Yes that’s huge. There’s only a handful of heroes that can get aerial easily (Spectrum, Nova, Thor, Ironheart, and Rogue) so it’s nice to not have to worry about tracking down one card in your whole deck. I’m super excited to finally get the most out of these events!

Thanks buddy! Power creep is always such an interesting discussion in this game, since they’ve said from the beginning that some heroes would be more powerful than others just because they should be. That being said there’s no denying that the math seems to have shifted a little bit and cards are more efficient than they used to be. Angel looks like he falls into a nice place as far as power level goes. Other than the ridiculousness of Dive Bomb I don’t think he’s doing anything too crazy. It’s more about his versatility and being able to address what’s presented to him consistently. Cable on the other hand for sure seems a lot stronger than you’re average hero, and Psylocke’s access and ability to recur some very powerful Psionic effects also looks to be on the upper end. My take on power creep is always that I think the designers are just always getting better at making a hero kit more synergistic with itself, or with the card pool, or both. There’s less clunkiness (Valkyrie excluded though I think we can blame Covid for that) than there was in early heroes like She Hulk, Hulk, and Thor. They’re really good at smoothing out the rough edges. My thinking is the early stuff was a little underpowered and now we’re seeing things as it should be. And I totally agree! The freedom we have to play whoever we want, however we want, against whatever we want means power creep is far less of an issue in this game than pretty much any other out there!

@GetUpandGame that's an excellent point about the designers! The Imperial Assault community long discussed that everything Jabbas Realm and after felt consistently stronger than before. In an interview, the designers said they finally got the right feel for designing the power levels about then, and they carried that forward. It makes sense the same could happen with MC! Happy to see another new video from you so soon after the last Chaps episode. I hope things are going well!

It makes sense that a game in its early life won’t be balanced perfectly right out of the gate 👍 Ha yeah, I wouldn’t normally have been able to get a video like this out so quickly, but even though I worked all weekend, I had so much downtime on my machine that I was able to make all the slides at work while I was waiting around for maintenance 😆

Hey now that’s a really good point! Daredevil will only be better for the developers honing their craft this whole time. Suddenly the wait doesn’t seem so bad 😆 The bar really has been set pretty high. The last couple waves have been absolutely stellar

A Response has to be played immediately after it’s triggering condition occurs, so there’s no opportunity to use Team Building Exercise. If it were a Resource Action it would work, but since it’s simply an Action it needs to be played separately as it’s own thing.

Haha! Well good! I really liked the video. If I had to be reeeeeaaaaally picky, it has a little solo bias - but that means it's especially great if you want that solo play perspective. In particular, I really liked your example turns. I think little things like that can really highlight how good heroes can potentially be when it's not obvious - that they are greater than the sum of their parts. I can't decide what aspect to play him in first. Aggression is the obvious one, but they all have slick combos and mad potential.

Nice! I'm hoping for even more aerial cards at the back of his pack. I want something really funky that will play into or even create a distinct archetype. ...But I have no idea what that will look like.

@@VillainTheory agreed! He has that new protection card so I’m thinking we will likely see another round of them. And that’s what’s so cool, everything I thought of here was just based on what we know, but who knows how much more cool stuff he could do with his cards we haven’t seen and new aerial support

@Get Up and Game! I was so excited about this hero for many of the reasons you stated in this video. It really threw me that you wouldn't be pumped. It's not necessarily super flashy(even though it can be), but you get to make tons of decisions and make a bunch of small, impactful progress. Very dynamic and playable in all aspects. I can't wait for this guy to come out.

@@MAXFightMan yep I get it now! I think when I first saw him I really got Gamora vibes from him. Just very straightforwardly removing threat and dealing damage. I really needed to work out in my head the things I showed here before I saw the cool decisions and fun timing situations you might find yourself in. I was a little slow on the uptake this time but I got there in the end lol

You can absolutely use the Power Of cards to pay for Wasp and Ant-man, but they won’t double their resources because they have made a distinction between “paying” for a card and “overpaying” for a card. The resources spent to overpay for a card are not considered to have been used to pay the cost for that card. There was a ruling a little while back on the Power of Leadership and ally Ant-man, and they’ve made it more clear in the new rules reference on page 12 under the Cost heading. Since the text on Wasp ally says you get 1 PYM Counter for each resource used to overpay for her, the text on Power of Aggression or Power of Flight doesn’t trigger because it wasn’t used to pay her cost ☹️

@@mattr.9825 no problem! Yeah it’s relatively recent, and caused quite a stir lol. It’s unfortunate that they’ve ruled in that way, but I think it’s so they can have more effects like Moon Girl where there can be a limit to how much you can get out of the card without having to actually print limits on the cards themselves

@@GetUpandGame Man, FFG makes some weird decisions. But what else is new, I mean they didn't make Wolverine's Claws stay out of his deck until the recent errata either when it feels like these kind of things should be aligned in design by now

@@GetUpandGame Looking at page 12, I'm assuming this refers to "» Resources generated beyond the specified cost are considered to have been overpaid for that cost and were not paid for that cost" ? Nothing under Cost in the RRG 1.5 reads to me as you can no longer generate double resources with Power of cards for Antman or Wasp
