I've been using Pinnacle Signature Wax for quite a while, I know there are probably plenty of products that give higher gloss and easier to apply. I do find for me it's more about the whole process of applying then polishing and then looking at to finished product, I just find it more relaxing. Thanks for this excellent look and breakdown of these waxes.

Good comparison Sandro. That Scholl Wax on the black panel really stood out. I noticed the darkness and shine even before you started talking about how much better it looked compared to the others. I am one of the few left that still likes the look of a wax on my paint and enjoy waxing my car. I have always liked the P21S. Been using that for years. So easy to apply and remove and great gloss. Durability isn't great, but that's OK because it's so easy to apply and remove, just do it once a month and you are good to go.

I think you’d be surprised how much company you have with your use and love of waxes! Traditional waxes just aren’t anything new so it’s harder to push them as innovative, latest and greatest things. But there’s a reason they’re still around and actually still the most popular form of paint protection world wide by the general population - they’re usually very affordable, easy to use, widely available and look and feel great!

For durability, chemical resistance, slickness and wax on/wax off experience, Fusso Coat. For all of the above and outstanding gloss, throw in a coat of Ethos Resist after a day or so. Sonax BSD is a great alternative and my winter go-to topper for FC. I get top of the shelf, coating-like water behaviour that lasts 12 months+ without the coating hassle.

I bought some Swissvax wax a while back (12 months ago approximately) and I just never gelled with it. I found it hard to wipe off and it didn’t last any decent length of time. It was pretty much dead after 4 weeks. This was probably my error each time I used it. I prepped my panels and waited for it to haze but just couldn’t get a “good” user experience out of it. Compared to my old pot of dodo juice hard candy which I got at a fraction of the price, it wipes the floor with it everytime. I suppose that’s what makes the detailing world great! Everyone has their own wee favourites and go to’s with any products. Not just waxes! Awesome video as always Sandro! I’m a big fan of the wax comparisons. So interesting!

Great review Sandro. In my humble opinion, all of these waxes are for enthusiast clientele that want to spend it. I do enjoy a special depth that waxes can bring to a paint finish. But I'm not going to buy any of it because my vehicle's can look stunning with a $30 paint sealant that lasts far longer. If that is what the clientele wants, it should be made available to them...
@Brian_N

Interesting look back at Nuba waxes. It’s been a while for me too haha. However to get technical aren’t Scholl Vintage and Swissvax shield more hybrid waxes? I know shield contains PTFE and Vintage says made with the finest “natural and man made” ingredients. Whereas I believe the p21s and pinnacle are more or less “natural” waxes? I have owned everything on your list minus the scholls. Then had swissvax best of show instead of shield. I agree that swissvax smelled amazing like passion fruit I think? If you have access to it I would try Zymol Glasur it’s more of their mid range wax. It has the best durability and beading of any “natural” wax I have owned. But I suspect they Zymol may have put polymers in it too cause there is no way a completely natural wax should behave that way lol Thanks for the videos as always! It’s like half an hour or zen or mediation for me during the week to just calm down and relax. :)
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Really glad you enjoyed the video mate! You may be right about a bit of hybrid or synthetic influences in those waxes but I always also thought Souveran wax did as well due to it’s almost instant bonding to the paint but it’s actually quite hard to define “hybrid” as it seems to change and mean more SiO2 or graphene influxes these days, so maybe it would have been better to say old school lol. There’s been quite a few nominations for Zymol waxes so I’ll try and include one in the next wax comparison!

Sandro, Came back to offer another idea that I think a lot of fans would appreciate and benefit from. Use case- “I like waxes and don’t like coatings. Waxes don’t last. I’m fine with sealants. I don’t know what order or combination works when applying that gives me shine and duration.” For example- I’ve used FK1000P on a few cars for the last month. Looks understated and elegant, and has amazing resistance…but it just doesn’t have that mirror-like pop. Can you think about this problem set and offer some proven combinations/pairings/techniques you’ve learned over the years? Thanks again for the great content.

