This would change the tone of FFX-2 Final Mission and would also make many other fans of the game seethe

You can tell the development team really loved Rikku. Even though the game really focuses on the back lore of Paine, Rikku's actions during her time without Yuna are mentioned all throughout it. I think the most telling is that she clearly had a love interest with Gippal, and it's very clear in ffx2 that he ended up really falling into wanting to pursue her again despite being the reason they broke up. They added a lot of hints to Rikku's effect in the world of Spira. Her design change was also the most drastic, and they used her as a secondary cover girl for the series advertisements. And then again with her return in the last mission once again bringing more world lore. It would've been nice to see them give her more spotlight since she is so loved... but I get that story wise, she would have overshadowed Yuna because she's far more dynamic. They do this to Vanille in ff13 as well...😢

That would have been amazing! I really hope if there’s an X-3 it focuses on Gippal, Baralai and Nooj’s backstory too because they were brilliant additions to Spira.

Im like while i do like those three, we kinda already know how their adventure went. Personally I'd rather them tell a story taking place during the Machina War 1000 years ago, but this is a cool idea as well

@@ThundagaT2 Oo focusing on the Machina war would be really interesting too! Thank you - I really enjoyed those 3+ Paine and feel like their story could easily be expanded on. Spira is a really interesting world and there’s a lot that could be done that focuses on other characters. I’d also be happy with something that focused on Rin and Shinra and that rumour about FFX/X-2 connecting to FFVII but that would probably be highly controversial. 😂

​@@ThundagaT2 FFX-0 Original Sin Features heavily: Yunalesca Lord Zaon Yu Yevon Shuyin Lenne Focusing on the final days of the Machina war between Bevelle and Zanarkand. Give it the Halo 2 treatment where it switches between two protagonists on opposite sides each learning a worldview shattering truth. They'll need to develop the Bevelle faction more heavily to do that. The origins of Sin, Dream Zanarkand, and Yevon etc. Same for Vegnagun. Then give it an FF7 Crisis Core & Halo Reach type vibe of noble tragedy, doomed inevitability and massive foreshadowing etc. Done right they could make it able to be played independently and be a hook point into the FFX series. THEN do the Auron, Jecht, Braska prequel.

Dissidia is ending in February of 2024 (end of month, beginning March 2024, Final Fantasy Dissidia Opera Omnia will be shut down completely. There was even a message from the developer about it. Really wishing Rikku was in though. They foreshadowed her as a tease but never put her in.

She got shafted for Kingdom Hearts as well, due to how confusing having two characters of the same name would be.

Yeah, Rikku was, & is really kewl, 1 of my favorite FF characters ... super cute, super kewl nerdy girly-girl (Yes, I'm a lil weebish X_X; & yes, I had a big thing for Rikku back in the day... kinda wish there were still ladies like her in the real world .... yakno... Kind-hearted, cute, sweet & generally really fun to be around ... )

nah psp is too weak for a massive ps2 game like ffx2

@@longvuhoang8499 Crisis core was literally on psp. Sure it wouldnt have been a straight up port, but a very close version couldve easily been made for the psp. (also monster hunter FU was on the psp which is arguably bigger than FFX-2)

It would be cool if X-3 actually had her as the main protagonist and added more development for her while still having Tidua and Yuna be the central focus of the overarching storyline. Rikku has always had potential as a main protagonist.

It would play out like the secret scene between Yuna and Rikku ontop of the airship where they have a long talk about various things including asking Rikku what she wanted to do as it’ll be about her when all the FFX2 story gets finished so to speak. If you haven’t seen it you really should!❤

Mystery Dungeon isn't just a Pokémon spinoff, it started as a Dragon Quest spinoff. Even so, that genre (Roguelike) existed long before then

If you get the ps vita FFX and X2 remastered, you get all of the dresspheres. I have the USA version but I think it's from the international version back in the day that had all of spheres.

It was not the original Japanese version, it was the International + Last Mission version, an updated version in the same vein as Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.

Man, kinda similar to DFFOO's JP version, which was about 6 months or so ahead of the GL (global) version. 😞

All it really needed was giving Rikku a big objective similar to what Yuna was up to. but Yuna's was... pretty phenomenal. She pretty much breaks the universe to restore Tidus to life. What would Rikku have to compare to that??? I did notice hints of this in the story though. Certain parts of the story of the game we did get have Rikku as the main driving force of a mission. Also the entire mission structure itself in FFX-2 seems designed to make the game modular so they can swap out parts more easily.

I do have a special connection with this game too. I've own every re-release copy.

prepare your heart to be crushed. they will never understand what made this game so great for our generation. certain titels changed the history of gaming and how it felt to witness this in the zeitgeist can not be explained D;

X-2 was my first FF game and X was the 2nd. They both hold a special place in my heart despite what many people say about X-2

Your first one is a groundbreaking experience and often your entry point to JRPGs, everything that follows just cannot have that "magic" again, especially other final fantasy titles. That is why final fantasy fans tend to be super critical of late FFs. Most people started either with 7 or 10.

