Love this channel. I didn't get to read many comics growing up, but watching all these videos has introduced me to so many cool storylines that I've now checked out to read in full. Keep it coming!!
I just want to that you for showing the cover of the comic and saying what it actually is because all to often people review comic books but never say the name of the series or comic number and it makes some comics just way to hard to find which results in me never being able to buy it to enjoy a good example is me trying to find deadpool 2008 comic book issue number 10 when deadpool kills the pizza guy everyone gives me the same info 2008 deadpool #10 but then when I ask them a simple question as in which series or show me the cover of the comic book no one ever responds so it is something simple as saying the full name of a comic book and showing people the cover of the comic book that helps make a difference when someone does not know what they are looking for when they want to buy a physical copy to add to there collection so I just wanted to say thank you and maybe consider doing it for all comic book reviews going forward in the future it only takes a second but for some people struggling to find things threw hundreds of series it helps making a difference so thank you
Not the first time im seeing some super creative ideas ccoming out of the nightwing comics. There was also an issue that was just one long continuous panel, like a one-shot film.
I'd totally be down for them to do a POV Spiderman comic. That would be really cool. Also really dug this comic and the bold choice to do this through the eyes of Nightwing
“I Am Nightwing” was the comic I’ve wanted since I was a child. My dad bought me the first collected volume of Nightwing (1997) in 1999 when I was 8 years old, and I was hooked. He instantly became my favorite character and still is my favorite DC hero. Tom Taylor has been the best Nightwing writer in recent memory, and he finally let me live my dream of living a day in the life of Nightwing. Everyone should read this series, because it’s the perfect jumping on point and a beautiful celebration of the character.
This reminds of a movie called “Hardcore Henry”. We need more comics, tv shows, or movies that are in a main character’s pov. It would be very interesting, since there’s not a lot like that.
I was going to make a joke about pov Starfire r34, but the fact that the comic's literal first panel has you waking up next to Barbara Gordon is funnier than anything I could've come up with
Nightwing comics are really good these days Okay for the last two years. Tom King has done an extraordinary job writing Dick Grayson and I as a DickBabs guy is loving it. Highly recommend it
I feel like Spiderman authors don’t really even care about spiderman anymore. At least the DC authors care enough about Nightwing to go on strike when the publisher (whose name I forgot) wanted to kill Nightwing off.
A comic or anything from Spider-Man's point of view would be nuts. I think VR would be a fun experience. I like to think the author watched a bunch of first person videos of guys doing parkour off of tall buildings and such.
I love that you said support your local comic shops in the end. Online shopping and viewing comics for free on said sites, are slowly killing the stores really. Kinda similar to what Netflix did to a little store we call Blockbuster.
As always I’m loving your content, you manage to find the most obscure works and every upload comes across as a passion project. I especially love your focus on ‘slice of life’ comics and the more human aspects.
This is AWESOME!! Thanks, MM, definitely going onto my list of issues to look for. You're really good at narrating the f'ed up stories, but I love these positive ones that really mean something to you, equally well!
it felt so good watching this video. I really love Nightwing and Babs dynamic as a due. I started reading the new 52 comics for all the bat family but reading stuff in chronological order is kinda hard can you make videos about collecting or reading order?
These POV comics should definitely continue. Imagine a Superman, Batman, Green Arrow, The Flash etc. Also if it continues at Marvel, I'd kill for a POV Spider-Man, Daredevil or Iron Man comic.
The whole time I was thinking this would be perfect for Spider-Man comic. Especially when I remember how fun was in movie first person. Well I remember it like it was fun, now i dont know what to think but hey whatever.
To be honest that is a very interesting take on hero's point of view and I'm not too big on Nightwing having a sister but the rest of the comic was pretty interesting.
Besides me not seeing anything in common between Peter and Grayson tbh, ofc some similarities but enough to call them the same guy? Nah… the whole “Nightwing’s one word” gag here is similar to Peter fans saying “Spider-man” is two words which is where the hyphen iirc comes from… it’s not supposed to be “Spiderman” like me and a buncha other folks spell his name. So, “Mr.Wing” is literally incorrect but “Mr.Man” for Peter would be lmao. I saw this on Reddit There really was a bad guy Nightwing recently beat up that looked like Paul, any Spider-fan knows who that infamous character is, ngl, whether by accident or intentional, I’m looking forward to more Spider-man/Marvel jabs. We need a Metahuman with powers similar to Gambit’s that Nightwing could beat up to help settle that fight lmao.
I was thinking a flash comic one. its always been difficult to show in film because if you use bullet time and have everyone go slow it doesn't have the same punch, in fact in film language it can read as time based powers. This is where graphic novels have an interesting ability, they can warp our sense of time. picture something like an average minute in the Flash's life. Neither film nor book can encapsulate his speed, here we have this unique ability to put ourselves in his pov. What would superspeed feel like, what would we see, how many thoughts would be running through our heads as we whizzed through central city chasing some Rouges while saving a kitten from a tree and an old man unware of oncoming traffic as he goes about his walk, catch a child's falling ice cream, back to the rouges you finish them off, and alert the police, in person of course.
Who is the artist, whoever it is needs a raise cause the art is beautiful and I can’t wait for the omnibus, but I just love Barbra and Dick together they’re my favorite couple
