Probably not if the fight is under muay thai rules/scoring against a world class lumpinee or rajadamnern champ in his prime. But... it would be very interesting to see a well trained, well conditioned Filipino fighter use this style and make a name for himself in glory kickboxing. There, he'd be against a wide variety of world class strikers from muay thai to karate to Dutch kickboxing and many more, under Glory kickboxing rules, not muay thai rules.

And the round house kicks of yaw Yan are unique... By da way many Muay Thai fighters knock out by yaw Yan in just 1 round or 2 rounds.. but yaw Yan respects a lot to Muay Thai because it is the father of kick boxing..
I think it has to do with mentality. Most Muay Thai practitioners are taught to simply maim/break bones/disable especially the ones practicing sport Muay Thai. Yaw-Yan from the word Sayaw ng Kamatayan or Dance of Death practitioners are taught to actually kill if they have to. Not disrespecting Muay Thai, it's still one of the most effective martial art. It's edge against Yaw-Yan is that it is proven effective because of sparring and pressure testing.
Not necessarily muay thai focused more on clinching ( talking about the most widely known style of muay thai atleast) yaw yan is more centered on delivering a heavy blow via using a kick in a chopping motion, otherwise they are mostly the same.
