I don't know how the b0xx nerfs will affect high level gameplay, but as much as accessibility is important, do we really need the b0xx to be allowed off of that pretense? I feel like that shifts the burden onto alt. controller users to justify their existence. Are we suggesting that the way Melee comes out of the box is the way to play? Because we very much have tailored and customized the game outside of "Vanilla Melee", I don't think i've touched vanilla melee since 2016. Is there some kind of "Nintendo branded essentialism" at play? I mean it's ironic when we're seeing exactly what Nintendo wants, but is there a controller that is winning tournaments by itself? Not that we've seen, so why is GCC (esp. plus a plethora of mods) a standard to be adhered to? Who is the proverbial boogy-man when the rectangle controllers are getting nerfs? Reliable dash-dancing? Should we implement tripping and Sakurai had it right all along? haha (mandatory OEM snapback? lul) I'm all for boxx nerfs but we have to have consistent values. I don't think adhering to daddy Nintendo is a good one and we should be more open minded, as we have been with rectangles, and if problems arise then they can be addressed. We know pivot uptilt is fked, but as an extreme example, for instance, no one is mandating for "degating" a GCC to make reliable cardinal & 45 degree angles harder.
