@@jalvorson Stream deck? More like POOP deck because it has NO EXCLUSIVES and is DOO-DOO and I am going to PIRATE all my games for it by HOLDING UP a ups truck
I, for one, am impressed with Dunkey’s fanbase here. He said “don’t make any funny comments”, and every single one of you abided by that. This is respect within the gaming community that mainstream media won’t tell you about.
This is simultaneously a funnee joke AND a sick burn on the other commenters. You managed to mix comedy and serious social commentary together in one easily digestible package. The sheer depth of your intertextual linguistics mixed with the brazen use of renaissance inspirations is enough to impress even Chateau Roman'Blanc himself. This VERY COMMENT WILL GO DOWN THROUGH THE AGES AND PANTHEONS OF FUTURE GODS WILL ALL BOW DOWN IN PRAISE OF THE WORK DONE HERE TODAY BY NAUGHT BUT A HUMBLE RU-vid MAN GOING ON HIS WAY. GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU HAVE BLESSED ALL OF US. MAY MANY BLESSINGS EASE YOUR JOURNEY, OH WISEST OF SAGES. ROUGHT FROM ANOTHER TIME TO DISPENSE WIDOM ON THE UNDESERVING MASSES. Congratulations Mr. Dingle.
Many of you might not know this, but the Nintendo GameCube featured an ergonomic handle so that it made it easier to carry when you had to go to your dad's house for the weekend.
I mean, Dunkey is the maker of the best dolphin documentary in the history of gaming and the best RU-vid video of all time. I expected nothing less than pure integrity and professionalism.
Even though Dunkey can makes us all laugh, he knows when to make serious videos that highlight important issues in the gaming community. It's so great of him to bring attention to the problems that the Game Cube is currently facing today. This is why he's one of the RU-vidrs.
@@Alienrun Get out of here dude, this isn't a laughing matter at all. Try to be serious for once in your life, if for nothing else than the security of the gaming industry!
Dunkey is getting bolder and taking a more mature, refined approach to his videos. No jokes and no dislikes. Could you have imagined this 24 years ago?
Woah-ho-ho-ho-ho, hold up folks! Mad props to the grand master of gaming critiques. He never falters in delivering bombs of killer insight before our very eyes. Who is this man you ask?? The one and only JonS, ladies and gentlemen. This man - the contemporary golden key of *true* gaming knowledge - delivered yet again a review so nuanced and intellectually tantalizing it was like a present being unwrapped for us: every layer revealing something completely incredible and unthinkable. This dude never fails to amaze us, and this latest review is no exception. Thanks for slaying once again, Jon! You really outdid yourself on this one, and we all thank you. p.s. Using a budding channel to give Jon a platform is a very commendable thing of Dunkey to do - he is a really great sport for that.
He dared say there was no M rated game on the gamecube and that Luigy's Mansion was the most scary game, do not give this man any credit, he doesn't even know Eternal Darkness exist.
@@radimk42 A slight exaggeration is no sarcasm, it is there to put emphasis on the statement. After all, a simple tweet asking the Gamecube best games would have made clear that "statement" of his is completely false, and he said everything to deserve to be corrected. Next time may I suggest saying "Maybe I missed some" or "This list is entirely subjective" or "This video is satirical in nature" somewhere in the video or description. It would work better than pretending I must be sarcastic in order to overlook such a mistake, as he double down on it multiple times in this video. So do you have anything real to say?
I will continue purchasing 5 gamecubes every year in my effort to halt the decline, thank you Dunkey for bringing much needed awareness to my struggle.
Little known fact about this episode: Dunkey voice acted every single video game character you see on the video, as well as the background music, as well as doing the voice acting for the narrator and then ALSO the news anchors. What an incredibly versatile voice actor.
Last night I was brought to tears while playing SSX Tricky asking myself this very question. Thank you for your truly groundbreaking research and reporting. I feel I may now sleep for the first time in years.
Dunkey bought like 5 GameCubes last year, he's single-handedly carrying the entire gaming industry from failing. What would us gamers do without you, you legend!
The game of basketball owes so much to the GameCube. LaBurn James absolutely transformed the game with his passing and physicality, not unlike the way Luigi's Mansion transformed horror gaming with its unfathomable levels of ghoul saturation. You did a great job of underscoring the ways the GameCube impacted our culture outside of gaming. So sad to see the end of an era, but the legend of the GameCube will live on!
I love how Dunky can make all these meme and comedic videos but he isn’t afraid to go out on a limb and give us a serious video with a serious topic and he still just knocks it outa the park every time.
I remember when the GameCube first came out in 1975 I was only -18 years old but man the memories of blowing into that little hole in the disk to make the game work will never leave me.
My uncle works at Nintendo and he says Reggie is currently inventing the GameCube Color, which will feature advanced polyglons and an innovative new controller called the GhoulSense
I’m really glad Dunkey is bringing attention to this issue. Us “cubers” as we like to call ourselves have been struggling for years. Hopefully a video like this will bring us hope for a bright future!
@@zanfear no but he say he was serious so its serious! This is why donkey cant be taken serious cuz the fanbase dont like change but change isnt always bad sometimes its good...ah this makes my heart hurt plz dont argue just listen to dunkey and everything will be ok i promise! :O
That picture of David Cross and Bob Odenkirk playing Super Smash Bros is something I didn't know I needed in my life. Thank you, VideoGameJonS, for bringing it to my attention.
