Hi, If you need to lose a lot of weight, will it still work with TA Online considering the lack of cardio and more body work? Or is this more for people that are closer to their ideal weight?
@@andiesmith1100 hey girl! That’s a great question and I’ve wondered the same thing. I found myself deep creeping the “elite tammers” as I called them and going years back they always appeared to be in great shape. Have you considered asking in the TA community page of Facebook group? That may be an even better resource than me! On a personal note, I’m finding getting back to power walking has been a game changer in addition to whatever movement I’m doing - right now it’s Hamelin. I’m loving that more and more research is coming out about all of the major fat burning benefits of walking which validates my choice to get back into it! Much more of a long winded answer than you may be looking for - but let me know if that helps!
I also found I got injured more easily doing the high rep counts of the DVDs be it Metamorphosis, Mat or Perfect Design (which I loved and changed my body the most in the best way). I prefer the lower rep count. I have a total knee replacement & no matter how much I want to I can’t do all the moves so if there’s just 15-20 reps of something I’m missing I don’t feel as bad 😀 I find the faster pace of Online Studio also keeps me from being bored, but I love that years on there’s a wide variety of options to choose from. Something for everyone! Your videos are awesome!!! So many times people just love or hate Tracy and I haven’t seen many/any people post real helpful critical explanations for folks to understand what it’s about. Great channel.
Thank you Rachel for this helpful review! I loved what you explain about reps, that's so TRUE! When I start a new level of META, the first thing I do is watching the whole video, counting and writing how many preps she does. I never understood why she doesn't say anything about it 🤷♀️ and you're so right, sometimes, 40 is really discouraging 🥵 Good point for online studio 👍 Thank you for your review 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, Violaine! I find myself picking up bad habits where I will pause my workout to count how many more reps she has, before I resume the video and complete it. Especially, on the first day of a new level. 🥵couldn’t be any more appropriate! My new favorite emoji.
Oh my word THANK YOU for this!!! I've been doing metamorphosis on RU-vid but have gone back and forth about the streaming service. I just signed up this week for my two week trial and plan on sticking with the streaming service. This was so informative and I really appreciate you taking the time to do this for everyone.
@@Rose-jr2sf I stopped the service. I found I liked metamorphosis so much better. Plus the streaming is expensive. I do believe it’s a great program though. However, the beginner routine is 30 minutes but the intermediate and advanced are an hour. Plus you need to do the 30 minutes of dance cardio. Just so you’re aware.
Thank you for this video! I've been doing TA metamorphosis on and off for the past few years, and you convinced me to finally suck it up and try the online studio. It's a game changer! You are totally right about the # of reps. I also thought I'd be overwhelmed going from 30mins w/ meta to 1 hour with Fundamental, but I was totally ready for it, and it felt amazing! Plus the online classes definitely have more of a creative, intuitive flow to them and overall it's just a better experience. Never going back!
So glad you like it!!! Isn’t it something that most of the hour streaming classes feel shorter than the 30 min meta?? I really couldn’t imagine going back either.
I appreciate you doing these videos Rachel. I’m on level 7 of metamorphosis. I’m in love with it. I work up such a burn and sweat will doing it without the sore knees I was getting with HIIT body weight workouts. I’m so curious about the streaming, but honestly have a hard time getting past the cost. Maybe the idea will grow on me. Lol.
My dearest, Ronnie! That’s fantastic! Do you think you’ll proceed with Continuity afterwards? I don’t know if I would have gotten past the cost either. I figure I am saving time and money by canceling my gym membership which was 20 min from my home and $160/mo. Now the struggle will be to keep this fresh and fun as working out from home can get BORING.
She used to have a locker room with metamorphosis. Years ago! I really enjoyed it back then coz we'd all post our questions and everyone would be supportive of each other, even in a cheaper offering such as metamorphosis.
