Yeah I bought mine in February, but I have no interest in buying a csl dd rn. From what it seems I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade

I had mine for over a year. So I was due for a upgrade. The v1.1 was a good wheel base though.

I bought a new Thrustmaster SF1000 wheel 3 weeks before the anouncement so I feel your pain as I will also change over to the DD.

Wow, my Elite is insanely quiet and smooth. The only noise I notice is the fan. I haven't tried a CSW to compare, but we have entirely different opinions on this wheel. Also of note, my Elite is the PS4 version. It is newer, and might have different specs to yours.

I was thinking the same. The only thing I ever hear from my csl elite (ps4) is the fan when I shut everything else down. I also run with full 7.2 surround blasting. But I have zero complaints about sound. The golf ball in a cup feel tho, that one hit home lol. Curbs are a little silly sometimes

@@BenFilley I tried their settings and I see why they have the golf ball sounds and I didn't. In the beginning I noticed the FEI setting made the wheel rattle so I stopped using it. I forget they like to use it in their setups, thus the sound.

@@u107916 I don’t even mind it tbh. That sharp vibration is a fantastic indicator of brake lock or tire scrub.

I got mine yesterday and I was excited like a small kid at X-mas time, but after three hours with it I am honestly dissapointed. It is noticably weaker than my CLS Elite PS/4, even with the boost kit. If I press FFB test button in the Fanatec configuration software with the CLS ELite, it shakes the wheel so violently that I need two hands to hold it and I am litterally worried it will damage itself. But with the CLS DD I can easily hold the wheel with one hand when set to 100%. It feels like 50% of the CLS Elite. As for driving it the CLS DD feels slightly more precise and refined, but the overall feeling does not in any way impress me. Only thing is the absence of the FFB deadzone on the CLS Elite near the top position. That's nice. But on the other hand I get so much more power from the Elite that I litteraly have to fight the wheel when set to max FFB. I'll give anothe try today but if I cant get more power out of it, it's going back.7

so what did you ended up doing? because i'm between the GT DD PRO 8N and an used CSL ELITE + pedals for my PC and PS5 And can you return the wheel to fanatec if you don't like it?? best regards

If you are a prior Fanatec customer with a Fanatec account and on their e-mail list you will get an email and can log in to your account and pre order the new Elite DD wheelbase in either the 5nm or 8nm configuration now with the "wave 1" preorder. Of course you will have to pay for the product now and it will be a estimated September delivery date at this time. I have seen online post that people have said as long as you are a prior purchaser with an existing account that you can log in and order the new wheelbase even if you are not on the e mail list. There is a 1 item per customer purchase limit as well.

Will can you give me an honest answer please?I have a csl elite and I love it only thing now after racing for a year I just want more strength/ffb when on the limit. Is the DD worth it only for strength nothing else?please let me know. Thanks man huge fan of the channel!

The csl elite is 6nm. You would have to go for the 8nm for it to be worth the upgrade.

if you dont buy the boost kit the DD is weaker 100% than the Csl elite 1.1 but faster response to recovery. Once you add the power pack it is noticeable stronger than the elite right way. Point being no way to buy the Csl DD without the power pack as you will be unhappy no questions

My CSL elite is way too loud loud in certain sims so I have to turn down the FEI setting, it makes more noise than my buttkicker haha. Time to save for a DD base.

Vegemite seems more an Australian thing, but according to the taste description of Wikipedia it should remain that way😁. I wouldn't be so sure about the 2nd hand prices since there will be many used belt-drive-bases floating the market once Fanatec ship the CSL DDs.

I just got my csl elite for my PS4 along with an ancient Clubsport V1 pedal lol I'm a pretty happy camper so far , thinking to get a compatible steering wheel for Xbox soon so I can play Forza horizon 🤣

You need to be careful with some of these guys. There are sent products prelaunch to review and keep in exchange for good reviews on there products. So you might not always get the answer you want. Barry and Sim Racing Garage for example waited until full launch to review. Not accusing Boosted of this but it’s very common within the tech RU-vidrs

I have the CSL Elite ps4 + wheel, and using a F-GT lite rig. I am about to pre-order the Mclaren V2 wheel, and am thinking about upgrading to the CSL DD 8mn too. I am in doubt because I have read, that the flex in a portable rig means that you loose most of the advantages of the smoothness (fidelity) in DD, and the force may cause the rig to flex too much. I need this portable rig, and I don't care about the noise, since I use headphones. What do you guys think? Just buy the Mclaren V2 wheel, or go with the 8mn too?

Csl dd + new formula v2.5 + new csl pedal is $300 more than the csl elites. Imo it’s worth it lol but I can’t know for sure

Am I right that the wheels I have for my Clubsport 2.5 will work with the CSL DD? If so there will soon be a 2.5 base on eBay....

It will be fine. I used a csl dd (8nm) on a open wheeler and it handled it just fine. I wouldn’t go anything above it. Maybe an accuforce v2 turned down to 50% but that’s about it.

CSL DD, hands down. The 8Nm version with Boost Kit 180 is cheaper than the CSW v2.5

I've had my Elite for 6 months, it's just too loud! Sold it three days ago for 750€ and ordered my CSL DD8 yesterday! :-)

@@alexboulger4638 I don't know, when I ordered it I was told that it would be delivered immediately, but for the pedals it said that it would be available from July. EDIT: I checked again, the invoice says delivery date 15 September :-/