@andrewvickers4487 Год назад
@@kylechow6072 Cool, seems that way to me too just going on the reviews. It's the dark looks combined with the layering ability that I haven't found reported for any other sealant or coating (I'm not interested in the 3yr+ stuff but I also like a little more durability than show waxes provide). Wolfgang's Uber Silica Spray may be the only comparable one that I know of, but my money's on Lustre for even more - lustre :) EDIT: I've just discovered Xtreme Solutions PolySeal - appears to be another of the same ilk with killer looks. Apparently it can be combo-ed with their Magnum Wax for 12 months durability. Since they're all very similar I'm guessing fans of Lustre could layer that on top instead, if desired (and all three designed to be stacked it seems). Just FYI for future views

i went with your wax suggestion recently (poorboys). applied just once so cant say too much about it yet. i like it and/but i'm in for more to fill up/renew my stash. koch chemie handwax, collinite 915, vonixx blend or native, s99 authentic, infinity wax primo, gyeon wax. not sure if any make the traditional wax category of this segment. i'm no religious purist in first place and aint planning to become one and know too less about it to categoize them anyways. basically i'm only in for the looks mainly and a lil bit how it looks when it ages on the paint and how quick the look deteriorate when that happens. generally i dont care about hydrophobics at all. if it rains, it gets dirty, if its dirty, i wash. i dont get the tight beads point as quality criterium as it is today at all - generally about any product not only waxes. that being said, fixation on beads are for me the most stupid internet thing about car care there is - imho. if one makes the cut, i'm happy, if not, i'll watch redardless and still be happy. greetings mate. good luck

Thanks Sandro, I ceramic coat everything but I do love the look of a good wax. Would you use any of these waxes as a topper to any ceramic coat just to get that wet look ?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
I wouldn’t tend to use them on a coated customers car, but I’ve certainly used them on my own cars over coatings. As long as you appreciate and accept that these waxes aren’t going to mimic a coatings performance it’s fine to use them in that case.

Hey I wonder if wax below ceramic would be better, wax being like lotion on your hands and ceramic being like putting on a latex glove.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
The issue with waxing first it that the coating will tend to have bonding issues so it may not last very long.
@z-muny3256

Hhhhmmm. . .May not huh? So theres still a chance lol. . Carnuaba wax raw pretty much loves anything, synthetic or not idk if bonding would be an issue.

The saturation levels and slickness of the Scholl's look very similar to the NXT Tech Wax 2.0 you reviewed in the past, can you comment on the similarities/differences of the two?. The pinnacle sovereign was very disappointing considering the altar which has been built for it.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
It’s hard to compare them with doing a direct comparison, but I would agree that the Scholl wax did have some more sealant qualities found in NXT Tech wax and they could very well be quite competitive in many areas!

Great video. I have used a spray on wax on my car prior to using SiO2 spray sealants. What I had noticed is the wax provided a deeper colour gloss than the spray sealants I have used. Spray sealants are more convenient, but in your opinion, do you think waxes bring out a deeper colour from the paint? I have a Lapiz Blue Golf R and I'm thinking of stripping all the protestants and starting again. Just wondered what you thought? Also thinking of going down the ceramic coating path aswell.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
I don’t think it’s as clear cut as waxes vs sealants or even coatings in that area. In my experience it’s a very specific products thing, some waxes will be better and worse than sealants and vice versa. It’s also very misleading these days as what a “wax” or “sealant” really is - it’s almost like if you make a synthetic sealant into a paste form or cream it’s now okay to call it a wax even through it may have very little or no natural wax in it at all. So I guess what I would say it that it’s better to just judge products on their results rather than what the manufacturer decides to call them and I think waxes can look better or worse than sealant - it just depends on the product.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
That’s really great to hear mate and wishing you the best of luck! You can and I have put waxes over ceramic coatings, but you just have to accept that it not going mimic the advanced self cleaning and water behaviour of a coating - in which case an SiO2 spray sealants may do better there. But if you’re not too fussed about that you can certainly use a wax.

I think if darkening and depth are your main priorities, Vintage could potentially be a slight step up but I honestly haven’t done a direct comparison so I can’t say for sure. I can say they both look fantastic and I’d tend to think that layering them should really get you there if one or the other doesn’t on its own.
