Korean department stores have been the love of my life for the past 12 years since I first visited Korea. There’s so many tasty and unique treats hidden away in the basement floor of department stores here. Although there is so much in just one food court along I’d need to make a three hour long vide too show you them all let me take you on a tour of a few amazing shops that I found. It was definitely the gold leaf bubble tea that inspired me to make this video, I’m still dreaming about those pearls!

bruhhhh, in the US our food courts have like the same 5 fast food chains and a japanese resturant to be inclusive. THIS IS WHY I WANT TO MOVE ;-;

Yeah I'm from Singapore where food courts are similar to those in this vid, and when I lived in the US and UK their food courts actually depressed me (tbh the vast majority of their infrastructure is depressing compared to Asia LOL)

food courts that I grew up seeing in america were always in malls and mainly just like....McDonald's. This food court looks AMAZING such a lovely video

Same growing up in Australia! McDonalds, KFC and Hungry Jacks (Burger King in America). Korea was such an amazing shock when I saw the food courts here!

We have a Filipino sponge cake called mamon, looks similar to the castella, its so good. Reminds me of exactly that with how fluffy it is.

The concept of food courts is pretty common here in India. We usually have them on the topmost floor in malls. We have many Indian regional cuisines, American fast food joints, Indo-Chinese fusion food, Italian, Mexican, French, Japanese and so many more. I'm pretty sure that we'll have Korean food trends soon here. Kpop and Kdrama has a huge following in India and the Amazon here has started delivering Ramyun, kimchi etc which are a huge hit!❤️

This food court looks like the ones the US had in department stores in the late 70's/early 80's, even down to the plants and table benches. For some reason they all started being taken out in the last 80's /early 90's and when the stores were renovated they installed only a few generic fast food counters in one small area.

They are similar to the David Jones food courts here in Australia but as you said a lot of the them are no longer. The best I saw was in Harrods in the UK - that food court is out of this world and full of the most amazing foods. The Korean one looks awesome. You guys are so cute.

If you want amazing, try the Korean buffets. The good ones are at the western hotels. Tons of seafood and other goodies. All for a reasonable price.

QV in Melbourne Australia is a recommended place with amazing Food courts and yes ins in the basement levels 😂 there is also a bunch of great food options on ground level and a cool Asian supermarket which sells a lot of what I can’t get in other places. Ps the first thing I would get here is the Brown Sugar Milk Tea I love those but I don’t need the gold on it lol actually hoping to move to Korea in a couple years once Covid has settled down with my partner who is Korean. He misses Korea a lot and I have wanted to live there for many years even before I meet him.

this food court seems glorious. the food courts in the states are nothing fun or special. just major fast food chains and chinese and japanese restaurants fit for american tastes with not a lot of authentic dishes sadly. it was cool to see boba shop and some thai restaurants pop up but it's not very often. i hope i get to go to this food court one day, everything looks so good!

How easy would you say it is, to get vegetarian food in South Korea? I feel like it would be so hard 😳

I'm a year late but, even though Koreans do love meat, there are many vegetarian options as they also consume lots of tofu and veggies. Stews, hotteok, gimbap, jeon etc are vegetarian or can be made vegetarian. Finding food which doesn't contain animal products might be difficult but it's not impossible. I think with enough research you can find good vegetarian spots in Korea. Maybe in big cities there will be more vegan restaurants :)

If you live in South Korea most stores sell them however as far as I know there’s still a ban on exporting masks so it might be hard to find them overseas.
