Reliability, Maintenance cost are key. Who needs top performance when most of the Highway speed limits are just 80kmph and in City you can't even drive above 50. These cars have so many electical issues and almost every 2 months you will find new issue. Forget about Jeep brand. Jeep Chysler is most unreliable brand in the world. Skoda Kushak and Taigun are sold as Creta rival but these SUVs are as small as sub 4 meter cars. In our family we have TATA and Maruti cars but in Maruti I have never found single issue other than periodic service maintenance and break pad replacement because of wear and Tear. In TATA, I noticed several small issues like AC, rattling sound, Door sound when opeing.

Biggest problem with Skoda is that they won’t let their existing customers be happy too… I requested alloy wheel upgrade and was told that warranty will be denied! Imagine asking Skoda to install Monte Carlo alloy wheels on my kushaq even then they have an issue granting warranty..these companies just can’t keep customers happy…

Maybe you need to visit different skoda service centre. I have kushaq ambition variant and I checked with Trinity skoda about the cost to upgrade style variant alloy wheels. They shared the cost. Upgrading alloy wheels or installing DVR dashcam will not void warranty. I even installed window crome garnish from the skoda service centre and they are ready to upgrade the window side plastic panels to style variant glass panel with a cost of 10k. As the part was not available with them they have ordered it. They even asked me whether I want to upgrade the front grill to anniversary edition grill too. Your nearby skoda service centre people seems to be inexperienced guys. Check with any other skoda service centre they will change the alloy wheels and other parts.

1.) General public thinks 1l tsi engine is small, they don't match power figure. 2.) Diesel is not offered. 3.)They must offer non turbo engine option as well in 1.5l 4.) Skoda has funnest technology in cng, but they don't use it in india.

What about service network ? 1. Jeep don't have their network on tier 3 cities. 2. Cost of parts are too high. If you buy these cars 2nd hand you will definitely looted. 3. Less products & high margins on existing line up, result in this overpriced.

Major reason is the old baggage of poor reputation in maintenance cost too due to which potential customers doesn’t even consider these cars. I used VW polo from 2010-2017 and later could match Ford Ecosport to that level of quality in each aspect. But those 7 years of ownership of VW I had numerous headaches and struggles for AC then fan noise and then cost of service is never less than 10K. I feel bad after Ford’s exit but their service is still good and cost effective.. If you ask me I would never buy a VW car with my hard earned money or would recommend anyone ever .

Interior is not great, there is no premiumness. 2. For me all knobs are same, all plastic body at 20lac. Ventilated seats are very noisy. Left side leg at rest position hurts due to lack of space. Not enough space for rear passenger for 3 seating at 20lac. All they have introduced a good engine and digital cockpit. Rest all was standard already. Well I feel there is a massive change in auto industry post COVID time and BS6 norms also changed the scenario entirely! There are few observations I would like to share! 1.All major automakers stopped making diesel cars except tata,Mahindra,Toyota and Koreans! 2. We Indian consumers like sub4 Mt cars more than sedans although it has more asking price and less space inside and boot than a proper sedan (mid variants)sometime back! 3. Prices of sedans like virtus and slavia in both config like 1.0 and 1.5 seems extremely overpriced compared to vento and rapid with 1.5 tdi's 2 to 3 years back! 4. you don't get that solid built feel from these vw and skoda cars nowadays! 5. When we talk about 10 years policy on diesel cars in cities, I mean who uses these cars more than that, and also what is the life span of EVs and the price we pay for? 6. I think if our homegrown brands can make diesel cars with superb build quality and feature rich cars at affordable price so why not other global brands not able to do so! 7.skoda and vw can still sell in good nos if they consider diesels. 8.Turbo petrol engines are fun to drive but will give single digit mileage when driven hard ,on the other hand diesels can match both factors! 9. Jeep compass is excellent vehicle but bad pricing kills the sales. 10.kushaq and taigun are good in performance and driving dynamics but seems like sub 4m car compared to Koreans! 11.Cars like Octavia and superb are excellent products compared to same catagory or above, but can't perform well without diesels,that is the reason for its discontinuation. Sad story is... We will miss a few fantastic cars in coming years!!

