Hello and Happy New Year! In the first Kitten School video of 2022, we meet a very special foster cat with a rather, um, feisty attitude and a gaping neck wound that needs healing. Logan Roy, like his namesake from the HBO series "Succession", is one tough feline boss and probably instilled terror in every other male cat he encountered during his life on the streets. Somehow he ended up at the shelter, and now he's here at Kitten School to get some much-needed medical care...AND to learn some manners! Despite the scratches he's given me, I can tell there's a good heart under that tough-guy exterior -- but I can't say the same about his ferocious television counterpart!
Also in this video, I have VERY exciting news about a book project I have been working on for over the past year: 'My Dad's Funnier Than Your Dad' is a memoir that I co-wrote with Kelly Conway, daughter of the late beloved comic and actor Tim Conway. In the book, Kelly tells about having the world's funniest dad and what it was like growing up the daughter of a television star in Los Angeles. Oh yes, he really would rather be outside doing his tomcat thing than be in a crate! He isn't fixed yet as the vet wants to wait until the neck wound heals a bit more. AND one of my momma cats is in heat (she's getting fixed next week), so the two of them are trading love calls to each other across the room. Poor Logan Roy! No wonder he wants to swipe my head off!

It's hard to say. We have a stray that adapted to indoor life beautifully and has never shown any interest in going outside again.

@@KittenSchool To me he looks like he gets overstimulated easily, and obviously he has some pain from that gnarly neck wound, but I see a longing in his eyes to trust again. I have no doubt he will get there with your care

That is SO awesome (your side gig writing)!!! Congratulations on the new book! I'm of the age that remembers Tim Conway on "Carol Burnett", "McHale's Navy" and many more. It's a shame that kind of comedian (alongside the likes of Harvey Korman, Don Knotts, Jonathan Winters, etc) is virtually an extinct breed. I guess it was back when America was in a much more "innocent age", so to speak. As for kitties getting treated, I do notice that a lot of cats understand when they're being doctored and appreciate it, though maybe not showing it so much early on! Thanks for your channel and keep em coming!! Looking forward to a great 2022 at Kitten School!

Thank you so much for the nice comment! Yes, entertainment was much different in those days. And there were only three major networks on TV to choose from. With our world of streaming and anything you want to see on demand, it's crazy to think that it was once that way.

Yes, if he gets cleared at his check up next week, he certainly will be out of the Tom Cat Club! I think once he is fixed he will mellow out a bit. All he wants to do now is figure out how to break out of his crate and go find some babes.

You never know what you're going to learn from Kitten School! I didn't know Conway had passed away, or maybe I forgot. I do remember him on the Carol Burnett Show and other TV appearances. He was always very funny and entertaining. I think he was on SNL, to, but not sure. I'm not huge TV watcher. You probably know Betty White recently passed at age 99. I remember her well, too. As far as cats are concerned, I think they know when people are helping them. They even know how to ask for help if in distress. I hope Logan Roy makes a full recovery and finds the home he deserves. I bet his grouchiness will go away in time as he receives love and affection. Our stray cat was like that, too, at first, but he's a big baby now.
