@@lena-nq6ee you are right but still I wouldn’t pay $19 for pho lol the average price is like $15 but I eat it once in a while I could just pretty much make my own pho for $15 for a week lol
@Iako lol my bloodline is fine mate. I tip when I'm visiting the States. Fine dining in Aus also. Not routine here because there's a decent minimum wage.
Too much. And these the type that have jobs where they literally don't do shit all day. Crazy how we live in a world where the lazy make more and spend all there money on stupid shit like a fuckin salmon sandwich
@@hamburgerham6197 they? Learn English, different places have different currency 12 usd could be the equivalent to a million in another part of the world.
Its not shit. Don't call food shit, there people who don't have any. I know its a joke and I don't want to sound like a karen but just watch what you say.
My burrito bowl for lunch today came to $19 with only 1 up charge for adding guacamole… anything made with fresh ingredients has risen in price significantly. Unfortunately this is the new normal.
There are those who pay 20$ for a lunch and there is some like our boss who makes 15k a month and brings his porridge and his fruit to assemble his breakfast in the office kitchen 😂
@@wendymonkelien-brown579 No it does. Organizing grocery shopping list, grocery shopping itself. Searching for recepies, learning recipes, consistently executing on those receipies, maintaining and checking in on your current food stock. You probably have it all ingrained into your habits so it's no biggie for you, but in reality it's a lot of time and effort.
Where do you live sir/ma’am ?! I live in Orange County , California where there is pho galore. It averages $12-15 a bowl now for all the fixings sadly :(
@@yumburger4823 Yikes that’s expensive! I live in ABQ, NM. There are some Vietnamese restaurants that are more expensive but they’re on the nicer side of town. The place I buy from is still $9, which they recently raised their prices up from $7.50 due to inflation and the cost of meat.
Oh man, my best lunch days are the ones I can afford to split a rotisserie chicken up for the week with a salad pack or a head of cabbage on top of ramen. Feel that!
after working a shift you should be able to spend 20 on a meal. capitalist slave mentality 😭 if you are comfortable with spending on your lunch then that’s fine
Beyond stupid. But this is how people with well payi g jobs where they do absolutely shit eat everyday. While people who actually drive countries live off scraps.. fkn Ludacris
@@PhilippBlum it’s actually Sydney/Melbourne, Australia. This is Buzfeed Oz. The prices in this video are in AUD, not usd. So a $19 aud meal = ~$12 usd for reference. These are standard prices here, even a fast food meal is $20 aud.
I have a feeling people don't understand that this is probably in Australian Dollar, which means a 20 AUD lunch would just be 13 USD, which is not that unreasonable tbh.
Imagine your whole work life depends on you being trendy during lunch Edit: 4.2k likes hmm. For the people that cant handle the truth this video is taken in a buzzfeed office. A place where people have the need to feel validated every second of the day. Plus thinking this group of female work friends didnt just go "OMG WE SHOULD LIKE TOTALLY DO A TIKTOK ON THE FOOD WE EAT DAILY BUT ACTUALLY JUST GET SOME MAINSTREAM INSTAGRAMMABLE FOOD" while trying to flex on everyone with fucking noodles and or salmon dishes.
@@makkerfelix and it’s the way they all think they doing something unique by being a healthy influencer or whatever but just ended up bringing in different forms of salmon lmao. Sis with the chicken sandwich knew what she was doing, fried chicken never goes out of style
People don’t seem to understand that $19 AUD is only $12.36 USD, so in reality it’s not that expensive it just seems like heaps more than what your used to even though it’s the exact same price.
@@cottanibuni2753 it’s all good :) the only real thing that kind of points it out is that the channel is BuzzfeedOz but again it’s not really that obvious.
@@A_C_E1537 true but comparing Australia with Vietnam is like comparing an elephant to a mouse when it comes to prices & salary 😅 like all in all I agree that Australia‘s pretty expensive
@@user-qo8om3zt3g Where do you think the government gets that money? Do you think that money just materializes? higher minimum wages are supported by taxpayers. Sure, your minimum wage is now higher, but your cost of living is now also higher.
Yo, just want to put it out there. We dont tip here in Australia and if we do, it’s not 10% of the bill. It’s up to us how much. Second, they are probably getting paid around $23-$30 an hour, depending on their responsibilities. If you are shocked by how much they spent their food, those prices are pretty normal here. Of course there are actually food that’s obvs a lot cheaper but it also depends on the location, how good it is, what ingredients are being used. My work cafeteria in Western Syd sells medium sized coffee for 5-6 bucks which is probably a small-sized coffee for you lot
wow sohan is ridiculously beautiful. i guess i haven’t watched buzzfeed in a very long time because i’m shocked that there’s hot people working there. honestly
