Jaina and Azshara are the most powerful female mage characters in this world. It wasn't Jaina that caused that giant tsunami tough, that happened around 10,000 years ago, in a event called The Great Sundering. The deal that Azshara mentioned was a deal she had made with demons in return for more power, wich in the end ultimately ended almost literally breaking the world apart, it caused a BIG catastrophe that swallowed lands whole and destroyed many others, that's what caused that tsunami we see at the begining. Her greed was partially the cause of that, but then she meets that being (it's called a Old God, they're based on the Lovecraft mythos of Cthulhu) wich was imprisioned under the sea and he offered her that deal, wich allowed her and her people to live, but it turned them into horrific monstrosities called the Naga. Regarding Jaina, her movie and song basically tells about how she betrayed her father and abandoned him in a battle, wich caused him to die. He was a warmonger that only tought of war with The Horde and Jaina had made friends on the Horde and they were trying to reach peace, so she decided to stop fighting. This is her coming to terms with her past decisions and asking her father for forgiveness, that was his boat that she raised form the bottom of the sea and all those ghosts and spirits were sailors lost in those fights.

Jaina was the original "Be friends Instead". She as an alliance member worked/defended the horde, helped free them from interment camps and help them sail across the ocean to a new land for them to call home, this song pretty much goes over how despite her father telling her that the horde were monsters she turned her back on her kingdom, and the horde defended themselves/killed her father. Throughout WoW, Jaina was very much the horde and alliance need to work together to fight off the bigger evils and create peace, right up until the new horde warchief, Garrosh (You might get to him eventually, he's also one of the orcs in the Warlords of Draenor cinematic), magic-nuked her city Theramore. This kind of caused her to go crazy, turned her back on the horde and the alliance because they didn't want to just start nuking things too. She now realizes that her father may have been right all along, hence the line "I'm listening now father", and raised the flagship of her old kingdom and going to get her old kingdom in on the war, ready to fight. There's of course a little more to it than that, but Jaina's arc is one of the longest in the series, and possibly one of the most important ones as she is tied to the Lich King as well, and Arthas' fall into evil.

4:55 Jaina Proudmoor is Warcraft's most powerful human mage. She used to be Arthas's girlfriend before he became the undead guy with the blue glowing sword. After that, she traveled to the Western Continent of Kalimdor to eventually strike an alliance with the orcish leader Thrall. They had a common enemy: demons were trying to burn down the world tree. So while Thrall and Jaina were good people, Jaina's father Admiral Proudmoor hated orcs and another orc leader called Hellscream hated humans because of an earlier war and internment camps. They attacked each other, and for the sake of their alliance, Jaina would not intervene to save her father. Because she wanted to be friends instead! This guilt haunted her, even though they did save the world from demons. Evidently her father's sailors wrote a sea shanty about these events and she is not well liked by her own people. This makes the inciting incident of this trailer all the more tragic. Thrall is no longer leading his nation, and his replacement at the time of this trailer is Sylvanas/Eyebrows. And she burned the world tree that Jaina sacrificed her father to protect. So now it seems like all she did is in vain. This is why the faces of her ancestors were judging her in the clouds, why the ghost of her father was bringing her to dredge up his old warship to wage war on Sylvanas' horde. It's like he's saying 'I told you not to trust the Horde'. And in the trailer, that's all driving her to vengeance. Edit: turns out I was wrong about a lot details. Check the comments below.

