Hey, just a fun fact with cougars. They also lure with sound mimicry. Where I grew up, there was a cougar that learned how to sound like a crying baby. Thankfully, it didn't attack anyone. the lion stuff is actually a bit more complex than that. while all the things you described are true most of the time, a lion's social life is actually quite a bit more complex. prides often interact with each other, and it isn't always hostile. there are even prides that are subserviently to other prides. at one point, there were two lion brothers who not only had their own pride, but had lions from other prides all over the country giving them food. speaking of lions making alliances, they are also known to leave primates alone in certain areas, so long as the monkeys hand other animals to the lions. because like you said, baboons and lions are blood enemies, many other animals will just use baboons as a free lion detection system. this works great until the monkeys purposefully don't scream at lions they know are only after the antelope. while most lions are pretty predictable, you do get lion mafia bosses that do crazy shit every once in a while.

Yeah people tend to think in black and white terms regarding animals and bugs. "People=Evil, superior, and smart" while "Animals=Innocent, inferior, and stupid". People need to wake up by actually interacting with animals and/or actually learn about them instead of being ignorant. I was talking with someone recently who couldn't process that even animals typically deemed "cute" have the ability and enough intelligence to kill animals of their same species, if they have the proper motivation to do so (ex. mating, territorial disputes, etc).

I am just a naturally cautious person, and am, if I say so myself, fairly intelligent in the sense that I extrapolate and reason things out often, like, I think _more_ than a couple steps ahead on something. With all of that in mind, I did not know some of this stuff, and some of it I did, and just taking the very concept of "Eat or be eaten, nature is not all sunshine" that I learned _very_ young from how much I love nature, I understood automatically to _not_ mess with other animals unless I had a seriously good reason. I won't even pick up a domestic dog or cat without an invitation or permission from the animal or its owner, since I know _some_ of them might like it...and some won't. I do NOT romanticize wildlife, even though I love it, because I know it isn't a joke or that I would last ten seconds in the absolute wild areas of the world. I can definitely imagine people who do, and have seen some (one being the example of a guy with an otter that this channel showed), and can imagine the kind of suffering and death underestimating or presuming the best rather than the worst can get adults and children. Stupid and very sad to think about...

A little more hopeful Lion King fact...with a lot of types lions, instead of males doing it alone, they'll form coalitions of 2-6 males often consisting of brothers/cousins that come from the same natal pride. So Mufasa and Scar wouldn't be enemies in the first place, would share the females between the two of them, and would treat each other's cubs somewhat as their own.

As terrifying as that mountain lion scream is, there is nothing more terrifying than hearing a turkey scream at night. Because you wouldn't think so, but they scream. Loudly. Frantically. With a very, very human-sounding voice. First time my fam and I heard one, we all just looked at each other and my parents we literally reaching for the phone to call the cops before I looked out into the street and saw a turkey trotting across the road. Screaming like a woman becoming an awful episode of Dateline that will haunt viewers for a long time. And doing so for *no damn reason at all.*

Those pelicans reminded me of a memory of my childhood i remember a lot from time to time, My family frequently visited Peru for either summer or winter and one summer I was like 7 and at the beach we visited at had this attraction where we could throw fish at pelicans from a beach balcony, I was casually throwing fish from a basket down to pelicans, and when I grabbed a piece of fish and looked away at the pelicans I felt something around my arm, looked back to see my arm fully engulfed by a pelican, i for some reason was unfazed until my uncle grabbed my arm and pulled it from the pelican. A story I've never really shared but here it is

Pebbles and pinguins reminded me the story from "Egyptian Sinuhe". In ancient Egypt, princess Baketamon gave heir to her husband the king , but warned him that if he touched her again she will shame him in worst possible way. He raped her, she gave birth to another child, but after all she just said "Remember that you have been warned." The husband went on the war which lasted for 3 years. In the meantime the princess was fornicating with every male in the city who was able to perform. And she did not do that in secret. No. She stood up in the city center and said who she was, how lousy her husband was, that she will lay down with anyone, who will give her a pebble. Basically pebble for pleasure. She collected so much of pebbles, rocks, and stones that she was able to build a HOUSE out of those. Then when her husband returned she INVITED him to the rolling stone house of pleasure, and told him the origin of the little "casita" As Cersei Lanister said to Sansa "The tears are not the only weapon the woman has, the real weapon is between her legs" And princess Baketamon knew how to use it.

Since there were only two male adult lions, that we know of, that would mean Simba and Nala are either half-siblings or cousins.
