Rest the bike on the roof first, climb onto door opening then place front wheel into carrier. Thats how i do it with my DH bike!

You need about 8-10" inches for the Frontloader's head portion.

How noisy is the drive with the bike rack attached?

Noise isn't a common complaint that I have heard with this rack. Bars tend to make the most noise at highway speeds. If you do get wind noise there should be a way to help reduce it. Wind noise can be hard to comment on as every rack set up and vehicle is it's own thing, so many variables to consider. Hope that helps and thanks for the great question.

Hello. Yes, it fits 20” to 27.5” wheels with tire widths up to 3” and 29" wheels with tires widths up to 2.7". Thanks!

I would highly recommend against roof racks in general. Lifting and securing heavy bikes overhead is such a pain. Get a hitch rack 👍

My Outback was totaled because an F150 didn’t stop fast enough and folded my rack into the rear of my car. Roof racks all day!

This is a terrible design. Look how hard it was to get the bike onto the rack and into the wheel cradle. I have these racks and hate them. Also have Thule ProRides on my other car and no issues at all getting the bikes on.

The host used a SUV for demonstration, which increased the difficulty of the task. I always think hitch based bike mount is a better option for SUV. For sedan, putting the bike on this rack is not hard.

@@songgao9858 it's MUCH harder than with a Thule roof carrier. I have both and the Yakima is a pain

The Thule style carriers are easier to use but aren't recommended for carbon bikes as there's a risk of crushing the downtube. Also in my experience they don't also work well with full sus bikes as the shock or bottle cage can get in the way.

@@AlanHead I've used the Thule system for the last ten years with various full sus mtbs, carbon and alloy, road and Gravel bikes and never had an issue. My last two MTBs had the shock mounted on the down tube just in front of the BB and again, no issues. Sure, of you have a weird style bike with absolutely no space on the down tube to mount the clamp then look at another system but unless you have a low roof car, don't get this system. For anything like 4x4 or SUV....get something else or make sure you always carry a step ladder!
