A lot of people assume that training with a belt will make your core weaker but does the research out there actually support this claim? In this video, I go over the pros and cons of training without a lifting belt. I also provide various options of how you can use both belted and beltless training to get the best of both worlds.

Coach, for lifters who no longer want to compete in PL, do you think it’s still necessary to wear competition standard equipments?

I’d say wrist wraps probably aren’t necessary. If they have no knee pain, then knee sleeves probably aren’t necessary. But I’d say wearing a belt regularly would still be beneficial as it lets you lift more weight which means more strength and hypertrophy.