You are spot on with your Review on all 6 Cars from FIAT & VW-SKODA. VW-Skoda Cars has history of being high on Maintenance in India. With 2.0 launch & high localisation of Kushaq-Tiagun buyers were confident it would be Maintenance friendly & Cars would be offered at affordable Indian Pricing. But it turned out to expensive than expected especially the 1.5 TSI. At the same time 1.5 was not offered in the lower segment. Yet people had faith & confidence in VW-Skoda Quality. But it fell short of expectations with lot many issues & problems in Quality of their Cars. At the same time because of Semiconductor few features were shuffled or removed from lower variants. All the above did not go well with Indian buyers hence to certain extent their Cars were Rejected because of Inferior Quality in manufacturing inspite it was offered with 4 Years Free Maintenance Package & RSA. Before they Launched the Co. claimed they have Tested their Cars for 7 lacs kms in all Indian Road & Weather Conditions. Hence they have to blame themselves for Misleading & Compromise in Quality.

VW and Skoda had 18L, they spent it on: 1. Engine - Which is a beast 2. Car Safety & Build Quality - NCAP 5 Star 3. Practicality Other brands (Kia, Hyundai) had spent the same amount on: 1. Interiors 2. Infotainment 3. Look & Feel VW and Skoda has spent money on things which people of today's day and age have very low on priority. People these days, don't really care about such important parameters. This is a mindset difference. I shifted from Maruti to VW Taigun in October 2022. Once you drive a Volkswagen, you don't want to drive anything else, because at the heart of it you know that you are sitting in the safest car of the segment and have an engine which is an absolute beast. Too bad that in the age of Instagram, people prefer only flashy and gimmicky items like Seltos or Creta

I used Honda City for 10 years then took VW Taigun GT. The big improvement is driving. The driving experience of Taigun is way better than all the eight cars of these range I took test drive before finalising. Honda City driving experience is nothing compare to Taigun. Taigun’s driving is marvellous, it talks with me. Yes, the interior, finishing, the problem of driver side power window etc are negative side. But the touch screen and manoeuvring overcomes the dissatisfaction. The great advantage is parking, it is so easy to park any place in crowded city like Hyderabad, way better than Honda City. The smoothness in steering and high speed stability is unmatched. I could not dare to go beyond 80 kmph in City as engine struggles, Taigun reaches 120 like a toy. The mileage of this car is around 14-17 in Hyderabad in my hand which was 13.6 for Honda City. Though I am not an aggressive driver. Yes, VW should focus on small glitches more, instead of leaving it to change based on customer feedback if they want Japanese standard. I forgot to mention sports mode it’s ohooo❤, I don’t find any car surrounding if I put sports mode in ORR.

Performance, looks or infotainment are no match to reliability. After spending lakhs of rupees if one has to rush to the service center multiple times for the rectification of various issues then it spoils the whole experience. A lot of times neither the companies nor the service centers have any idea what's wrong with their particular model. Moreover, the time a newly purchased car spends in a service center is in no way compensated by the manufacturer/dealer in any way. So, if a person owns a single expensive car and it breaks down then they have to rely on cabs or other modes of public transport which is obviously not convenient. Situation becomes even worse if the owner does not live in a major city or close to the service center. So, at the end reliability triumphs every other feature in the car. Because if a car is not driveable it does not even deserve to be called a car. Something which applies to the cars that have regularly been in the news as they had to be towed to take them to their service center.

After sale service and poor network is the main reason for these brands not able to sell their cars. I own a Vento 1.2TSI 2016 model and now also a Kushaq 1.0 TSI ambition 2022 model I live in NCR as such due to the yr limit I was looking for a petrol car, and at the price point of 14 L approx the Kushaq / Taigun was the best of the lot. But when I compare my vento quality with a 1.2 TSI engine (4 cylinder), DSG gearbox, the planted steering, and the drive quality, I miss that in the Kushaq (even though it’s the best of the lot at that price point). The noise of the 3 cylinder engine, the AC, the wipers and the windows make is not ideal for a premium car even though I paid 1 lakhs extra (Ofcrs 2016 to 2022 prices). I agree with most of ur facts. A top end Taigun or a Kushaq is overpriced. The rates may also be because of the taxes and the priority given to the safety standards. Another problem is while the width is more than the vento/ rapid, but you can’t seat 3 at the back, unless it’s a child. But I still believe as a package at the present price point, they offer a very good deal. I think the myth of high maintenance expenses of VW/ Skoda cars is what the company needs to break.