I just started her workouts recently and if it wasn’t for my love of Essentrics I’d think these moves were bonkers. But I get it! Lengthening while strengthening head to toe is not only effective but it’s much safer than most traditional workouts. I’m still trying to get used to no verbal queues but I’m already hooked. This is am excellent break down as the official TA site is so confusing and lacks information.
@@Jocellyn88 Essentrics allowed me to really appreciate TAM. I’m confident that without it TAM would have been too much for me to handle. I have not heard of Hanna Somatics. I’ll research it because I’m interested. Is there a particular instructor you follow? Anything that keeps me from getting sore is my friend.
Hi Rachel. Long time fan here. Amazing content you provide. With the hard work and personal flare you bring, your passion for your content shines through every week. We love you in Washington DC.
Thanks for the thorough review! It's been a number of years since I've done Metamorphosis, and I've been thinking about getting back to it because I felt so good and strong while doing it. I've just been nervous because I've gained weight since I stopped my workouts and I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up. I'll probably need to start with beginner mode for a while.
Hey Sherry! I can relate! And I’m willing to bet that 99.9% of people that follow TA have to pause at some point. I know I have several times for one reason or another. Even if you decide to start with beginner once a week, you end up getting over the hardest part - starting!💕
Hey Rachel, I love reading your reviews. I started doing TA about 10 years ago but never got through Meta but am now back on it but only on Day 7 and determined to finish it and maybe by then I will be ready for the online studio (though if I had lots of money I would go straight for the online now!). The other form of exercise I picked up with TA when I originally started was to use a rebounder and I know she released a rebounding DVD but I can't see that there's been any further workouts from her. I think it's a fantastic form of cardio exercise and I will do rebounding for 30 mins + Meta. I look forward to keeping up with your progress x
Way to go!!! I tell you, there were many times I paused on meta, but just keep charging forward and be patient with yourself. I am so intrigued by this rebounding! I need to check it out. There seem to be so many benefits especially with the lymphatic system! Keep me posted with your progress!
@@RundownwithRachel rebounding is so good - I’m so surprised that many more people are not doing it! Even if I do a HIIT workout, I do the running or jumping work on it. It makes you feel so good x
Great job on giving the rundown for this. Lately I have added some learn to dance videos 20 min and I walk a lot. Close to 10 miles , 20k+ steps. The issue I have is a fake knee and I have to be careful. Even without a titanium knee jumping is not great on knee/joints. Curious about rebounding as well. Today is day 29 on Meta. You look fantastic , long and lean.
Thank you so much, Jillybean, and look at you go with Meta! The first few weeks are the hardest part, so you are over that hump with day 29! Well done! Fortunately, my knees are doing better with the dance cardio - because I am actually wearing shoes - whereas before I wasn't - MAJOR mistake. But to your point, ANY type of jumping really isn't ideal in the long run. I need to get back to my long walks. Which learn to dance videos do you recommend? So looking forward to how Meta goes for you.
@@RundownwithRachel don’t laugh but I went down the Britney Spears rabbit hole and then thought I should RU-vid Britney Spears choreography tutorial and that is kind of cool And that led to looking at learning to shuffle vids but that is even harder on the knees. But I am kind of digging the dancing .
You are not alone!!! Check out the “Don’t do it alone” video I posted a few weeks ago. Really helps to get you plugged into the community and learn from others too! So many resources you’ll come across overtime ❤️
I did the advanced class with ease. Now what? Are the live classes more challenging? I used 8Lb ankle weights and 5 lB hand weights. I've tried two classes online. The results have been just a lengthening feel of tight muscles. I like the concept; I need a more challenging class of the same. Thanks. 😀
Oh yes! You are right. There is Continuity. I was considering trying it, but was so curious about the online studio. I know that Busbee Style (youtuber) did Continuity and liked it, too. Seems to be similar to meta with the 30 min muscular structure, but I hear the cardio offering is larger.