For the first cinematic: Jaina is the princess of an island kingdom called Kul'tiras. Her father fought the Orcs when they first appeared in Azeroth back when they were corrupted by the Demons and lost one of Jaina's two brothers at their hands. Two wars go by, the Orcs lose the Second war and are put in "Internment camps" where they start regaining conciousness, and Thrall (the other orc guy that is with Saurfang) liberates them, during this, Jaina and Arthas (the guy who will become the Lich King, they were lovers) investigate the plague of undeath that will culminate with Arthas falling to the dark side, Arthas' kingdom destroyed by his own hands and Jaina and Thrall being led by Medivh (the guy responsible for bringing the Orcs in the first place, was also possessed by Demons) west, to Kalimdor, there Thrall and Jaina become friends basically agree to not attack each other while they settle these new lands. But Jaina's father followed her west out of worry since you know as far as he knew Jaina could be dead or worse, and when he reaches Kalimdor he sees all these Orcs settled and thriving in this new land and he goes into a panic, since all he ever knew of the Orcs was the bloodthirsty demon corrupted ones. So he starts attacking them, ignoring Jaina's pleads and it ends with Thrall's hands being forced and his champion Rexxar killing Jaina's father, the big deal here is that Jaina "stood aside" and let her father be murdered. There's a lot of more stuff that happens later which brought a lot of people to justify what Jaina's father did, but that's not too important in the context of this cinematic.
@raziel6304
@raziel6304 3 года назад
For the second cinematic: This happens 10000 years back in the past when Azshara, queen of the Night elves, and absolute ruler of most of the world during the time, struck a deal with the same Demons that would later corrupt the Orcs, basically she was willing to sacrifice the world in exchange for power, but Tyrande and Malfurion (current leader of the Night Elves) cause a rebellion and manage to stop the demons complete arrival to the world, this however, ends up causing an explosion in the Well of Eternity (A magical lake in the center of the world, and main source of power for all Night Elves) and tearing apart the world, the giant tsunami swallowing the city is one of many results of this explosion. The god which saves her is called an Old God, think something like Cthulhu. Basically she struck deals with two different kinds of devils, failed the first time, succeeded in the second.

I think for the first one you have to add that Jaina ordered her man to stand down and gave the orcs information over her citys defenses, in exchage the civilians and Jainas man were unharmed and the city stayed mostly intact. Jaina safed a lot of lifes on both sides that day. Especially since the horde probably would've won even if she stood with her dad, but with far more dead on both sides. But of course her family and her old kingdom didn't see it that way, they only saw her betrail.
@Dilholio
@Dilholio 3 года назад
Also if Jaina had aided her father it would have dragged the Alliance into another full scale war with the Horde. And as she knew Thrall wanted peace she so saw it as an unjustifiable and unprovoked attack.

Jaina is my favorite character in Warcraft. Some would label her as crazy, but the things she's been through, the tragedy, the constant betrayal, would make anyone a little nuts. But she's a well written, well rounded character. A bit of info about the song. 'Daughter of the sea' was the nickname her father gave her as a child. The tune to the song is the same tune of a song he used to sing to her: "Ahoy, ahoy, sweet daughter of the sea Ahoy, this child be mine. The admiral's girl his whole entire world for as long, as stars do shine"

Jaina was actually one of the first real, playable female characters of the Warcraft games - I can't remember if Garona or Alleria Windrunner were ever playable in the first or second game, and if they were, it was only for 1 single mission - Jaina was the first, in Warcraft 3, with a proper storyline, character development, and impactful role in the overall narrative, and of course voice acted dialogue. She also happened to hate violence, and prefer pacifism and diplomacy whenever possible.

First as many have said both Jaina and Azshara are mayor female characters and powerful mages in Warcraft lore since Warcraft 3, Sylvanas too, the sea shanty of the first short is how her people already see Jaina, as a traitor since shes not a princess but the daughter of the house that govern her nation, and you can see her own remorse of her past actions too, cause she really wanted peace between the Horde and the Alliance long ago, thats why she funded the city of Theramore the ruins where the short start and didnt help her father against the Horde of Thrall (the orc Saurfang went to look for in the Safe Haven cinematic), event that end with her father and many sailors of her nation dead, but even after that peace were never achieved between the 2 factions and to make things worse Theramore was destroyed and all its citizens killed by the same Warchief Thrall named after him, all these feelings are mixed in her short, plus she has a little parethesis in Arthas (Lich King) history. Queen Azshara was always an antagonist in Warcraft story, she was the queen of one of the greatest empires of Azeroth but wasnt enough for her, the tsunami that destroyed the city was caused by The Sundering an event caused by her deal with the Burning Legion that separate the only continent of Azeroth in the 4 we have now, after that we saw on the short the new deal she made with the Old God N'zoth (the Olds Gods are Lovecraft based creatures) being these deal the Naga (serpent-merfolk people) creation. Hope this help you a little to understand those shorts cause Warcraft lore is so extent and this 2 shorts rememorate 2 very specific moments of lore

