With the third brake light on the bottom, I roll both sides of the tint toward each other (like a scroll) leaving just enough room for the size of the break light. I slit the liner in the middle so it is in two halves. On Install I then slide the film over the break light and down to the bottom of the glass. I then unroll each side of the tint. Make some side to side adjustments. Squeegee and done. This method really helps from having the top half of the tint flop around and pick up contamination. for me it's a faster and cleaner install. I love your videos by the way!

I don't understand how the protective film was rolled up on the inside of the Roll on the outside of the window. Then when it's unrolled on the inside of the window the Protective film is now on the outside of the roll, what the hell is that supposed to mean? and the glued side is still facing the wrong way, not buying it.
@lohengrinknight
@lohengrinknight 3 года назад
Hi. When you actually install the tint on the inside, why is the liner facing you and not the glass as it happens when you do the door windows? If the adhesive is supposed to be between the liner and the tint, then for what I see in the video, you squeegee the glue away. I'm so confused now.

The fusion squeegee handle is the best out there in my opinion. other handles either don't hold the squeegee well enough or hurt my hand near the handle almost to the point of cutting my hand. The fusion handle holds great and has a comfortable grip. Very good choice.

the liner is on the outside when I'm rolling it and at the end when finished there will be the film and the liner so all you have to do is keep the liner on the roll and just grab the film when unrolling so the film is on the glass and the liner is behind.

That genius trick solves many issues I have fought with for years. Never stop seeking knowledge. There is so much out there. Thank you for sharing this stuff. I had a shop in Northern Virginia during the Early 90's, and have done it infrequently, as a side thing ever since. It's a perishable skill. I feel like i'm re-learning every time I tint. I'm slow, and make mistakes often. But, in the end, I do a pretty decent job, and that is rewarding. this makes me want to practice on something.....Carry on! New sub.

I like your very informative videos. I consider you a fellow Master Tinter. If I may a little critique. On your reverse roll all is good but maybe a little disadvantage is your film kept coming down from the top. Also the lower righ side rolled inward. This increases the probability of contamination. We all have different techniques. I suggest on a glass wet outer liner, remove half of liner wetting it, repeat opposite side. Peel back bottom end about 8 inches grab film walk into vehicle. Slide bottom end to bottom of rear window. Remove remaining liner. Leaving most of liner decreases contamination. Finish crafting film onto glass, wallah . 👍😊
@WindowTintingBusiness
@WindowTintingBusiness 7 лет назад
thanks you for the constructive criticism! typically I have a better time installing but this vehicle had a 3rd break light at the bottom of the glass so I had to bring the film up just a bit to avoid creasing it when unrolling but you are absolutely right on the button. thanks again for watching

Window Tinting Business is there a rule of thumb to follow while shrinking out the fingers ? I know divide it into quadrants. But Like work center out, only squeegee downwards or something. Oh I just got those cloth gloves. Imma use it on the dry shrink and see if it helps.

@808kea808 6 лет назад
Window Tinting Business I like that , if it ain't glass it's ass. I'll remember it. Just sucks when so much time spent on it and it doesn't come out right lol
@WindowTintingBusiness
@WindowTintingBusiness 6 лет назад
when shrinking I like working from the center out because there is so much real estate to work with plus it will pull the film inwards and it will result in less shrinking when you get to the outside and minimizing the risk for creases. Always shrink with the grain of course only up and down, one thing to keep in mind is where the grain is when you're working on curvy back windows because you want to go straight up and down but due to the curve and when you look at it it'll actually go down and inwards on the bottom half and up and outwards on the top. I love the glove because most heat guns are at 1200 degrees and the film gets very hot. Good luck my friend!

@WindowTintingBusiness
@WindowTintingBusiness 6 лет назад
when you are rolling the film (either on a car or on a glass board) the liner at the time is facing out and the film is on the other side of that. By the end of the roll you will have the liner and the film together and the film will be on the outside of the roll and the liner will be on the inside. when its time to start unrolling the liner side will want to stay with the roll and just let the film unroll.
@Messorem6
@Messorem6 5 лет назад
So when he rolls up the film off the back glass the liner is on the inside. When he installs the film, he rolls the clear liner over the film again exposing the tint adhesive and this transfers the clear line to the inside of the roll.

Take your time, lay a good “H” pattern down, learn where the sweet spot distance is for your heat gun, start using something soft like a mactac or a folded microfiber towel instead of a hard card at first the slowly move to harder cards, dry shrinking is easier than wet shrinking, shrink evenly across the glass. It’s hard at first but slowly you’ll get better. Before you know it you’ll be shrinking like a pro and it’s a very soothing process.

Hey Patrick!! Just wanted to say you do great work and have really great tips! One thing, when you are peeling the liner to wet it before rolling it I see that as soon as you started you let your hands touch the part that is going to lay right back on the film. Which causes contamination. That's just like putting your hands directly on the glue side of the film. I see a lot of videos where some tinters do that, Maybe it's me? But I always try to avoid any contamination at any cost. Keep up the great work!! My instagram is.....tintcrazy ,if you wanted to check it out.