Hi Rachel, greetings from Prague, Czech Republic🙂I have a question you probably have answered 1000 times- whatwould you recommended to begin with? I have exercised all ny life, but (that willnot be surprising toTA fans 🙃) I cant last all work out yet. Methamorphosis on youtube? perhaps it does not really matter, important is to stick to it, right? keep on posting, your content isgreat, refreshing! Anna
Thank you, Anna!!! That’s a great question! I recommend starting with Metamorphosis- and as it turns out I released a video walking through it which may help! By starting with Meta, you get a chance to acclimate to the program. It’s also nice to have a structure that Meta gives. To get best results, for me at least, dance cardio is a MUST! Thanks for your question and kind words!
Thank you for the video Rachel! Which would you do for a beginner? I’m going from workout weight training in the gym 3-4 times a week to Tracy Anderson. I feel my mind and body is craving it after many years of the gym. I am slender and wonder too if I’ll add a lot of weight since I’ll be doing less intense weighted training. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Hey!!! I’ve gotta say, transitioning to TA was very scary for me. Totally understand where you are coming from! I was worried I would put on weight given the workout isn’t intense in the traditional sense. Have you done TAM before? If I knew what I know now, when starting, I would have incorporated more dance cardio given I believe it really drives the trim look I’m after. As far as choosing meta or online studio, I think everyone should go through the meta program as it pushes you to the method daily and given you can find it on RU-vid- you don’t have to invest financially (the online studio trial doesn’t last long enough to see the potential results in my humble opinion). I have a recent video sharing what I’ve learned after doing a year of TAM and what I wish I learned which I think could be helpful, too! Here for any other questions that you may have 💕
when i do tracy anderson method i do mostly 20 reps. a couple moves i can do 30. the harder movies that i realy struggle with like the plank moves i do 10 reps and for the cardio i do her cardio and then i do dance ones too cause her cardio is to hard and complacated and boring to do all the time. 90 dollers is way too much for a subscription every mounth so i just rotate through all her dvds i have. i aslo do a didfrent level every day cause doing each level for 10 days is boring. for me i gonna switch it up. u do give very good advise describing the streaming and meta and how well ta works for u.i have all of metta year 1,2 and 3.
It’s so encouraging to hear that you have committed to meta for so long! I struggle with getting bored, too. It’s a constant battle! Especially given any home workout gets boring given there is no social interaction as there is with in person workouts.
I completely understand. I’m contemplating the idea of suspending my subscription and stick with my own routine. Don’t get me wrong, I love the method but there is some expectations (moslty the part where you feel you are left alone yo figure out things) . Actually Tracy has a lot of explained breakdown mini series on goop and health magazine online. I’ve found that I could easily combine those moves and. Customize my workout . Some days you don’t have the strength or energy to do or follow along whatever you are being told to... you just want to flow and I’m that person. Aim for 15-20 reps 10 moves for arms; 18-20 moves for legs (core combo) and you got at least 47-55min of workout ☺️
@@stephanieCl you have such great tips! I’ve been customizing the Dance Cardio to an extent, just because it’s nice just to do your own thing. Have you done intermediate this week on streaming? It look so intimidating but feels great! It’s funny how when I think the workout will be a breeze the opposite happens and vice versa.
@@RundownwithRachel I’m in the middle of a big renovation and moving, I didn’t stream at all last week. I will restart tomorrow but there is someone here on RU-vid who uploaded the design series which I’ve been doing in the middle of my chaos. One tip that I found for all the back kick is to seriously extend your leg you will engage your lower abs muscles and you will be surprised to feel them tickling 😊. I will do Fundy this week and stay gentle with myself 😘 waving with my glass of rose and linguini shrimp naughty 😋😆
@@stephanieCl god bless you! We had our contractor over today and looking at doing a remodel - what an undertaking you are in the midst of! I’m going to check out that design series! Thanks so much for the rec! Currently waving to you with a few margs 🍹🍹🍹
Hi Rachel I haven’t quite seen this answered. I was wondering if you could tell me where it’s best to start if you’re not new to working out but are totally new to the Tracy Anderson method. Thank you for your amazing videos
Hey Hollie! Thank you for your kind words 🥰. That is great feedback and a great video idea. I think the best place to start would be 1. Read Tracy's book "The 30 Day Method" - it will help you understand it and get you so excited. 2. The 30 Day Method book has information on the moves, too which is helpful - and I have received a tip that following the 30 Day Method workout is a great way to have a strong foundation. If you buy the book new - it comes with a DVD, but if you dont have a DVD player you may be able to buy the digital version on her site. That said, it may be a great program to start - but I have not done it. If you want something conveniently available on RU-vid metamorphosis is great! 3. Be patient with yourself - even though you are not new to working out - this is SO different. It may challenge you in ways you would never expect - which is why the TA community is so helpful! Let me know if that helps!
