This is us winning the Schneider Trophy 2024 in the Van's RV-7 I built myself in my garage. This year the event was hosted at Goodwood Aerodrome. We started air racing this year and this is the first time we have competed in the Schneider Trophy. In order to compete, you have to get through the Merlin Trophy without disqualification. We managed 3rd on the Merlin Trophy and unbelievably won the Schneider Trophy. The first RAF pilot to do so since 1993. The 2024 Schneider Trophy winner is officially listed as Sqn Ldr Ben Polwin.
This is the Van's RV-7 tailwheel aircraft that I built in my garage over 5 years. Its first flight was in July 2023 and we now fly it everywhere we can visiting people and places and documenting our epic flight adventures and aviation highlights along the way for friends and family. I flew fighter jets for 20 years and now just enjoy flying around the country with my wife who is also a professional pilot although she lets me do most of the flying!