I know it's easy to use humor as a mask for all the difficult feelings we might encounter when talking about such a serious topic. Thank you dunkey for showing us it's okay to face this head on.
Who can even afford to play games on it nowadays with so many shady resellers and hobby investors artificially inflating the prices of older used games
2:28 never in my life did I think zapper would get mentioned on this channel. god bless the mental rolodex of weird early 2000s games this guy has in his brain
Absolutely incredible writing, story and acting from the dunkey team, as usual. Really loved how the story wrapped up at the end and we finally got some well needed closure to the question brought up in the thumbnail.
the song in the first chunk of this video is called eternal oath from final fantasy crystal chronicles, if anyone was also looking for it after watching this
Ill never forget in like 2006 being 8 years old and opening up a gamecube on christmas from our mother with paper mario and the thousand year door, we went down to blockbuster to even get a memory card 😂 little did we know it would be some of the best times as kids playing it and that game will always hold a special place for me. Even our mom was interested in it and always watch us play it lol
I purchased a GameCube on a whim yesterday while I was buying carrots at my local staples because I saw them on clearance next to the snickers bars and I'm honestly pleasantly surprised. More people should know about them.
Yea I would've been unaware otherwise! *Proceeds to not buy a single gamecube, contributing to the future downfall of the entirely gaming industry as we know it*
This. This video right here. This has carried me through some awful times in my 44 years of life, the most recent one being the loss of my grandfather a year ago and greedy family members coming in and taking everything and throwing away everything of sentimental value and hurting all of us, including my own children who had a strong relationship with their great-grandfather. Everytime I hear this video I yell to it loudly with a river of tears out of my eyes. I hope and pray dunkey has a long, prosperous lives and if you're ever close to Blount County, Tennessee, it would be an honor to meet y'all and have a jam session and feed y'all, even if all I can afford is PB&J sandwiches.
i hope this situation can be sorted out soon... it's difficult for me to talk about without tearing up, but you navigated this with elegance, Dunk. Thank you for bringing this the attention it deserves. Godspeed
I cannot believe that a throwaway gag joke of a random game finally put to rest a childhood memory for me. I had scaler as a kid and remember playing it but could never remember the name or anything beyond its opening cutscene and the guy being blue. It has been YEARS I have tried to find info on this game and never could until now. Thank you dunkey for ending my quest to find this game.
I know the feeling, was watching a Scott the Woz video where he mentioned "Pajama Sam" and that put to rest the search for a game I played when I was 6!
Burnout 2 was an integral part of my childhood and hearing dunky talk about the BEWWW when the game starts up was so unexpected and amazing at the same time
Dunkey surely knows his content very well. Sure there's like two bits where I got stuck or kind of bored but the sheer wall of content that is enjoyable and intriguing to the very end is just exceptional, if I could 9.8
I remember when the GameCube was on it’s last legs and Miyamoto had to choose between Scaler and Zoo Cube to see which one will be their last game ever. While drunk in the afternoon, Miyamoto chose Zoo Cube because “the game is a fucking cube. The system is a fucking cube. It just makes sense. Publish it!” He told Reggie before throwing up and passing out. And so Zoo Cube was made, it was probably the worst Nintendo game ever made next to Skyward Sword. Nintendo went Bankrupt, all their employees were laid off, and Embracer Group bought the IP for Zoo Cube and nothing else because they said the rest of the Nintendo library was “a waste of time”. Years later in 2017 THQNordic published a remaster of Zoo Cube titled Zoo Cube: Cube-Mastered which went on to be a critical and financial failure, even worse than the original. To make things worse, the game was bundled with a GameCube peripheral which just didn’t sell at all. There are warehouses and landfills full of the damn things. As a result, THQNordic files for bankruptcy and sells off their IPs except for Zoo Cube which was encased in a concrete tomb and buried in the Mariana Trench where Godzilla guards it to this day. Should have just made Scaler. I hear that game is alright.
Thanks to you dunky I convinced my grandfather to buy a warehouse full of unused GameCubes that nobody wanted. The poor fellas were just sitting there collecting dust for years 😢
This is a genuine problem, and it's really inspiring to see this kind of bravery come from a big creator like you, most would just bite their tongue. We as gamers need to address this problem, and ensure that nothing like this happens again
I miss the simple days when I would just sit down and play GameCube games. Everything was so awesome to me back then. I hadn't even discovered online multiplayer was a thing in gaming yet. I just enjoyed many GameCube classics like Animal Crossing, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Party 4-7, Super Monkey Ball 2, Sonic Adventure Battle 2 (yes I know it's Adventure 2 Battle I just always called it this and I am sticking with it fight me), Medal of Honor games like Rising Sun, European Assault and Frontline, Super Smash Bros Melee, all this and more. I miss those days.
These are the issues that need to be talked about in the gaming community. We have so many articles, reviews, and videos that are just fluff pieces. It's so nice to see someone finally step forward to release a video against the flow and to finally address the real news and problems happening in modern gaming. Thank you Dunkey.
It’s pretty amazing Dunkey can get in the weeds and deliver this level of investigative journalism while also running BigMode and making his other content. Thank you for bringing Gamecubegate to my attention
These videos are great, because you know that, one day, the one real human being who played Scaler on the Nintendo GameCube will EVENTUALLY come across this video.
A very heavy topic, but it was masterfully adressed. Thank you for your measured and layered take, it's so easy to dismiss these kinds of issues or laugh them off.