One big problem is they not giving Naturally Aspirated Engines which have lower maintenance costs. Only Turbo as an option. Then no CNG or Full Hybrid engine option like Honda City has. Some would prefer NA 1.5 Ltr 4 cylinder engine rather than 1 Ltr 3 cylinder Turbo Add to it if in such cars people don't feel comfortable with AC then for what they would like to go for that. Now temp soars around 45 °C during peak summers in my place then AC performance will be the most important factor in my case for purchasing any car. Turbo engines have higher maintenance costs so unless there is top notch need for speed I wouldn't like to invest in Turbo Engines. One can say anything but their maintenance comes around 70-80 K and normal petrol engine won't ask for such maintenance for more than 1 Lac kilometres. No diesel option isn't a problem. They should have given hybrid stuff instead or CNG option with NA engine. If they gonna keep on giving only petrol cars they can't make big dent in sales of other manufacturers. Also, before this Made in India cars like Virtus, Slavia, Taigun and Kushaq VW was carrying a good name atleast. How can their cars give EPC issue while other maufacturer cars giving no issues even on normal petrol. Why would one want a car that can get u stranded anywhere in the middle of drive ? These things along with obvious cost cutting has only tarnished their reputation. They should have given the sort of cars they were giving earlier. No one believes localization means compromise in quality bcz we can get higher quality stuff too and inferior stuff also for the same part manufactured by different manufacturers. People weren't thinking for resale value in these cars and later reliability too came into consideration. In such a scenario if we start getting good build quality cars from Suzuki then VW won't be able to sell as much as they are able to bcz one can say anything but their cars hardly give any issues. Upon crash the case is different but reliability is top notch. After spending a hefty amount why would u or anyone else gonna consider a car of such a brand that has reliability issues. The cars should be tested for more than 1 Lacs kilometer before launching them in the market. So, how come they not show any issue in test drivings but later if a customer purchases it then they start showing issues. They need to prepare cars as per quality of fuel available here. Not 95 octane petrol only sort models

I have a VW virtus , my car doesn't have even a single problem. Only myths are circulating in the market. Epc issue only came in some of the cars of the starting batch of these cars after that there was no issue. I also have a polo 1.2 tdi , been driving it for the past 10 years 2,10,000 approx kms driven. Absolutely no problem with the engine and turbo. These cars are very reliable. You know what, it's a fact, in VW's case, the cars are reliable but the customers are not 🤣. The only downside of this company is that the cars don't fetch a good resale price because that is what a so called customer wants. VW only needs to work on its image more and not the cars. I had suzuki and hyundai cars before as well and they are shit and their service centres don't treat customers nicely and take their problems for granted, but VW doesn't do this, atleast where I get my car serviced my experience has always been good.

@@rs5829 sir resale value isn't an issue if we keep cars long enough like 13-15 years. After that there is almost same resale value for most cars anyways. Yeah initial lot had problems but not sure about AC performance of it still. U know temp soars around 45 °C in Delhi/NCR during peak summers. I am not aware if they will be able to do the job In most cases not much maintenance might be required agreed but if some issue occurs in turbo engines then one needs to pay a hefty amount. Till 1 Lacs Kms we can't really say anything about most engines.
@rs5829
@rs5829 Год назад
@@tarunsingh6292 I agree , that if a car is kept long enough resale doesn't matter. Regarding the ac issue, my experience with virtus was that its ac made a periodical hissing sound when it started cooling. So, I thought it was a problem , but I also had to go for the checkup after a month since it was a new car. When I went for the car checkup at the service center, I asked them for the details of the complete checkup they were doing, the service staff said that there was a software update for the ac that needed to be done. I was ok with that update. After the update, the car ac made relatively very less noise and the the cooling of the ac became much smoother than before and the issue was resolved. Now, since I use the ac everyday, the slight noise that was left has also stopped. The ac unit is slightly bigger than that of my polo and all the parts are the same. My Polo's ac performed very well in 47 degrees as well , so it's safe to say that virtus' ac will do the same. Regarding the engine, yes the engine is a new unit and longterm reviews are less as of now , so I understand that people don't want to risk a large amount of money on a car that is fairly new in the market as compared to its competition that's selling for almost 2 decades .

Not a single car is perfect ....kuch na kuch Kami hogi zaroor. Like you said about skoda cars....looks, designs, pricing , body quality, fuel economy, after sales service, service centres, spare parts etc etc. You cannot find a single car who fulfill all these criteria. Kuch na kuch nuks nikal hi jayega kahin na kahin. Priority ke hisaab se hi log apni car lete hain. Pricing, looks, features, body sturdiness. According to me Maruti has all these qualities except " Body Sturdiness". Jis din bhi maruti ne body strong kar di ussi din se maruti ke alawa shayad hi koi car apko roads PE Nazar aaye. I love all company cars bcoz according to these companies they are giving the best product. Skoda cars excellent hai but pricing ka kya..spare parts price ka kya?? The diesel one can also be blaimed on the delhi govt that is also the reason why many people and companies are resisting from diesels . Vw and skoda are trying to lower their price so cost cutting is done on the interior side rather than the chasis or the sheet metal like other companies do . If only Jeep lowers the price of cars they will sell more . Finally if they improve their reliability than they will sell very well .