I am one of many people that are gonna provide character TL;DR s Jaina (correctly pronounced in your second try): Jaina is involved in many important events of Warcraft's recent history, but what you need to know is that she is a super-powerful mage who wanted a peaceful co-existence between Alliance and Horde since she had fought with the Horde in the past and their, then, leader Thrall (who also wanted peace). She served as an ambassador between factions for years setting up her own settlement near Horde lands. When Jaina's dad (Daelin) heard his daughter had survived some pretty serious battles he went to find her, he also found the Horde. Believing the Horde would eventually betray and kill her, he ignored her wishes for peace with the Horde and proceeded to attack the newly settled Horde lands. Jaina seeing her dad couldn't be reasoned with actually allowed the Horde leader and champion to kill her father. Her last words to him were "Father, why wouldn't you listen" Her peace-loving attitude changed when many years Thrall went from bad-ass to a lil' bitch and left a young reckless Orc to lead the Horde called Garrosh (who did nothing wrong by the way). One thing lead to another a big war starts and Garrosh uses basically a nuclear bomb to wipe out Jaina's city, killing almost everyone including one of her best friend and her apprentice. Blah blah peace between factions, then war, then again peace blah blah many things you dont care about and now we reach this cinematic. After a self-imposed exile (sort of) Jaina revisits Theramore (her city) as seen at the start of the cinematic, finds her dad's old ship (the one she raised from the sea) and is returning to assist the alliance with yet another war against the Horde. The sea-shanty (song) used to be what her father sang to her when she was little, but after Daelin's death her people (the Kul'Tirans) turned it to what you heard here - a song calling out Jaina as a traitor. The only piece of dialogue you hear "I'm listening now father" is a callback to the line she said to her father when he died basically admitting she was wrong. (unfortunately this all gets negated since again Jaina chooses peace at the end) Ashzara: Ashzara as a Queen (also a super-powerful mage), turned the lands of the Night Elves to an empire which used the source of all magic of the planet called Well of Eternity to advance their society. Now this Queen (or more like Empress) also became ridiculously prideful and her snob-ness even exceeded her power with magic. She thought herself a Godess as she was the strongest of her people and the most beautiful one too. In the books it also pointed out that many of her servants men and women are entranced by her beauty and by the magic which sort of mind-controls them. Ok, now the part that should interest you more is that Miss Universe over there was contacted by the WoW version of Satan who promised her power over the whole planet, which she could then remake in her own image and she would serve as his Queen. The only thing she had to do was allow Satan and his army of demons to come in and wipe out all life on the planet. She gladly accepted the offer and started the summoning ritual using the most elite and also snobby sorcerers of her Empire known as "The Highborne" . Blah blah big war breaks out blah blah good guys have to stop summoning. In order to stop the summoning of Satan, the good guys have to blow up the Well of Eternity.... which they do, but the effect is so violent that the uniform mass that used to be Azeroth splits in two (refer to before-after maps in google images). What you see at the start of the cinematic in the Warbringers video is the moment the WoE blows up and the ocean floods Ashazara's city along with many of her loyal Highborne. Once the ocean consumes them Big-Tentacle boy named "N'zoth" shows up. I won't trouble you with more stuff about Mr.Hentai there since this is complicated enough already, but what you need to know is that Mr.Hentai and his crew - known as Old Gods - are inspired heavily by H.P. Lovecraft's mythos. So Mrs.Universe strikes a new deal this time, with Mr.Hentai who transforms her and the Highborne to the snake-people you saw at the end referred to as Naga --> inspired by Hinduism and other religions Sorry for exhausting you with info you don't care about xD

