Dropping the rear exhaust is a couple bolts for the rear hangers, the front rubber hanger will support the exhaust from falling and will give you 3-4” extra inches for easier install. H&R and Moog FTW.

Thanks for the walkthrough!! Helped a lot when installing this same setup on my ‘17 Alltrack. Didn’t drop the exhaust and was able to wiggle the bar out. Then installed bar and then moogs 2nd. Not much give under there without a lift! Did have a buddy helping which cut some time. Also painted the moogs before install to avoid rust. Great results… arms are nice and sore after all the undercar yoga… so you know it was worth it ;)

So glad it helped out! I think you're really going to love the result - i definitely should have painted the moogs. I don't think I counted all the stupid mistakes I made in my time :) if i remember correctly. dropping the exhaust would have helped me a ton. I used a few clamps to help me out.

Way to be honest about your install experience! Love the simplicity of your vids and how clean and concise they are. Keep up the good work!

You're totally right, lowering the exhaust down a few inches makes a huge difference in this install. I did a rear sway bar on my 19 Alltrack, I removed the 13mm bolts from the muffler hangers and got a ton of space to work. Best bang for the buck upgrade to the car!

Good job! I used the same end links but with superpro 24mm. I spray painted the end links as they will rust in no time.

Best bang for your buck, just have to rastle with it for a bit to get it in! Love the additional notes at the beginning, it can look a little too easy watching someone else do it 😂!

Perfect timing! My white line bar and moog endlinks just came in this past week. I hit the endlinks with 2 coats of black spray paint as I saw it was recommended in the golfmk7 forums. Waiting for warmer weather for install

How do people go about torquing the rear endlinks??, my springs are in the way, as the nut is on the outside facing the compressed springs, theres just no clearance for a torque wrench? , H&R Springs with Superpro endlinks and swaybar. going to see if i can get a crowfoot, any other suggestions?
@DadWagon
@DadWagon 2 года назад
I also found torquing to be impossible. I tightened as best as possible.
@kevind3063
@kevind3063 2 года назад
For the Triple squares required, do they have to be the long version you have in your video or what a standard socket triple square work? Not sure if clearance with other items around these bolts causes a problem. I'm about to do this to my 19 Alltrack. Thank you for the video and install instructions.
@DadWagon
@DadWagon 2 года назад
just recently had to remove my RSB for another project - and i used the short version of the triple square. obviously, it depends on how long they are... but shorts should work.

@@DadWagon Thank you. Excited to try out the Solid 25mm H&R rear sway bar. I had a 13 GTI I sold to get the Alltrack. Also have my Sunday driver, an S20000 which makes it tough to go back to a tilting Alltrack. haha

I've never heard of Whiteline until recently, was cost the deciding factor or something else? Also are the bushings polymer or something else and do they need to be greased periodically? Sorry, one more question are any of the bolts stretch bolts and need to be replaced? Your videos are very well done and thanks for them, they're pretty straight forward without a lot of BS.
@DadWagon
@DadWagon 2 года назад
cost was a factor but not the main one. the main bars i considered was superpro, H&R and whiteline. The main reason for going with whiteline was their greaseless bushings. They're a self oiling rubber/plastic. I don't believe any of the sway bar bolts are stretch bolts. Thanks so much!
@harryberry474
@harryberry474 2 года назад
@@DadWagon ...I went with th H&R because it's made in Germany has greaseless bushings too, the Whiteline is made in Vietnam I'm sure the Whiteline is a good rear bar though. Now all I have to do is get off my butt and install it.

@@DadWagon ...I changed my mind about DIY on this. I got my car up on ramps yesterday to see what I'd encounter and partly because of my age and bad back and partly because of the close quarters to do this job I decided I'd rather pay the tuner shop. When I was under the car I assumed I'd have to remove the end links first but there's no way because the top end link bolt is impossible to get a triple square on to hold the shaft, I now realize you left end link attached to the bar during removal. I rewatched your video and noticed but like I said I'm in pain all too often anyway so tuner shop it is. The only problem with that is getting booked the wait is about 2-3 months!
@DadWagon
@DadWagon 2 года назад
@@harryberry474 Makes total sense. After most of these tight space and longer installs, I need a day or two to recover :) It is very tight under there and especially if you don't remove the exhaust (like I didn't), it can be a real pain.
@DTKWOK76
@DTKWOK76 3 года назад
Hi how did you manage to get the end link onto the sway bar? I'm having difficulty, the car is on ramps. Thank you.
@DadWagon
@DadWagon 3 года назад
I believe on one onside, i connected the endlink first to the sway bar. on the other side, i connected it to the swaybar after installing it in the control arm. I may have also used a jack to carefully lift the control arm a bit.
@DTKWOK76
@DTKWOK76 3 года назад
@@DadWagon thank you for the feedback. I ended doing as you had suggested. Ended up man-handling the second end link to the sway bar. Will be sore tomorrow, but totally worth it. 👍

hey, for your Moog end links, any issues since you owned it? my rear left (installef August 2021) has clicking sound since Feb and now pop since 2 days ago and it's f'd. thanks!
@DadWagon
@DadWagon 2 года назад
i swapped them out for some whiteline adjustable - but may be going back to them very soon. They're greasable - I take it you've added grease and that didn't solve the issue?
@lucienl9465
@lucienl9465 2 года назад
@@DadWagon i got new moog endlinks, haven't got the time for my friends to replace with old ones yet. i have grease them with Lucas (red) as i got both front and rear moog end links. could have been just a bad qc ones, as the right side is ok. but we turn right the most on and off highway ramps, driveway etc. idk if the extra stress cause it to wear out quicker. Thanks to you, i use 16+18mm wrench on ramp to ensure they were tight when i first got them. they are still tight and fully grease maybe i over grease them the boot became loose and dirt may have gotten in and ruin it? i will update once i get my new ones in and send old ones back to ROckAuto for warranty

They did/do their job. A much better replacement than the stock piece. Recently I swapped mine out for some adjustable ones I received from whiteline. No real specific reason other than lowering the car further with coilovers.
