This invigorates me to include cruise periods. There’s something magical about 3-4 days per week training. I remember reading an article Dave Goodin wrote about switching from 5-6 days a week to 3 days per week training, and he said he made more progress that year (9 lbs of state weight) than the previous 9 combined lol.

Yeah it seems like most lifters either fall into that 3-4 days a week or 5-6 days a week camp. I’ve always needed the extra recovery and just have better workouts and progress with 3-4 days a week.

Alberto, in reference to partials and people not doing them, I’ve heard Layne Norton mention how this could effect your total volume because you do less reps. Response?

How do you track progress with this approach of reps decreasing in ROM through the set? Just sort of intuitive?

I do something similar. I usually just take note how many I did at partials or how many reps I did with assistance… like 6+4P .. p for partial. a bit wordy but gets the message across

@@jerkbeans right but even then you need a min ROM req for what a partial is? Perhaps not if your partials usually end up being the same ROM reduction per rep. (ie. First partial is 3/4 ROM, second is 2/3 ROM, 3rd is 1/2 ROM, 4th is 1/4 ROM) on AVG. Not saying to actually think about that mid set lol

All serious bodybuilders are a little delusional with their progress, if they weren’t then they wouldn’t have a reason to keep training. I’m not hating I’m in that camp too lol