Well about Jaina and the song. The story is significantly more complex than daddy did bad and the daughter abandoned him that I have seen other say to reactors that don't have all the facts. First of all, according to the lore of the game the humans, dwarves and elves of the alliance have fought two major wars against the Orcs when they where under the influence of the demons. During those wars, the Orcs committed major war crimes against the humans, elves and dwarves, and none of those aforementioned people trusted that the Orcs would change their ways anytime soon. At the end of the second war, with the Alliance victorious, there were many voices that called for the systematic eradication of the Orc population, meaning genocide, and it was almost passed, that was how much the people of all races hated the Orcs. The one that stopped this and offered the alternative of putting the Orcs into concentration camps was one Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, Jaina's father and Admiral of the Kul Tiran fleet (Kul Tiran is an island nation and a member of the Alliance) and a hero of the Second War. Now, Admiral Proudmoore had plenty of reason to hate the Orcs. Not only they were responsible for thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of casualties to his fleet and people, as well as the Alliance as a whole, they had also killed both his sons during the War. So, from this you can infer that he wasn't an unreasonable man. Though he hated them with a passion, he was the one that saved the Orcs from extinction. Fast forward to the end of Warcraft 3. The Orcs, free at last from the demonic influence, have allied with the Night Elves and Jaina's faction in the continent of Kalimdor to fight the Demonic invasion. They honor that alliance and after defeating Archimonde, the then leader of the Burning Legion, they start building their capital of Orgrimmar, while maintaining friendly relations with Jaina that had built the city state of Theramore. Admiral Proudmoore was still in Kul Tiras defending it from the undead of Arthas, a faction allied with the Demons at the time, but was searching also for his daughter. He heard about Theramore and that his daughter was in Kalimdor, so he decided to prepare an expedition force to go to her and learn what she has being doing all this time. When he arrived at Kalimdor, he found Orcs building a forward base near Theramore. You must understand that when the Orcs left Lordaeron, they didn't leave in peace. They broke out of their concentration camps, killed the guards and nearby garrison force, looted the countryside for supplies and hit a naval base in order to gain the ships they needed to travel to Kalimdor. Knowing this, and remembering the destruction these invaders had wrought during the previous two wars, and not knowing that these Orcs had an alliance with the people of Theramore, he ordered a preemptive attack on the Orcs fearing they would attack his countrymen in Theramore. That led to an escalation of hostilities. The Orcs didn't want to start a war against the Humans, but they needed to defend themselves, but Admiral Proudmoore entered Theramore and assumed control of the city with his forces, ready to hunt down the Orcs. Jaina tried to stop her father telling him that she had an alliance with Thrall, the leader of the Orcs, and that there was no need for war, but Daelin didn't believe for a second that the Orcs could be trusted. They had, after all, betrayed them before, during the previous two wars and also when they escaped and looted the countryside and the naval base at Lordaeron. And so, ignoring his daughter's warning, he continued the war. He lost, when Jaina, fearing that the war would destroy her city and harm her people, made the decision to withdraw all her forces secretly and leave her father with only his own forces to face the Orcs. She asked Thrall to try and spare her father of possible, and he did try to spare the Admiral, but he, blinded by his hatred, fought to the end and he was killed. So you see, he wasn't a warmongering asshole as some might present him. He simply had no trust for these people that had betrayed and harmed his people and family again and again. Hell, his stance was justified if you take into consideration that these Orcs did attack and killed the people of Lordaeron when leaving. By his account and knowledge, these people couldn't be trusted to keep their word. He even warns Jaina that they would betray her. And guess what, the events leading to this scene, are a series of betrayals of her endless efforts to bring peace to the Alliance and Horde. The Horde, under the leadership of Grommash Hellscream after Thrall abdicated his position, started a war with the Alliance and even attacked Theramore claiming that it was a puppet state of Stormwind, the capital of the Alliance, and would be used as a staging ground to attack them. He didn't just invade, he used a Mana Bomb to level the city (Basically a Nuke), and killed every single person in the city, including all of Jaina's friends, allies and her apprentice. She only escaped because her direct superior in the mage's guild of Kirin Tor opened a portal and threw her in before the bomb exploded, saving her life. Here we see that she had enough and accepting that what her father said back then was right. The Horde is a blight to the world and cannot be trusted and their leaders are all betrayers. She has lost almost everything to the Horde and she is on the warpath. There is, of course, far more to the story, but I don't have the time to write all of it down.

