I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Robert Kiltz and we talked about ideal diets to get pregnant and stay pregnant.
Fertility issues or concerns? You don't want to miss this interview! We discuss the following in chronological order:
- Dr. Robert Kiltz Story
- Infertility is on the rise. What are some of the biggest culprits?
- What are some reasons for hormonal balance? PCOS? Endometriosis?
- Best diet for pregnancy? THE B.E.B.B.I. DIET What is this diet?
- Many people say that low carb or minimal sugar is toxic to women’s hormones and thyroid health. Thoughts?
- How does low carb help/hurt our sex hormones and chances of getting pregnant?
- Some say the cortisol spike can better be balanced at night by eating carbs before bed and some people start to sleep through the night better when adding carbs. Why is that?
- Supplementation of zinc? Other supplements to help with pregnancy
- There are some practitioners that say if you have your menstrual cycle, that does not mean you ovulated. Is this true? Or does have your monthly cycle mean you always ovulate? (I’ve heard it’s more an overripe egg)
- Other tips to help with pregnancy?
- At what point should couples seek alternative help for pregnancy if they’ve been eating meat-based or keto for a while and still not getting pregnant?
- Where you can find Dr. Robert Kiltz

I've been doing keto/carnivore for 4 years, but still suffering 4 miscarriages in the past 18 months. I just turned 38 and am not sure what more I can do to help fertility. Lots of testing and no indication of any problem.

I know this is an old comment, but I also had trouble getting pregnant, even on keto and carnivore. I eventually got a positive when I went strict carnivore. Meat, water, salt. No seasoning, eggs or dairy, and no processed meat. You might be sensitive to something and it's causing inflammation and preventing a healthy pregnancy. Strict carnivore is hard, but doable. I got pregnant with my son at 38(had him at 39)and today just got a positive pregnancy test at 42(and on my first month back on strict carnivore) good luck!

@I'mnotallama Thank you for sharing this. I have tried meat and water, but maybe not for long enough.I was wondering if eggs may be a problem for me too, but I cut out dairy and caffeine about 2 months ago. How long did you have to do strict meat and water before you had success? I do feel really good when I eat that way.

@@jessicar.8404 With my son, I got pregnant the first full month I went strict carnivore(when I was 38). I went strict this past month, although after taking a test this morning, I think it's a chemical. Still, we've been trying for 8 months with nothing, and the first month I do strict carnivore I get a line. I'm going to buckle down this next cycle. Add more liver, shorten my eating window and see if it sticks.
@jessicar.8404
@jessicar.8404 2 года назад
@I'mnotallama I'm so sorry for your loss if it was a chemical. I pray you have success soon! Did you have to go to beef only or could you eat other meats? I can do it if I need to because I've tried it for short stints before and felt great. My concern now is I've seen a specialist who has put me on medications and supplements. I hope that doesn't muddy the water. I had an easy pregnancy at 34 while on keto, but have never gotten back to baseline since then. Now I'm 38 and only make progress when I'm very strict carnivore. It took me a long time to realize dairy was not helping me. I really appreciate your insight.
@antigonepc

@@jessicar.8404 I wasn't doing strickly beef, I was doing all animals, but this next month I'm just going to try beef and bacon. If I can, I might just try beef. I have been suffered from PCOS until I started keto and carnivore 6 years ago. Up until 6 years ago, I had had two periods every month and led me to anemic. Took iron pills but never helped me at all. My Dr didn’t know what was wrong at that time. I was dizzy pretty much all the time. I got both of kids through IVF which costed me a ton. I really wish I had known about carnivore when I tried to conceive. Ever since I started keto and especially carnivore, my period became on point and very regular now. So happy. Carnivore also helped me and my husband get off of meds of immunity disorder diseases. I have RA and my husband has Churg-strauss syndrome.

Stress is always a hot topic in these videos.....but man has had stress since the dawn of time. It isn't something new. We can fool ourselves into thinking our modern life is sooo much more stressful, but really? Look at all the comforts we have that weren't around even a hundred years ago. Life may be faster in a way, but it certainly is not "harder". Centuries ago, life stresses were extreme.

question- do these lifestyle changes improve women's egg quality? My wife recently changed to this diet and lifestyle and got pregnant but it was not sustained and she had a miscarriage. Our dr said it may be an issue of egg quality
@louismario5522
@louismario5522 2 месяца назад
A lot of factors can cause poor egg quality, it takes about 3 months for an egg to mature and then be released. A lot, can happen during those 3 months and it’s really just consistency of healthy habits, especially stress environmentally, emotional and mental stress, starting first with good quality sleep first will help the rest fall into place easier. I hope this helped, :)

I thought I would follow-up with an update on this post I made 8 months ago after being notified just now of the comment below. What prompted my question initially was that my wife and I had been going to a fertility clinic for over one year and attempting and receiving guidance from the doctors there on interventions. 1) we made several attempts at timed intercourse using letrozole and injecting for egg release but very poor results, not even early signs of pregnancy 2) one attempt an an IUI with similarly poor results 3) we were advised to try IVF because the doctor said it was a problem with egg quality and age (I was 43 and my wife 37 last year 2023). What the clinic never considered addressing was my wife's PCOS which they diagnosed her with at the beginning of all of this. But in my efforts to avoid a hefty IVF bill, I did a lot of research on resolving the PCOS through diet and lifestyle including watching this video among many others. Then in July 2023, she went on a ketogenic diet (or maybe I should call it dirty keto because it was simply keep carbs below 40 g per day), strength training 4-5X a week, inositol, and power pre-natal supplements. It was a multi-pronged strategy that's for sure. She lost 25 lbs in 2 months and got pregnant in mid October (3 months after starting the diet) but it was another miscarriage. We were pretty frustrated and I was prepared to try IVF given our ticking biological clocks. Fortunately my wife was patient enough to try once more. She got pregnant in about late December 2023 (5-6 months after make the diet and lifestyle changes) and I'm happy to report she's expecting to deliver in September 2024. All testing like the harmony blood test and ultrasounds indicate a very healthy baby boy. Pretty incredible turn around from where we were in 2023 and I can't recommend enough trying to address underlying conditions rather than using these fertility clinics as a first line intervention. It will save you money and make you a healthier person.

Completely agree, God made us to eat all food, however we sometimes need to eliminate to allow our bodies to heal. If eliminating a certain food for a time helps, then do it! But don't preach to others that this is the only way to eat for good health. There is not enough evidence to support arguments that an all meat diet is the only way to good health! Maybe it is good for some, or even good for a time of healing, but not forever. I have found that most people who preach carnivore are people who generally get triggered by sweet or carbohydrate foods, therefore they proclaim they are bad foods. That is ridiculous and we all know it. If you can be self controlled and eat all foods with respect to moderation and wisdom then you will generally remain healthy. It's all about a healthy balance, and I agree that can be very difficult for many.
