Video request : Having children is inherently selfish and there is no selfless reasons to have kids.

100% agree.

I think it's hard to address this topic properly without opening a whole other giant can of philosophical worms along with it, and I'm saying that as someone who agrees with you that having/wanting to have kids is inherently selfish (i don't remember seeing an example in practice where that wasnt the case).

This is why most of us who are child free end up losing friends who have children.

You'd be surprised. I have a friend whose husband isn't comfortable being left alone with their kids. So she literally has to be there all the time and never gets a break. It's ridiculous.

Back in 2014, I was in Baltimore for 90 days on a work contract. While there, I met a very, very beautiful lady (looked kinda like Janet Jackson), and I offered to take h e r on a date. Please tell me why this individual showed up with 2 offspring. I was heated and confused. I wanted to leave, but I also wanted to make sure those 2 kiddos got a good meal. I hid my anger and went ahead and had dinner. Soon as I left, I blocked their number.

You made the right choice to never contact that woman again it's obvious she thought she could use you

THIS.... This is the exact reason why I flat out stopped hosting at my place... for one, you always have that one person who doesn't know how to go home ⌛😤..... and second, I make it perfectly clear that if I personally invite you over, that invitation is only meant for YOU 💯🗣️

If kids are involved let's face it, that hangout is gonna have to be centered around the kids to keep them entertained, especially if there's no other kids there, either that or they'll have to find something to keep them entertained while the adults do their own thing and even then if the kids need something, you're gonna have to stop and tend to them, which it would be hard for me to enjoy my time knowing it can be interrupted at any time. It's rude in general to invite someone to someone else's home who they didn't invite and that includes your own kids, and i would just tell them that, maybe not so bluntly, but def let them know i'd rather not have the kids over.

10 years ago when I had a career (I no longer have one due to various health issues) and worked at this job I HATED, the department I was working in got the news that 1 person would be fired due to reorganisation plans. Being first one in meant I'd be the first one out, I was of course happy with the news because it meant I wouldn't have to quit, instead would be fired with a great severance package. But no one knew how miserable I was. One day a colleague from another department came up to me and said 'everyone knows it will be you. You will be let go, but you are single and child-free, so are also worry-free. Think of your colleagues Amy, Bernice, Catherine, Denise ...etc? They have kids, are married, they have many mouths to feed'. After the initial shock, I said 'how do you know I am worry-free? I take care of my disabled father, pay for our rent, do the groceries and cook every day, clean on weekends, I have 3 indoor cats, 26 outdoor stray cats ...' plus damnit, I was already feeling the health issues creeping up. Can you please do a video on such a situation? This person did come back to me and apologise, so all was good ... but that is how people think and it is so annoying and unfair.

Why can’t parents teach their offspring to cover their mouth when coughing and tell them to not pick their nose? Why can’t parents teach their kids to not touch all the cookies before deciding which one they want? Why can’t parents teach their kids to use i-n-d-o-o-r voice? Why can’t parents teach their kids to be kind towards animals, not let little Gemma hit the cat and let little Andy chase the pigeons in the city center? - Just, why?

I’d just straight up ask if the child(ren) are respectable, behaved and house trained. And we could go from there!

personally, if i asked when the friend is coming to visit, i know that i asked specifically about her, the friend, and am not interested in interacting with any other members of her family. i feel like this kid related question wouldnt even have a chance to be asked, because i only want to spend time with the friend (not her kids, her husband, her mother, father, her in laws or whatnot).

I love the sarcasm but I have refused to have children in my home for over 15 years. I’d straight up say that if it wasn’t just her, we’d have to reschedule for another time.
