Honestly Mr Bass was kinda right... If there was even a POTENTIAL conflict of interest, and they have two officers? Not to say he was innocent, but he even offered to do the test with the other officer.
oh and ignore the fact that he wasn’t complying at all during the whole test? ,, not to mention his true colors showed when back in custody, which gives the beauty of hindsight; meaning the arresting officer was right in his call.
@@iamOmarmG Would you comply against someone you had history with? Knowing that their was personal beef between the both of you? That's why a conflict of interest is known to lawyers and law enforcement. Bass was asking nicely for the other officer to intervene and do the test himself, which the other officer failed to do.
Police all over the World use horses. In Europe you'll often see mounted police being used for crowd control, during demonstrations, and particularly at football matches...especially high profile matches with a possibility of disorder.
@andre2075 And they are big. The horses used by British mounted police are enormous. I've seen them moving quickly (don't know the terminology - faster than a canter, but slower than a gallop) through Glasgow City centre, and it was scary - impressive, but scary.
“Do you want to be a victim?” Is the worst way to ask someone if they want to press charges. I don’t get why cops ask this way? This is the second time I’ve seen this asked. Obviously no one wants to “be a victim”.
That LEO with Mr. Bass is so stupid to not just hand over the stop to the other LEO. If the suspect is claiming a conflict of interest, why would you risk it, it is in the interest of the state, the tax payer and everyone else that this does not become a problem. He is also giving misleading instructions (since the police officer does those tests regularly, to them every step seems obvious, but the instructions need to be absolutely clear for the suspect, or you get results like this. This is double true if your suspect is on the spectrum). And apparently even the legal system agreed this was dumb.
Unfortunately, policing work tends to attract people with some pretty massive egos. Not saying everyone, just that it's a thing that keeps happening. Combine that ego with having, allegedly, dated the suspect's current girlfriend and proposed to her, only to be rejected. You can imagine the power trip the guy was riding, being able to potentially ruin his ex gf current bf. Not to mention, a lot of departments and squads kinda rally around this "it's us vs them" mentality, especially with recent events involving police. So even if they know for a fact their partner is doing something incorrect, many officers tend to just allow it to happen because it's us vs them. Don't bite the hand of the person you sleep in the same bed with. Or in this case, don't bite the hand of the person you share a locker room with. No one wants to call out a fellow officer, mid-stop with a civilian, and undermine/second guess everything they are doing. Civilian goes home, likely to be never seen again, meanwhile you have to go back the station with that officer and potentially write a formal report, betraying them.
The second there was a conflict of interest it should have been handed over. 100% Even as a youth worker I was given extensive training on how to spot and address COI's. I refuse to believe that a cop wouldn't get similar training.
Dude's 1000% on an ego trip because he was sleeping with the girl that said no to his proposal. This mf over here saying "Why's he look so farmiliar?!" like he doesn't know exactly who buddy is lol. The guy refused a breathalyzer, there's absolutely zero reason that he wouldn't be charged for that if the cop didn't completely botch the stop because he was raging and wanted to put dude in cuffs/jail as a power move.
10:42 That reprimand was GOLDEN ✨ Kudos to that officer but letting him know he ain't getting special treatment for being a drunk asshole, even if he is law enforcement 💯
No kidding, not at all considering even for a second that he could possibly be held accountable for his actions like every other criminal he’s arrested in his time as a cop. No, no, no that type of treatment is for THEM not ME cause I’m a cop like y’all, I don’t go to jail. Come on dude, I know he was wasted but think before you speak bro.
@@yourname8714field sobriety tests don't hold weight in court, and he didn't even partake in a field sobriety test, the first officer didn't administer it because he was "uncooperative"
@@ulize.did we watch the same video? The cop tried multiple times and realized he wasn’t getting anywhere, he gave him multiple chances to shut up and do this professionally and the dirtbag didn’t. Crazy you trynna defend it
@@Goofyahhh_x good thing the cop tried so hard professional, it worked so well that the "dirtbag" got away with a DUI because of a conflict of interest
Mr bass was absolutely right . Not sure why he wasnt given a diffrent officer . The officer seemed to do the sobriety test once he remmembered lol. People are not fools
12:24 lmaoooo "youre treating me like a prisoner!" "well sir, you ARE currently in jail and technically a prisoner" Amazing dialogue between these two right here.
am i wrong to think that if you've had any past history with a cop doin stuff with ur wife or what not, that you should be allowed to have another cop come out and deal with him? it just seems like a conflict of interest no?