The problem is Manufacturers like Skoda/ VW/JEEP / Ford/ GM are not used to do cost cutting in terms of quality. People expect top-notch quality, performance, handling with safety from these brands. But all these come with increased price which the price sensitive buyer can't tolerate. Ford didn't relent under the pressure and left the market altogether Skoda/ VW went for 2.0 strategy and compromised with quality in their initial lots with issues like EPC, AC , Rattling noise, Fit and finish issues. So consumers are not very much confident about reliability Toyota stopped almost all their original products in budget segment and offers only Innova and Fortuner. They have started selling rebadged ' Kachra' under their so called partnership So, presently consumers ( even upto 20 lakhs on road price) don't have much options left which offer all : Quality, Safety, Ride quality, Good After sales support

I am an ardent VW fan. Have 2 Ventos in house. The older 1.2TSI with DSG and the new 1.0TSI MT. The 2.0 products dont have the same level of handling sharpness as the previous Polo, Vento. Moreover it is so heartbreaking so see that even the top end models have such lacklustre, to be frank - sub-par, interiors. Its no wonder people arent taking them readily bcoz why shouldnt a customer demand for at least soft plastic and good interiors for a 20 Lakhs plus car?! I also personally feel irritated that they, even on high end variants, dont iffer global variants in entirety. Take the case of Tiguan for example. If see other country variants that Tiguan is offered in then you will find that ours is a type of "na ghar ka na ghaat ka". VW will counter by saying that "no market". How did u understand that? For the aadha-adhura-beech ka latka type product that u offer, obviously at 33.5 lakhs, very few takers BUT DID U EVER GIVE US THE ENTIRE PORTFOLIO TO CHOOSE FROM? Similar is the case with other group premium vehicles too! Audi for example. Why isnt A4 getting the Quattro? Why Q3 is advertised on Audi India with global variant alloy wheel whereas in reality the actual alloys are simply just boring and void type!!! No sequential turn indicators in Q3? Even on premium variants its such a confusing half-hearted approach! Its very very disheartening. Also others do make good products. The i20NLine has a better steering than the erstwhile Polo. So what bluebloodishness they are trying to prove and showoff - its very difficult to understand and pains to see but VW continues to show off its arrogance and indifference towards India

Some of the major reasons according to me are 1. Product Positioning and Pricing. Kushaq 1.0 Lt TSI AT costs 1729000 ex showroom and Kia Sonet 1.0 Lt GTX costs 1369000 ex showroom. Kuhaq / Taigun 1.0 Lt models are competitors of Sonet, Venue in terms of its engine output. 2. Expensive fuel required. 95 octane 3. Expensive maintenance. 4. Lack of infrastructure in India to experience the true potential of performance.
@3rdclasstatamahindrabajajRE
95 octane why ? Any cars manufactured in India dosent really required 95octane. R&D knows fuel quality in India and accordingly they are built. In fact, superbikes doesn't really required 95 octane until and unless, rider prefers.

And they are not value for money product either. If only 5 star crash rating matters most most have an alternative in TATA or Mahindra though they too have their share of reliability issue. Taigun or Kushaq still look like a raised Hatchback, not very generous in head room and visibility, looks cramped 4.) Suspension, build quality have reduced 5.) No major features offered compared to competition 6.) No stand out feature that brings a WoW factor when compared to other cars in the SUV segment. In fact none of the car brands are offering any value for money cars. All are waste cars that cant be sold anywhere else. Majority of Indians are like, mujhe accha mileage chahiye, because mein wahi paise apni mayyat par lagaunga. people just for some weird reason, keep on buying unsafe cars like espresso, swift, wagonR, i10, i20, CRETA, etc and completely ignore the better build cars. Being 5 star cars alone cannot be the yardstick for selection as Maruti andd Hyundai cars that do not participate in NCAp tests sell like hotcakes. So VW and Skoda has to offer Value for money as the selling point. Why shud Taigun be selected over say an XUV 700 or a Nexon for that matter both of which offer 5 star rating. Hyryder and Grand Vitara might not be the best car in terms of driving experiences but are very affordable in terms of mileage and prices they are offered and that’s why Grand Vitara became 3rd highest selling SUV within just few months. They brought both CNG and Hybrid variants which is like sone pe suhaga. I like Honda cars a lot but I feel if Honda doesn’t come up with affordable hybrid option in their upcoming midsize SUV then soon Honda might join VW, Skoda and Jeep brands in terms of sales number.
