Finally you watching them :D... been asking for it every week :) You got to watch the Sylvanas and old soldiers and also the latest "The Siege of Lorderon" too it will make it a full circle and you will get why the scens from BfA happens.

I know everyone's riding the hype of the Old Soldier cinematic at the moment (which is admittedly, fantastic), but this is still the video that's affected me the most emotionally of everything Blizzard's released so far for Battle for Azeroth. I get goosebumps every time. The music and the vocals are superb, and I can legitimately imagine Kul Tiran (Kul Tirassian?) sailors singing a shanty like this.

Jaina allowed her father to be killed, hence why the song mentions him being betrayed, believing it was the only way to peace between Theramore (Jaina's Keep) and the Horde. But after getting burned several times by the Horde, she's come to realize peace isn't possible and that her father was right, hence "I'm listening now".

YES! I've been waiting for you to react to the Jaina video! You should also watch the Harbingers videos with Khadgar, Gul'dan, and Illidan, but you should probably look them up first so you can fully appreciate the characterizations.

There needs to be a warcraft museum where you can walk through the entire timeline, go into observatories and watch movies like this as part of the tour, they could do so much.

I'm convinced they modeled Anduin after Heath Ledger when he was young. It's especially noticeable when he has his face lifted up during his spell.

The song playing in the Jaina Warbringers is a shanty that they sing in Kul Tiras, so the song and story is from their perspective, basically making her Father into some hero who fought savage and evil orcs and was betrayed by his daughter and died. But the truth is that that conflict happened after the war against the legion back in Warcraft 3, after the Horde had changed its ways and the orcs had been freed from the curse of the demon blood who made them more savage and bloodthirsty. But Jaina's father was fuled by hatred and would not see reason. The Horde actually tried to make peace with Jaina's father and his people, but his hatred for Orcs was too much and he wanted to kill them all. So basically the Horde had no choice but to take him out. Jaina stood aside as she could not follow her Fathers hatred, but now after a lot of unfortunate events, Jaina is also fuled by the same kind of hatred as her father was. I am very interested in her story arc in this expansion, and I wonder how they will develop her character. If she will continue down a dark path of vengeance and hatred or if she will find a new path.

Thank you very much for reacting to this. I think you will love the Sylvanas trailer then. It's the same visual style. As you have watched the Battle for Azeroth and the Jaina trailer in a row, I would recommend doing the same for the Sylvanas and the Old Soldier trailer.

Man I remember playing the campaign in Warcrfat 3 where Jaina "betrays" her father. So that Warbgringer: Jaina trailer hits me right in the feels.

Jaina is done trying to make peace...... bout damn time! Man the ships lads it's time to kick the horde where it hurts!

I play both factions and thus reaped the benefits of experiencing the actual event from both sides, and totally enjoyed it.

I noticed the emotion you were feeling near the end of Jaina's cinematic, her story is as tragic as that song sounds. Her people sing it, and despise her for the situation behind her father's death. She tried so hard for peace that when her father did make war with the Horde she did allow them to kill him. But now....now things have changed.

The Warbringer dedicated to Sylvanas and after it Old soldier are important to understand well what happen in the BFA cinematic you just see. Old soldier takes place few hours before the battle you see in the cinematic starts. Then after you have all the ingame cinematics that go with the battle for Lordaeron.

This is the story behind that cinematic: During Warcraft 3 she traveled to Kalimdor (another continent) to fight the Burning Legion, after that she stablished a city called Theramore, her Father arrives time after and when he see that there are orcs roaming freely he decided to stop them. By that time Jaina made a treatise of peace between the new found Horde and the humans of Theramore, but his father was stubborn and go to war with Thrall and his buddies, after the battle captain Daelin (Jaina's father) dies, and she did nothing to stop it since she believed peace was the most important thing. Obviously the people of Kul Tiras (his homeland) saw that as a betrayal. Ever since Jaina's character has changed a lot specially since the destruction of Theramore during the events post Cataclysm. Now she regrets that foolish ideals and seeks redeption, you can see her return in the Battle for Lordaeron alliance cinematic.

I remember Jaina from Warcraft 3 that was released before some of you were even born. In it she become leader of Alliance after Arthas' fell to Frostmourn's influence and killed his father before becoming Death Knight.

I have participated in this scenario on both sides, and totally enjoyed the experience both times, Anduin is boss, great to see him come into his own and out of his fathers shadow, and Sylvanas, that banshee scream and horde rally cry is bone chilling, blizzard has exceeded my expectations again!

Hey Jen, great reactions. I thought you might like to know a little more about Anduin's story and why this cinematic is so important for him. Anduin's father, the Warrior King Varian, has died recently. Anduin has always wanted to be a worthy heir to the throne. But, he has never been the Warrior that his father was. Despite Anduin's training in Warrior melee combat, Anduin's talents had always been toward the spiritual side of life. This affinity drew him to becoming a Priest of the Light. Anduin also continued to use his Warrior training, becoming the only Priest to use heavy armor and a sword in battle. He did this as the new, untimely King, because Anduin believed it was very important to emulate his father in order to be a successful King. Which ended up limiting his power in the Light, because he was torn between his own talents as a Priest and trying to be his father, a Warrior. This cinematic shows first, Anduin fighting the troll Warrior with his sword. Anduin shows he has become a strong melee combatant indeed by defeating the troll. However, in looking around, his men are all dying. As much as Anduin has tried to be a strong warrior like his father he cannot save his men's lives by doing so. That's what Anduin realises as he looks down at his sword in his hands. To win this battle, to be a worthy King, Anduin needs to stop emulating his father and *be himself.* Anduin would find more success ruling his way, trusting himself, rather than trying to be somebody else. His father would rush the enemy, sword drawn. Anduin instead drops his sword. He beseeches the Light, reaching into the sky. And with more intensity than ever before the Light blesses Anduin with the power to save his men. Anduin entered that battle as a frightened boy, trying desperately to be something he wasn't. He left that battle a King. Worthy and righteous.

First Warbringer sylvanas to understand Old Soldier!!

You really need more of the background to understand the Jaina cinematic. Jaina fought to have peace with the horde... even against her fathers advice and will.. When the horde attacked Thermore, Jaina's home, out of pure paranoia her father took the fleet to save her... but instead found only the horde. Jaina could have destroyed the horde.. and Orgrimmar for that matter to save her father but she had fought for peace with the the horde for so long she couldn't bring herself to do it. The horde have only themselves to blame for calcifying Jaina's heart against them.

Have you considered full-screening the video you're watching and putting yourself in the corner? EDIT: Daughter of the Sea is sung by the people of Kul-Tiras about Jaina and the death of her father, most people just see her as a traitor and don't know the full story.
