-The main idea that Emin talks about in this seminar comes across as "don't worry about techniques, just move". You can only do this once you have learned, practiced, and experimented with those techniques, movements, and strategies to a point where you are able to bet your life on them before you can "just move". -Someone actually attempting to throw you will put your hips back and make you lean forward before trying to throw you.
Standing in the preparatory neutral YGKYM stance waiting for the attacker to enter the "magnetic zone" is one reason why WC would be disadvantaged in the ring/cage. You'd just be disqualified for inactivity. MMA fighters also know the value of counter-fighting, that's why a long time is usually spent squaring off waiting for an opening, and openings usually happens when someone initiates the attack. That's why draws and feints exist, to get the other guy to commit to an attack.
A guy like bus rutten kicks so hard that even a professional trained fighter gets a broken liver. So imagine boztepe just walking forward with no need to defend nothing just his famous forward punch. He may hit him in the face before emin cringes on the ground.
O and the block turns into a grab which then puls the opponent down and around (and thus off balence/centre) with the downward spiral that leads to the squat. Wow I actually forgot how a seemingly simple hip throw is actually pretty complex.
@Rmaul21 No system of fighting is illegitimate or fake, but wing chun is a much more efficient way of fighting than mma. One only has to compare basic techniques to verify that WC/WT is a much more direct style. Fact is, in many lower level cage fights/mma matches, wing chun is starting to appear more and more as people learn to use it more effectively in this setting. No professional wc fighter has come along yet, but that doesn't mean the system isn't a force to be reckoned with.

My name is emin boztope. I have had 300 bare knuckle brawls and won all of them. I dont have a single one on camera but i expect u to believe i am an elite fighting machine. The only one i do have on camera is a blurry one where im on the ground already and bashing williams head jujitsu style. I think mma is barbaric but i love bare knuckle brawls cos somehow i think thats more civillised. I dont have the guts to challenge mma guys so i challenge unproven guys.
I agree that one (esp a well known fig like Emin who is viewed as synonymous with WC) shouldnt even mention the name of any other styles in his own demo/training video. It always produce negative political interpretation when viewed by ppl of other styles. Back to your comment, where did he say "its easy to beat a muay thai guy by catching his leg"? AFAIK, WC dont try to handle a kick by catching it. Sanshou guys do catch legs but that is another styles.

A lot of fair points, he's obv good but the guy who he's demonstrating on doesn't know how to throw (dont care that he says hes done judo or Jitsu) if he wanted to throw him and knew how, no amount of weight distribution or foot position would stop him
@makkho You might be missunderstanding what they mean by simple. The logic behind WT is simple, you HAVE to train to make it work. What? people expect to be masters by barely training? Wt is insane if you train it and you don't just pile the theory but put it in practice over, over and over, and over and over again. If you try to apply it without having the feeling then it's useless.
I disagree, its all about the thrower, u can avoid a throw but u can obviously avoid any other move too. The guy wouldn't have to change Emin's body position but his style of throwing. His problem is that he bends from the waist first. He needs to bend with his knees (as you would lifting any heavy object) & once close in just rise like rising from a squat, THEN bend and throw once he has no strong footing don't try and pull him if he's sunk back that's the problem with demos, misrepresentation

He is good but I didn't like the way he humeleate other stiles like that karate demonstration. On higher level karate became very flesible and with minimal blocks.
All myths about "i saw emin do this...do that...." is useless. Please show me proof. Otherwise I myself will claim to have had 100 brawls and won them. But without providing you any proof, i expect you to believe me. Does that sound fair enough?
He can make fun of other styles as much as he wants but until he proves himself on camera with other decent mma fighters, we all know he is all talk. He says its easy to beat a muay thai guy by catching his leg? Hah, prove it. Fight one. Wc guys here will believe emin cos they will never fight a mauy thai guy for real. And when they do, they will taste the reality. trust me, they are in for a shock when it comes to mauy thai power.
