Short Video on the location of the Accumulator Spring , and how to swap it out. We Do offer a New Replacement on our site - see below www.cascadetransmissionparts.... CascadeTransmissionParts.Com
For those wanting to know what the 3-4 spring does (and if I recall correctly) it applies pressure to the piston to keep trans fluid from over-flooding the reservoir/pan and if it breaks will cause the valve body to shift into 4th gear.
I just took the plate off of the 3-4 accumulator to replace the spring and the plate itself where the spring seats get against it is worn. My transmission has over 210,000 miles. Even so I doubt that is normal. I don't suppose that you sell replacement plates do you?
Mine was broke I replaced it an still no overdrive. Overdrive worked fine before with broke spring. I replaced the solenoids sensors all that still nothing. Guess I need to replace the master solenoid kit. An take the valve body out. The truck has to be put in neutral 1st 2nd then drive to shift right. Done this on another dodge an it fixed it. This one didn't fix it
Yesterday I changed that resource, it was broken into 3 pieces, along with that, I changed the governor, pressure sensor, filter and everything else without removing the valve body... the only thing I noticed abnormal was the broken spring... Today it was driving very well, the changes felt smooth and it had super strength when starting... but after about 20 miles it went back to how it was before... again going from P to D hard hit, from 0 to 100 very slow and it already ran out of power again... I would like to know what would happen? If the resource broke again?
Not likely spring broke again but suggest checking fluid level while running In Neutral secondly where did you buy the parts ? fyi there is some sellers in U.S. selling bad offshore items * if same problem the seller should stand behind their items, unless other problem found --> a good pressure solenoid will ohm 4.2-4.3 Ohms , no way to test the sensor without a dyno
@@Quadman808 Hello... I checked the spring again and it was fine... I realized that the crankcase had a leak and I repaired it... I already put the correct oil level but it still has no power, the good thing is that the spring It is still complete and the other good thing is that the governor's fault code is gone... now I have to continue checking until I reach the fault (in fact I have a fault code P0601 indicating that the computer is damaged)
What is the aluminium piston called that the 3-4 accumulator spring sits inside? I want to replace the two Teflon rings on that piston, but nobody at the parts counter knows what the hell I'm asking for when I try to explain what I need? Please help.
if you're still seeking, its called the 3-4 piston if you're at a regular autoparts store most of those don't even have a source to get specialty items Cascade offers a 3-4 housing kit, you can place an order for that then in the order notes field say " NEED ONLY 3-4 PISTON RINGS " they're $15 shipped which is their minimum order amount and they normally arrive in the mail 3-4 days

these springs should be a redesigned like with maybe a bee hive type style valve spring. (2 springs that are meshed to produce the same force , but made of softer steel to avoid breaking) This should really be a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep recall fix as these springs are garbage for transmission use by MOPAR . They are a sure thing to break/fail eventually in millions of transmissions. Or atleast pay for the atf+4 and spring, Especially when i need to do my next spring fix.. Just because they are a easy swap does not make it right to have to use a weak/brittle spring.