Even though I dont agree with how the kid in the second one acted he is probably right. That cop flat out said in the beginning he looked familiar and he knew him from somewhere. Then the cop got all puffy chested when the man called him out on it during the tests. I 100% believe this kid has the proof to win his case, especially if he does have the pics on his phone that cop sent his girl AND his dwi being dropped because no evidence. Seems like he pulled this guy over for a light infraction and recognized him and threw him in cuffs. Hope the kid gets paid!
Officer really screwed up on the second one should have passed that off, definite conflict of interest. Also that last one, why??? Why not just go in yourself and get the free stuff which it sounds like she could have done legitimately? Why give your stuff to a friend and let them do it instead of you while you wait in the car???
Wow, that last one is a prime example of snitching on yourself. She admits without being asked that she has been conning places into thinking she is a cop for free stuff for 3 years.
@@Thetruththatisee I am pretty sure she was not even the police officers neighbor, and neither were the police officer that was arrested for being intoxicated. So clickbaity title.
10:44 I like the cop talking, I get the impression he would be ok with calling out cops that are acting without honour and/or unlawfully. Holding each other accountable should be something more normalised.
SRSLY; I'm just as much a fan of the bodycam when it protects law enforcement officers, as when it protects the rights of citizens. Thumbs up for the bodycam. 👍
I imagine that they were lovers and the big one played the dominant role in getting the other one to do stupidity like that. They probably gave her the choice to resign since they were going to fire her away… sad that she lost her job over somebody that didn’t care about her job or her…
of course the charges are going to be dropped against the guy with the trailer lights out . the DA isnt going to want to touch a case where the arresting officer had a personal beef with the suspect and the officer refused to let his partner take over the investigation when suddenly over taillights he accuses him of being drunk , that looked personal on the body cams and the embarrassment wouldn't be worth it when his attorney brings it up in court . that officer should have stepped back and called a supervisor
Shout out to that officer @10:50 . MORE cops need to stand up to the bad apples that make them all look bad. He SHOULD have called his supervisor and report him.
I dont understand that one, if her friend was in dcs and was eligible for the free food, why didn't she go and get the food? Did the other woman just wanna play pretend cop for a day?
Great job AZ police. You handled that situation the absolute best way possible. You should be proud of doing your job exactly how that situation should be handled. Arizona is lucky to have you.
8:45 My dream as a child was to be a horse cop. I wanted to ride around on a horse all day and be a badass. 😂 I’m still in the criminal Justice field but no, I am not a mounted police officer.
@@lunatic5162not really, they still have some inique qualities. They are great for dealing with large crowds. The officer has an elevated position and can see whats going on a lot better. They can also herd crowds quite well because of their size. If the officer needs to move through a crowd, a horse makes that a lot easier because on foot it could be hard to do, in a car its assault, but on a horse you should mostly be fine. Horses are pretty quick too, and they're more intimidating than just an officer alone. In the netherlands (where i live) police patrols on horses are still actively used (depends on where you live though), and their main purpose is actually in riot control now.
Brava to the officers on duty and showing no favortism to off duty personnel and/or people that they might know!!! Boo to off duty personnel, friends or family with big egos.
I hate how cops talk to men and use the term "Victim" like it's an insult. Where's the compassion for your fellow man? Or is it just easier to be a jerk?
@@essddenn8668to be fair, there is times where it needs to be off, like when they speak to confidential imformats, but i agree with the commenter above, he just wanted to confirm that it was caught on video, i dont believe anything malicious was meant by it
In the last clip why would the dcs officer not just go in herself to get the free food? Why did her friend have to do it lol? Could’ve save her job and Homegirl from going to jail 🤷🏼♂️😂
Smh. Imagine sittin in jail and everyones askin what ur in there for and u tell em its bc u used ur cop friends badge n gun to go in QT to get free food 😂 And imagine being the cop friend that has to explain to everyone why they got fired 🤣
We will never know. What we do know is that man was absolutely DUI and should have been convicted, but this officer refused to recuse himself for another DUI officer, so it crumbled the case. The suspect even tried to tell him. He should have listened.
@@MrLanGT exactly. But it doesn’t change that I’m correct on the fact that the arresting officer acted on emotion and not protocol which is why they had to toss it out. I wish he allowed another officer to do the test and arrest him because I too believe he was a DUI, even at the start dude said he couldn’t tell. But once he found out it was him it literally didn’t matter if dude was sober or not he was going to arrest him. And that is why it was thrown out.
It's relieving to see stories like the 3rd one. Some people just cannot get out of the "college bro" life and think the world owes them everything just because they put on a uniform. Cop or not, if you're an ass, you're an ass and get to be treated just like us.