I beated in 2008 when i was 6 years old.

I loved X-2 since the very beginning when I ran the game for the first time, right after beating X and watching the cutscene in between where you see Yuna about to embark on her next journey. And when I heard that song on the opening credits I felt like I was watching the opening of the second season of a tv series. A purely magical moment 😊

Would be stupid to do it, X-2 shouldn’t have even happened.. X was a masterpiece and should have been left alone..

@@jughcorey What do you mean gameplay wise? The battle system or the overall gameplay in general? The story is shit, which is what FF is all about.. The cheesy little girl vibe is shit, and weird considering it’s a main line title.. Went from probably the best opening sequence in a FF game in X from the start until you get to Besaid, to some weird shit finding out Brother wants to be a girl, Yuna is a Japanese style teen pop star and the games version of Sephiroth/Seymour/Kuja is Leblanc and her “goons”.. In terms of gameplay yeah, the battle system flows which is more engaging and fun.. The dress sphere system was quite cool, one thing X probably could have done differently was it’s levelling and equipment systems even though they’re unique and work, most people obviously prefer a more role based system, but that’s all I can think of.. The mission system is horrible, the chapter system is horrible, the % of completion thing is horrible especially considering a ton of it is tied to pointless trekking to every single area in every chapter to have some pointless conversation or do a pointless and boring thing.. And then you get rewards/endings BASED on wether you wasted all that time.. I was 14 when it released, I got the guide book too, can’t imagine how many people never saw the better endings until years after release either through following guides on the internet or just watching it on RU-vid or something.. I know the end game of X is a grind, a SERIOUS grind, but it’s all completely optional and not tied to the main game, you generally don’t start the end game until you’ve reached the final save point, the game is done, you’ve seen everything there is to see and you miss out on nothing wether you decide to do the end game or not.. If good gameplay to you is having to sit there for 10 minutes listening to Maechen multiple times throughout the game or watching countless comm spheres countless times or having to read a guide to say the right things to people for the calm lands mission then fine, but I find all that shit more boring.. I try to play through the game once in a blue moon but I just can’t, I get bored, while I can and do play through X once every few years, end game and all.. No disrespect but whenever I see someone saying X-2 is a good game I just automatically assume they’re either female or real life Brothers..

@@GrappleHeavy93 i enjoyed x2, the music was good and the battle system was fun. i do agree though despite my feelings about x2, x was the best ff game ive ever played...its been like a drug high for me..every ff game ive played since x hasnt been able to live up to x in regard to characters, depth, overworld, story ect. ffx is the best game square has ever made

They basically did it with yuna with ffx-2 and i didn’t see any issue with it other than the execution; it was a little too Charlie’s angels not serious enough

I agree, especially for 6. The pastel-remaster looks worse than the original, imo. Also, if they were to remake 8 I'd love if they disabled enemies leveling up with you. Turning them into cards to strengthen your GFs was tedious, but I liked the junction-system and the characters. Sorry for rambling. Have a nice day🙌

X doesn't need a remake. It's been remastered for nearly every existing console already. I have it on ps3, ps4 (honestly don't know why at this point) and Switch. I HAD them on ps2 as their individual games before I sold it lol. It doesn't need to be remade, they'll only be able to add pointless padding and remove elements people love. Or they'll do the FF7 sequel approach of claiming to be a remake while it's actually not. At all. I was suckered in by the first one. It would have been an awesome NEW installment from the series if they reskinned the protagonists.

And yes, unless far less people buy the ff7remake sequels each time, it's going to be just as much a success as usual. Nothing I say will change that. I'm a person that's bought the original ff7 multiple times, and a couple of it's sequels. Don't hate the franchise, just dislike the remake.

Based on the secret scene between Yuna and Rikku on top of the airship… there already was a huge opening for Rikku’s story to be next. Which could go into some really cool directions. Literally telling Rikku that it can be all about her next time and that she wishes it to be so ! Check the scene out

They're real to ME!

I mean, maybe. We saw most of their journey, and it was pretty straightforward. They went from bevelle to besaid, then back to bevelle to Zanarkand. Nothing notable until they arrived in Zanarkand and all died.

She is the better character. Nobody wants to address the fact that Yuna never really makes decisions or life changes for herself BY herself. She's very weak willed in general and although she has a lot of growth it's very ironically main character syndrome and she comes off very coddled cause of everything she has at her disposal. Without Tidus or Rikku she would have never grew as much. Yunas personality in X2 seems like a mixture of natural growth, adopting what she remembered of Tidus personality and Rikkus influence.

That was like 8 years apart
