for me recently, so I did research. Evening primrose with iodine is the cure. Along with cutting out caffeine and chocolate because of oxalates. I've been doing this for less than a week, and I feel less pain in my breast tissue, less pain in my ovaries, better skin... etc. If it does lead to cancer, please let me know.
I have anxiety and depression and I am on 1 mg of klonopin and the doctor also said I should take Benadryl when I wake up in the night....it is making me feel sick all of it and now he wants me to go on Lexapro.....I am 76.....will taking Borage oil help with anxiety and depression and will it conflict with the klonopin....HELP!
please tell me what oil should I take. my skin is very very dry it looks like a coconut tree sounds funny. I tried putting lotion but it is not good. some time its start itching, especially when I come from the shower. please let me know which oil is better to consume. someone recommended getting evening primrose oil (1300mg) (women's health) a natural source of GLA. but is it good for men?
American Made oneplace You should get some Cod Liver oil and try not to shower with hot water. Also, if you take a shot of apple cider vinegar in the morning it helps balance out your skin. Don't forget to drink lots of water. Try to find some pure Aloe Vera liquid and apply it on your skin after you shower, it works best when your skin is still damp.
