Whitney was amazing. The power of her voice blows you away. I like Mariah and Celine too, but Whitney is my personal favorite. She causes emotions with her voice like no other. Thank you, I'm so happy you did this one! She IS The Voice. The tone, the vibrato, the lightning fast riffs; from her powerful chest voice to that operatic, strong and still silky head voice. She was amazing and I love her with all my heart. Every live performance she did was different. She breathed music and she couldn't do anything different than improvise throughout her songs. I love your 'ugly' face at the good moments, a true sign of a musical being! 😁 Not saying that you're ugly, you're actually really cute :)

I grew up with Whitney and have seen her in concert. The live experience is unreal. Her voice literally transforms the atmosphere in the room. If you get a chance, you should check out "All The Man I Need" from this Japan concert. It's one of the first versions she performed when the album started touring. All of her live performances are amazing, of course, however this version, featuring her interplay with the saxophone player (Kirk Whaklum) is truly breathtaking. Another performance for comparison is All the Man for the billboard awards that year. A total different take but equally amazing for her interpretation. Thank you for your work.

@Kay A Agreed. I had a vocal teacher once who taught that part of the key was learning how to relax in your voice. The thing I love about the billboard version of "All The Man" is that this is the most unique version of all of them. She had been singing the song all year and touring- it was everywhere. She finally took a break at years end and this was her first reappearance for the awards season so she was well rested and in full voice. She knows everybody has heard the song a thousand times that past summer so she decides to put a jazz twist on it-and sings BEHIND the melody (not right on the downbeats) the whole time!!! It's subtle and brilliant and just as powerful. I miss her voice in the world.

You touched on a few things that set Whitney apart. The precision, her ability to go from soft to insanely powerful, and her tasteful embellishments. Other singers are very polarizing. Whitney had a little something for everyone to enjoy, and she made it look easy.

'In Return' from this same concert is also amazing. It's a slow gospel song, and not as well known, so you might not want to do that if you want some views, but you should definitely check it out 🤗. Towards the end, you can her some of her most beautiful vocals. No crazy belts, but the most delicate, poised singing I've ever heard Other Whitney suggestions: -The Greatest Love Of All (either Wembley '88 or the one in the blue dress on the channel 'JustWhitneyH': she always kills this one but these are my favorites and I can't choose bewteen them) -Loverman/My Man/All The Man I Need (from the channel GingerSpice414: great medley on the Billboard Musical Awards, in her prime and in complete command over her voice, the music and the crowd) -When You Believe (with Mariah on Oprah!) - A Song For You (from the Whitney Houston channel, this might get blocked? I heard they can be difficult when it comes to stuff they have on their channel, but it's an amazing cover of the classic Donny Hathaway song)

Loved it! Whitney Houston has an anointed voice, she started as a gospel singer and that says it all. She is the whole package, voice, looks, height, personality(to name a few). I love that song it was from her first album back in the 80's, R.I.L Whitney and thank you again.

First time I heard this one was a few weeks back. I mean, I heard this song before but not this performance and I was blown away. This is the best I ever heard her sing. Anyway, I wanted to see if others could hear what I heard so I looked for reactions and yours is my fav. It’s like we both felt the same things at the exact times listening to her singing this.

I find one equivalent to Whitney Houston. That equivalent is Stevie Ray Vaughan. Seek out his live performances and tell me his live guitar / vocal performances are not on par with Houston's vocal performances. Mavericks. Spiritualists. Prophets. Truly of the same enchanted spirits.