Ah dude you should watch the in-game cutscenes for Battle for Azeroth. I see you’ve reacted to most of the cinematics (the really well-detailed ones) but the in game cutscenes are the ones that mostly tell Jaina’s story. She’s the best character in the entire 15 year long game imo. One of the few characters who tried to fight for peace until she couldn’t anymore. I see a lot of people are just info-dumping her origin story so I won’t bother with that haha, but I highly recommend you check out the cutscenes. Just a pre-warning in case you do, Laura Bailey literally kills the voice acting, she’s so amazing.

Jaina betrayed her father, in favor of a peace-treaty that was in turn betrayed as soon as the Orcs got a new warchief. Her father was the aggressor at the time though, and the last words she told her father was "Why would you not listen?". She was labelled a traitor by her own, and there is alot of symbolism of guilt in the video.

I see people have already commented on Jaina here, but I'll say my two cents as well as Jaina Proudmoore is my favorite (Female) warcraft character. To make a long story very short as others have commented it: What makes her story so beautiful is that she used to be more or less a pacifist, avoiding conflict if she could, proclaiming that everyone should be friends instead. This attitude resulted in her father dying to the Horde because of his own prejudices, which she blamed herself for (as they sing in the song, she stood aside when he faced the enemy). Much much later, a warmongering orc nuked the city she was ruling, which caused her to snap and become vengeful, warmongering and bitter, hating the Horde. (Here in this video she is singing a sea chanty her people made up about her being terrible, since they loved her father who was their admiral and king, without knowing the full context of what actually happened). At the conclusion of the expansion that gave us that song you just heard, she forgives herself and stops blaming herself for all that has happened, and comes to prefer peace again, although no longer a pacifist and no longer hesitant to spring into action if need be, she tries to go with peace over war, as was -not- the case during the song, where she embraced the terrible song her people wrote about her, kind of a: "They want me to be terrible, I'll be terrible"-kinda vibe. So what makes her story so great is that it shows you that even a pacifist can snap, become a terrible force to be reckoned with, but eventually find their way back to peace again. She's almost gone full circle.

On another note, World of Warcraft posted 4 new videos for the upcoming Shadowlands expansion, called Afterlives. TLDR on the first one Jaina was the daughter of prominent Admiral Proudmoore. He was hellbound on finishing the war agains the invading Orcs, Jaina went to them to try to make peace. Her father followed her thinking she needed saving, he got in trouble with the orcs/Horde, and she refused to help, he died. Her homeland saw this as the ultimate treachery, this song became the "cautionary tale" of their culture, "Beware the Daughter of the Sea". TLDR on second one Underwater tentacle-God was just posessing the fish to speak to her. She, Azshara, was a powerful sorcerer as well as the leader of the ancient elf race. I think this may be the first time these two characters were represented on screen. Most their history comes from books, Queen Azshara's Origin story" is basically the War of the Ancients trilogy, great read.

@oracola8282
@oracola8282 3 года назад
So real simple explanation cause there is really no cinematic for this. Azshara: Basically the earth was ruled by the Old Gods back in the day (think hp.lovecraft Cthulhu beings) until the Titans (aka the "gods") imprisoned them, this one is N'zoth bound beneath the ocean. Azshara was an empress and the most powerful sorceress in the world and got in contact with the leader of the demons and she was like "oh ok cool help me remake the world in my image and i will help you bring the demons on this planet". The good guys didnt like that so what ensued was called the War of the Ancients (all of this happened 10.000+ years ago) and it ended with the good guys winning and in the process the Well of Eternity (a powerful arcane lake) exploded causing the Sundering which is what we see in this video, a great calamity causing tsunamis etc. As she was dying Azshara made a deal with the Old God N'zoth and he turned her people into "mermaids" so they could survive.

