yea imo that's the big takeaway: stupid slow bureaucratic systems suck and the real problem is that there's a way to exploit it in the first place, with any amount of useful re-structuring this type of thing wouldn't be possible. That's so terrible that his niece also commited suicide a year later because of it. And then her boyfriend killed himself later as well after discovering her body. Unfortunately, Tyler going to prison again was not the end of the story. using a tablet given to prisoners to pass the time, he somehow logged back into his Twitter and bragged about his current life behind bars. "Ya'll should see the swag I got in here. I'm an E-God!" He then said that when he gets out of prison, he's going to go on the biggest swatting rampage ever. killing a man made him feel powerful and he said he now has the power to kill anyone he wants. all he has to do is come up with a convincing story for police to kill that person. however, police were using his account to further gather evidence when he logged in and saw what he was saying as he was saying it. from what I've been hearing, Tyler's sentence has been extended. Tyler cannot be allowed out of prison. he is too much of a danger. killing a man did not teach him anything except that he has the power to do it

The fact that police will just gun down someone for adjusting their clothing after they've been pulled out of their home unexpectedly in the middle of the night is horrifying. They show up with a level of alertness that's higher than them responding to say... a domestic abuse call or something like that. So if the "suspect" doesn't fully cooperate and they do anything remotely sketchy, they're within their rights to use lethal force to protect themselves and their team. It sucks but you're asking the police to wait till they're shot at first in a situation where they're literally expecting a potential shootout. It doesn't work that way. It's extremely tragic but the real one at fault is the one who made the call and I personally think that person should be held responsible for anything bad that happens, for instance if someone dies like they did here, charge them with 1st degree murder. @voteZDLR

@@XavierRenegadeAngel It wasn't the wrong house number. What, you expect them to be psychic? They were told of a situation, they're trained to deal with that situation. What would you have them do wait for what they presume to be the suspect to start actively shooting at them? They're trained to deal with situations. Up until that point, they assumed they were arriving at the situation the call was actually for. They told the man to put his hands up, which he did, then he errantly reached toward his belt only to then put his hands back up again. It's a tragedy, but he didn't follow the orders they gave and it cost him his life unfortunately. But no, they aren't psychic, they didn't have the luxury of being like "Well, maybe this is just a misunderstanding. Maybe it's just a joke." It's not a joke, the SWAT team is deployed and utilized every single day for legitimate situations, they have to treat every single one as serious until it's determined that it's not serious. It usually doesn't end in death, unfortunately this time it did. They're not going to risk their own or the potential safety of would-be victims inside until the situation is resolved. The cop told him to put his hands up, one of his biggest mistakes was not doing exactly that until things could be resolved. This isn't on the cops. It's on the piece of shit who made the call in the first place. Fortunately, since then the penalties have gone up severely and the trend of swatting has gone down in kind which is the only net positive there is. But no, the cops did exactly what they were supposed to do. The victim didn't. I don't know what you expect them to do differently other than to wait for the suspect to begin firing and only then use neutralizing force, they showed up to what was a situation and treated it exactly as such, which is why none of them received any criminal charges for their actions during the raid.

During this incident Barriss went online, logged onto an old Twitter account, and started talking shit along with making threats, even saying he was a “Egod”. To answer your question though, Wavy did a poor job of describing what actually happened, probably for the sake of brevity of the video (I'm really surprised that he never mentioned the incidents that happened while Tyler was already in jail). Casey Viner was initially charged with conspiracy to make hoax reports, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and wire fraud, while Shane Gaskill was only accused of the latter three counts. They both initially plead not guilty, with Casey later changing his plea to guilty of the count of conspiracy and obstruction. Casey is already out of prison. Meanwhile, Shane was reindicted with additional charges after they found that he had goaded them on to "try again" after news of Finch's death had circulated. He then struck a deal for deferred prosecution, which could have resulted in the charges being dismissed entirely on the basis of him meeting certain conditions, but with the possibility of facing over 60 years in prison if he were to go to trial and be convicted. He was only sentenced recently, this September. Different charges, different judges, that's why their sentences were different.

I don't get how anyone can think that's acceptable. The police should be held to a higher standard since they do have the unenviable task of upholding the law and PROTECTING people. And this cop at the very least failed. With an entire swat team there, they could've easily waited for him to pull up his pants. Since that's in all likeliness what he was trying to do. They had body armor, big ass guns, and multiple people aimed at him. The guy couldn't realistically even get the gun pointed at them before they took him out even if they waited until they actually saw it. But thing is, he was unarmed. So if they had waited like 30 seconds, would've found out the man wasn't even armed. And no one would've lost their life.