HI Rachel, I'm now hooked on your videos!! :) 2 questions: When did you start TA for the first time? And how long did it take for you to see results? I mean I know every person is different...
Sorry for the late reply Moj! I noticed results pretty instantly - but its likely because my muscles weren't inflamed from HIIT classes and that immediately made me look smaller. When I started including dance cardio along with meta, my results were supercharged, and that's when my guy even took notice!
Hey Rachel, thanks so much for this video. Have you noticed any differences between the free trial and paid version of online studio? Sorry if you have answered this else where. Thanks so much for your content!
Hey Tiffnee! Sorry for the late response - not sure how I missed this. There actually isn't a difference I have found between the trial and paid. I THOUGHT there would be - as there are some video interviews on the trial and paid version that aren't active. That actually requires a DIFFERENT subscription - which I haven't coughed up the extra expense for yet - but worth me giving it a shot.
@@RundownwithRachel Hey Rachel, no problem at all! Thank you so much for your response. Do you think it is apart of her "Performance" Subscription. I cant really find a lot of info about what that actually is about. But anyway its good to know there isnt a difference between the trial and paid version. I will probably give it a go! Thanks again for your time and help! :)
@@tiffneewertenberger yes! That’s it! At some point I’m sure I’ll dive into it. I’m so curious about her perspective on all things. I’m finding one of the BIGGEST bonuses with Online Studio is the Locker Room. SO HELPFUL!
I like Nikki’s. Today I did “caTApult Cardio with Nikki - March 2021”. I pick up on her patterns pretty quick and don’t get frustrated like I can with others. Hope that helps!
Hey Rachel this is great. I've actually been wondering all week whether I should go for Metamorphasis or just for online streaming. I can't yet decide because Metamorphosis feels like old? But it still more affordable than Online classes
I totally know what you mean! Metamorphosis is tried and true. I am so glad I started with that instead of starting with the online studio - it got me off to a great start, especially in proving to myself I could actually stick to it.
@@RundownwithRachel Great, you are right I need to prove my self first that I can stick to it!! This was super helpful thank you so much! Keep going with the updates! Also, do you do the hour of cardio and hour of muscular structure? Tbh I would only be able to fit an hour. Also, have you experienced the locker room yet? xx!
@@constanzafreire4918 so good to hear! Most days, I do 30 min of cardio with the hour of muscular structure. As for the locker room, it’s been such a helpful resource to read others experiences and what works for them. All that said, I don’t know that I would have gotten as much out of the online studio without doing Meta first.
I haven’t experienced that yet, but on the online studio - in the community area called the Locker Room, many people talk about how they use extra foam. I do use a foam yoga mat - which may be why i haven’t had issues! Such a great call out, though! Especially since a majority of the workout is on the knees!
The earlier you get a knee cushion mat (yoga) on amazon the safer it will be. I literally workout with 2 mats and that yoga knee pad! Great video Rachel
Thank you for your review . If I sign up for Tracy s intermediate , how do you watch on your TV. ,? Sorry to ask but im not very tack savy and I dont want to watch on my phone .🙏🏼
I don’t blame you! It’s impossible to follow on your phone! Do you have a TV that has a USB port in the back? Do you have a laptop you can stream through? With those you can connect a USB cord from your laptop to the TV. The phone may be a bit trickier - not sure if I even know the best way to do that.