Fun fact: Azshara planned to kill that “god” from the get go and in Battle for Azeroth expansion but she was defeated. The heroes of Azeroth saved her from being tortured by his minions and she gave them a dagger named Xal’atath to use and kill him. They succeeded by the way.

to get the backstory for Azshara you would need to go back 10000 years - she's at least that old - and the old god is even older. For Azshara you really need to read the books - War of the Ancients. For jaina you just need to watch All Jaina Cinematics & Cutscenes in Chronological Order - Battle for Azeroth (WOW BFA). If you want to get the big picture without any details you should probably watch the Full history of WoW in 23min - even though that doesn't include the first ones and their first creations....

Jainas' Song explained: Jaina is from Kul'Tiras, a faction and now race of humans. They are sea fairers and are the most powerful Alliance seamen. They had a song about the sea, which is now about Jaina. In Warcraft 3, Thrall, an Orc was visited by Medhiev (the guardian of Azeroth) in a dream and told to sail west to Kalimdor to save his people, which he eventually did. However, Jainas father the Lord Admiral - Daelin Proudmore, chased them as Jaina was with them, and he assume she was being held against her will. When he finally caught up with her and Thralls' new Horde, he was violent and wanted to literally kill all of the Orcs, he would not Relent. Jaina stood aside and let her father pick his fight, she refused to help. As a result, Daelin and most of his men died. Those of his men who survived made it back to Kul'Tiras and told of Jainas tretchery because she would not side with her own father and her people against the Orcs. So their cultural song about the sea became a warning not to trust Jaina. Which is why at the end she says 'Beware, beware of me.' The Ghost she sees is her father acting as a ferryman to his sunken Galleon, which Jaina then raises from the sea and uses to fight at the battle of Lorderon. The pendant she lifts from the fallen sword is her family crest, and the pendant was her fathers. She sings this song to remember the mistakes she made and signify her regret at not siding with her father. Azsharas' Warbringers explained: The Azshara event took place about 10,000 years ago. Elfs at the time were immortal. Queen Azshara reigned over her High Elf population for millenia. The tidal wave? That is 'the well of eternity' being ripped asunder. The Well of Eternity is an ocean, not a well and it was a very potent font of power for the High Elves and the magic they used. When the well was destroyed it caused the super-continent of Kalimdor to split and become what it is now, leaving behind a large vortex called The Maelstrom. Azshara made a deal with Sargeras (The Mad Titan) that she would assist his burning crusade, but only ifg she got to rule as queen. When she first heard Sargeras (Whom she assumed was a god, not a titan) she thought that he would make a good mate to breed with, this is her arrogance at play. This is why she says 'This is not the deal I made' She held back the tidal wave not for her people, but for her Kingdom. It was an entirely selfish desire. She is possibly the most powerful mage Azeroth has ever had. The fish is a servant of an old god called N'zoth.It speaks to Sylvanas inher own voice. N'zoth was physically the weakest of the old gods that had infected Azeroth (Think cancerous tumour with an agenda for old gods in WoW). However, he was the smartest and could plan eons ahead of time. He kinda baits Azshara into accepting his deal while having her believe she has the upperhand. The red place you see is a glimpst of Nya'Lotha, the mad city where only mad things sleep and even death may die. When Azshara says it's magnificent it's because she wishes to rule Nya'Lotha. Her ego is and always will be massive. Azsharas bluff is a semi serious bluff. She would be willing to let herself and her people die if she could not be queen. As a result N'zoth transforms her and her people into the Naga. The Naga are an amphibous folk, they can live in deep seas or on land, although they prefer deep seas. Azshara is not deserving of sympathy, she would have people tortured for her own entertainment and she literally invited demons onto Azeroth knowing full well they would kill everything she didn't want to keep, as that was the deal she made. In the warbringer video when her people are begging her to save them, she denies any and all responsibility for her actions that led directly to what happened.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore was daughter to the high admiral of Kul Tiras; Daelin Proudmoore. When the burning Legion (army of demons) invaded Azeroth she sought help from the Orks with their new Horde. When her father tried to find her he found her negotiating with the Orks and saw them as nothing but animals that had kidnapped his daughter. There was a fight and Jaina's father was killed. When the war with the legion was over, Jaina set up port in Kalimdor near the Ork city of Durator where she still had good and strong relations with the Ork Warchief Thrall. Thrall ended up giving up his title to the Ork Garrosh who decided he wanted to go back to the old ways and cut ties with former alliances. So he attacked and destroyed Jaina's home, killing just about everyone. The cinematic is her burying the dead and at a cross roads where she wondered if her father was right; that orks can't be trusted.

