I don don’t think you are cheap, you are actually very clever. You want to use your money for what really matters to you and you don’t want to sacrifice your time doing something you don’t enjoy to buy things that other people think that we need ❤. I am happy you realize that so early in life 😊

@SunnyKindJourney & @anashappydays, I totally agree. Sève is quite comfortable in his own company and saves sufficient funds to travel & admire different places. It's just a good way to live. 'Cheap' ? Rubbish. What they are not telling you: maintenance of expensive items cost a good amount. If those items collapse, and you cannot have it repaired, then that person is in exactly the same situation as not having it. Those unusable items / junk takes up space, shrinking the room size, so to speak, available for living.

I like being able to tell people about my washer and dryer, which is from the 90's...my husband has repaired both of them a couple of times. But it actually works better than the newer models. Im so proud of it, lol😂

Yeah my parents do also have a washer from the 90's, mainly for the dogs stuff because of the hair, but it works better than their newer one 😂

Exactly, you can replace a simple part instead of having to buy another new one! Same goes for my Dyson Animal that's 25years old 😂 You hear all the stories about people going cordless and then wondering why it doesn't charge / battery life going etc... Sod that! 😂

As someone who found simplicity and minimalism decades ago I would say that greatly impacted my freedom. I had to retire at 51. Had I not been frugal and saved when I got sick I would still have to work. As for spending, I think that the guilt is just part of the habits that we built in order to get ourselves to the place that we are financially. For the most part 90% of people don’t get to financial freedom without sacrifice. By the time you get there you don’t value stuff very much anymore. I love your channel & message. Wishing you all the best.

I live a simple life because I wish to live lightly upon the earth. Living this way brings me joy and peace. These things insulate me from criticism of my life style. It is a mistake to think that this can be achieved without a thoughtful process. I am glad to see that you have designed a course of study to guide others along this path so that what took me half a lifetime to achieve might not take others so long. Hurray for you and your endeavor.

I think that people should do with their money what they want. Spend it on things that matter most to you. For some people that's having 7 pairs of shoes every month, for others it's traveling. I'm not frugal, but I have little expenses every month which allows me to save up a lot. That allowed me to travel on my own without having to scrimp and stay in low-budget hostels.

Well said, I think all comes down to self-awareness at the end and being conscious of your own choices whatever they are 🤗

Great job, Seve! While I'm more frugal now, I had to learn how bad debt is on my skin a few times, and it was a costly but great lesson. Holding on to some things is definitely cool, and it gives them personality! I have bought a new laptop a few years ago, after having the previous one for 11 years. The cool thing is that some research goes a long way (like how easy it is to replace a component, upgrade, etc). Was wondering if you'd consider an idea for a future video: simple living in the urban vs rural environment :D
@SunnyKindJourney
@SunnyKindJourney 2 месяца назад
Thanks for the comment and idea! 😊 I might find it hard to make since I live in urban environment and only do short camping trips in nature and not actually live there but I really hope one day I will be able to move and make it happen 😉

Hi Seve! Been watching your videos for hours. I love your videos and its inspiring me. I'm just confused about the house thing. I bought a house even though it won't make me money because by loaning to buy a house, it saves me from paying rent and a house is actually an appreciating asset in my country (because of rising land costs). You think that's still a good move? Cause I think so. Anyway, just wanted to comment cause I see you take time replying to comments. Keep being awesome, Seve!
@SunnyKindJourney
@SunnyKindJourney 26 дней назад
Well, I have to say I am not a financial advisor 😄 But generally becoming an "owner" in many things in life is a great move financially, especially long-term. There are many places where buying a house is not a good move but for example in my country and city, it is. I just personally can't afford one right now but otherwise would definitely buy myself a home. Just be mindful with loan interests and think when it's a good time to buy one, and also be mindful of your own needs. As a minimalist, buying a huge home I don't need with a big loan can also be a bad move for the mental health. Hope this helps! 😊

I'm too smart and frugal to pay for your ridiculous course. I recommend working part time and actually contributing something helpful to society. I hope none of you "Content Creators" ever show up in my ER in the dire need of help...

Just because Seve is self-employed, it doesn't mean that he is not contributing to our society. He is unique and no one can take his place. He has told us earlier that he likes to lend a hand if someone needs help, not everyone wants to do that. Don't criticize someone who does good.

Real strange that people on RU-vid that sell books or a course how to be frugal… asking people to spend money to provide for you while you are so frugal! I am very frugal and smart with money 💰

I actually quit my old job to contribute to society more through sharing my knowledge with my course 😄 I believe sharing my message and helping people to create a more meaningful life this way, I'm much more of use than if I did many other jobs. This is just my take on things though, who knows what's the absolute truth