Hi Rachael, many thanks for all your videos! I started metamorphosis a month ago and might try TA Online Studio when I'm finished with the first program. I've got a question not related to the topic of this video. I would love to find an accountability partner. Is there any WhatsApp group or a way to find it? Thanks in advance:)
Hey! Thats a great question! There are TA Facebook groups which may be a great start. Also, when you do your 2 Week Online Studio trial (free) - you can always post on the Community page!
It seems like there is a no difference at all between abcentric and omincentric and all the other ones...?? Am I right? I was agonizing over which to choose, but seems like they are identical!!
Very small differences and so glad you’re asking this - it’s something I’ll call out in a video soon. When I took the body type quiz I was listed as Omni, but my tummy has been my long time problem area, which is why I went with abcentric and glad I did. If you have a certain problem area i recommend going with that lane 💜
For metamorphosis did you buy DVDs? I’d like a program that doesn’t change weekly and DVDs that i can do over and over. Or do i have to purchase Metamorphosis online in Tracy’s studio site?
You can purchase the DVDs from her site, but if you check it out on RU-vid - just to see what you’re getting into - for free - you certainly can. That seems to be what most people do. Especially since DVD players are being phased out. Hope that helps!
Hey! Metamorphosis is 100 days, but the Continuity program continues off of that for a year or two I believe. Online Studio is ongoing with a new workout every week.
Hey Isabelle! It’s hard to say because Online Studio does change every week, and can sometimes seem so wildly different than the previous week. Some weeks there is more time spent on abs than other weeks, or arms, or glutes etc. I think that really ties into the importance of keeping your body guessing. For that reason, I don’t think there is a definitive answer. Is there a reason for your question? If you prefer to spend more time on abs, the online studio does have 15 minute add on exercises to target specific areas - including abs 🥰
@@RundownwithRachel Thanks for the reply! I ask because my back doesn't like crunch or sit up type moves. I like working abs standing up or in a plank position--really any other way than laying down on my back. I can't quite get a sense of how much on-the-back stuff she does :-)
@@isabellegilbert8902 I’m so sorry to hear that! That’s gotta be frustrating! Some weeks there is a bit of on the ground work, but I wonder if there are modifications you could work in. It may also be worth connecting on one of the Facebook groups devoted to Tracy Anderson and ask there. I’m actually putting together a video all about tapping into the Tracy Anderson community as it’s been so helpful! Lastly, on online studio there is something called the prescription office where you can schedule a one on one consultation for $100. With that you’re talking to a TRUE expert on the method and may walk away with some solid advice and direction. I hope that helps and that you enjoy the rest of your weekend 💕🐰🐣
I’ve been doing Online Studio for a few months. I just moved up to intermediate. I also have issues with some ab workouts. It seems that most an workouts, we’re flat on the ground and only lifting your upper back, with a weight.
Its somewhat hidden but very easy to get to! Just select "Bonus Content" > "Tracys Super Class" - its misleading since the bonus content description is "15 min body specific add ons"
I wish I could say I did, but no. There are some months where I do lots of dance cardio and then some - none at all. There’s a fine balance of doing too much of it that can cause for overeating and even burnout.
Does she still have the locker room? I have streaming but have never seen that. I realize this video is a year old! Also, what lane would you do to get ready for a trip for instance in say 90 days besides meta which I’ve done? I like the plan of meta but find myself all over trying a little of everything with streaming TA options.
She sure does! Thank goodness - as it's probably the best resource out there! What was once called the Locker Room is now called the Community. For your trip, it may be worth scheduling a Prescription Office consultation and coming up with a plan. It has been helpful to me many times when I have questions about specific issues or how to get to a specific goal. I had no shame in even putting on a swimsuit to get solid feedback during the skype-type consultation.
