The ankle joint is a very under rated area of the body that usually gets ignored until there’s a problem. And while pain is more often than not present with ankle issues, noise in the form of a pop or snap might also persist. Although it’s not necessarily painful, this still might cause some concern or at the very least trigger curiosity. What is this noise caused by, is it dangerous and how can you get rid of it fast? A.J. answers this question from a scientific perspective.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Perform squat (or whatever movement causes ankle click) to get a baseline of what the noise sounds like before stretches
2) Pick one of the stretches listed below and hold it for 1-2 minutes
3) Re-test the movement again and check to see if there is any improvement
IF IMPROVEMENT IS NOTICED: This muscle group is likely contributing to the noise
IF NO IMPROVEMENT IS NOTICED: This muscle group is likely not contributing to the noise