So basically, 10,000 years ago, Azshara made a deal with demons to cleanse the world and make it a paradise, they failed, and when they did it caused “the sundering” which put most of the continent underwater(which is what you saw). What reached out to her was an old god, N’zoth(like Cthulhu but less squid and more eyes). And then made a new deal with him. 10,000 years later(Azshara isn’t around for a while) The demons are back, and jaina is partnering with the horde to beat them, and they do! Yay! They get a nice treaty going and are living in peace. Well her dad comes to find, and “save her” and basically starts all out war with her new allies. She partners with them to beat her dad, and so basically for the next 20 years she is branded a traitor to her own people. And that’s pretty much it, in a nutshell! Love the videos! Keep it up!

As for getting the story in video format: Unfortunatly, they are not really told that way; you would have to watch quite a bit of gameplay footage which is significantly less engaging and visually pleasing. There are compilations out there that condense certain story arcs, but they are still hours long. There's also lore videos that tell the story much like the people in the comments do (though with more effort put in and with background video); I'd recommend those if you want to "get" the characters for yourself, but I don't think they make good reaction material in the slightest.

Having played wow for years, I always loved Jaina and hated how she was just a minor character in a forgotten town (Theramore), been loving what they've been doing with her, and her redemption arc in BFA. I still shed a tear everytime (just now when I watched this) I watch or hear to this song, it's so beautiful

Yup there is loads of lore when it comes to Warcraft. Horde, Alliance, Old gods, Titans, Demons, Undead. Lots of good stories that happen in game and in other media. Cinematics, manga, or full novels. There is already 15+ years of story that exist and we are about to have loads more lore in a month when the expansion Shadowlands comes out. An expansion where there is something wrong with the Afterlife and we have to go there to fix it.

Jaina's arc is the only arc that grew her character in a good way in this expansion (Battle for Azeroth). You should really react to her in-game cutscenes for this expansion. It's good! :) It explains quite a lot, and the confusing things aren't That important honestly. To add to that, the human storylines are generally the most relatable ones for most people, no matter how much we might try to think otherwise. They are the stories most based in our "Earth/European-American culture". Maybe also react to the "Battle for Lordaeron" cutscenes to see how this expansion starts and how powerful she is. Azshara might be the most powerful azerothian mage of all time, but Jaina is surely fighting hard for second place.

Thanks! I'll maybe put out a poll about it... even tho I haven't been good at following through on the results of the polls, I really like hearing everyones thoughts on what I should do next.

P.S. The Azshara cinematic is quite obviously the most confusing one. Like... I often feel like people should skip it for the BfA/War campaign story. After we hit the Azshara/N'zoth story in BfA most people agreed that BfA was beyond... "redemption", or whatever you feel is a suitable word. So yeah, the Azshara cinematic takes place 10 000 years earlier and humans didn't even exist. HaHAA

Seems my Sundays aren't complete till I've gotten to spend some time with Hannah. Another very fine NGW video. That History of WoW in 23 Minutes is a good video. Has a little humor in the mix that keeps it light. It did you my pause quite a bit to take it all in because it moves so quickly. A video that maybe does a better job is "The Story of Warcraft - Full Version 2.0 [Lore] by Nobble87. It is 41 minutes long. I know a number of people in comments recommend him, too. Till the next time. Take care

Azshara have a very limited "known" history as her name has always been very known but compared to most other caracters there is very little confirmed information about her. Infact before this Warbringer Azshara there was almost nothing about her atall. Jaina on the other hand is the compleate opposite. There is massive amount of lore around her and if u want to learn her lore and who she is. Then instead of the Blizzard videos i would instead recommend user made videos. They tend to be more specific and will explain the caracter over a longer timeframe aswell. Ofc this would make the good videos mostly around 1 hour if not longer but if u really want to know, Those are the videos to watch. This video covers most up untill 2018 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vauVUmhfaxg.html&ab_channel=Nobbel87 This is her story after Warbringer Jaina when she return to her home and the ppl that think of her as nothing more then a traitor learns the truth of what really happened. I couldent find a good user made video explaining all of this but these cinematics do a very good job at telling this part of the story. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5V9C_q20Sd0.html&ab_channel=Coolpedia

Jaina Proudmoore was given an opportunity to flee her war loving father and her homicidal boyfriend Arthus so she left and took any that would follow her and built a new kingdom not far from the Horde capital and was on natural standing with them however her father latter followed her and found the orcs near her and out of hate attacked the orcs and when he asked her to join him she said no and now holds there fate on her shoulders at lest that's how her people see it

if you want to get some backstory you should type Nobbel + (whatever charakter/Weapon) in your RU-vid Search, he basically covered everything lore relevant in WoW. If you want to get some written stuff, the Bookseries "WoW Chronicles" gives you an overview over the story, beginning with the Creation of the Univerese and fundamental Powers at work. It's hard to encapsulate the story of some charakters like Aszhara which basically lived for over 10000 Years in the Storyline, The WoW Universe is older than 20 Years so there has been a lot of story, and redconned story.

Recently started watching your NGW series of videos, I'm not sure why the format of watching someone who's never played these games react to trailers that I've watched at least a dozen times already is so interesting but it is and thank you for the entertainment. Another game series that you might want to consider is Halo, there's a mix of CGI and live action trailers for the series and it's a gaming franchise with a transmedia narrative that spans 19 years and counting. Should you be interest in watching/reacting to the trailers, the series in narrative chronological order is a follows; Halo Wars Halo Reach Halo Combat Evolved Halo 2 Halo 3 ODST Halo 3 Halo 4 Halo 5 Halo Wars 2

Thank you! From what people have said to me, is watching me watch them is like seeing them for the first time again for some. 😊 Maybe that's why. I haven't watched any halo, but is there a good story? Cause I really didn't love assassin's Creed . The trailers didnt have a story, even tho I've heard the game does.
@SevenHalcyon
@SevenHalcyon 3 года назад
@@HannaHsOverInvested Yeah, that might be it! Whatever it is, its good fun. Halo does have a good story, though I don't know how well the trailers convey that story. The gist of the story is this; In the far future, humanity after discovering faster than light travel have expanded across the stars and colonized planets through out the galaxy. Over time the colonies want independence from earth and rebellion starts in the outer colonies. The United Nation Space Command or UNSC begin to quell the insurrection. They simultaneously begin a super soldier project called the SPARTAN project. During the course this project the government illegally kidnaps children who have specific genetic markers that make them suitable for the program, one of these children is the protagonist of the game, the character you play. He grows up and becomes a super soldier known as SPARTAN 117, the Master Chief (his rank in the navy and what he's referred to through most of the game). These SPARTANs are initially deployed against the separatist but soon encounter a hostile, fanatical alien species called the covenant who are bent on the complete and total eradication of the human race in the pursuit of fulfilling their great purpose. The game starts at this point. Humanity stops its in fighting now that their very survival is on the line. The game series than mostly follows the heroics of the player character against the enemies of humanity. The game also has a very fun character dynamic between the protagonist and his AI companion Cortana.
