@@ianhill4585 Yes and no. I've been trying to get the police to act on a local junction. 1,200 offences an hour, £1.2 million in fines up for grabs. You would have though they were interested. They aren't. Instead they are out on mass enforcing £1.50 fares for TFL. But in general, fines are the new taxes.
I make you right. Police deliberately parking their vehicles outside the police car park in order to make space for their own private vehciles. This is wrong!
He is a sergeant so ir is more than low level corruption. Let us hope that the car does not cause someone to get run over because they could not see another car coming; particularly a child. Utter treason imo! The sergeant belongs in jail to my mind!
In 1994 I used to live just up the road from this nick, and having found an empty handbag in one of the Sainsbury's trolleys I thought I'd hand it in as the police station was on my way home. They were already dealing with a man who had had valuable stuff stolen from his car, and had found the thief's toolkit left behind in it - a useful clue, you might have thought, for fingerprints etc. I waited while the desk sergeant filled out the report form with the chap, noting down times, places etc , and finally congratulating the man on bringing it in and thanking him for helping out the police. As soon as the man left, though, right in front of me and with no attempt to hide it, he tore up all the paperwork he'd just filled out and threw it in the bin along with the toolkit. He then turned to me with a sarcastic smile, knowing I had seen him do this, and asked "And how can I help YOU today, sir?" That was when I finally realised how the police really operate.
Yes . Seen that as well with a stolen recovered ladies handbag from the river. Personal items cards etc and the added wall brick. Copper just threw it in the bin behind the counter.
They know or a great many know who an officer is but don't want to be seen as grasses, which wouldn't go down well with other colleagues, still it doesn't excuse what the officer said to AB. @@peterjones7763 But we obviously do have one rule for them and one rule for us cause the police appear to have a habit of making up rules to suit themselves.

Utter rubbish I’m afraid. The Police and other emergency services are allowed to park on double yellows if they are on duty. On duty does not just mean responding to an incident or other blue light scenario. AB really should have done a bit more research on this one. If your opinion is that they shouldn’t have this right under legislation, then complain to the House of Lords and Parliament. Complaining to Police about the law is ridiculous and futile. They have absolutely no power in making or changing the law. They uphold it.
It’s for them to hide up hoping they don’t have to actually try to catch REAL criminals. The statistics for crimes solved is pathetically low. They’re more concerned with revenue collection.
Try complaining to 101 Good luck they are worse then police officers in the police station for their disgusting egotistical behaviour and ego is controlled by the devil

You need to send this video to the Chief Constable and request his comments on the complete disregard his constables have for the laws regarding parking. Interested to hear his comments.
Don't hold your breath on that one. All these Police vehicles are parked in accordance with the prevailing UK law. All Emergency Vehicles are permitted to park on double yellow lines whilst 'on duty'. Totally different to 'Public Service' vehicles on an emergency call. You may not like it, but there you go.

From the West Midlands Police website: "Can police cars park on yellow lines? The Highway Code states that traffic laws apply to everyone, even police cars. The police are only allowed to stop on double yellows if they are dealing with a motorist or attending an emergency."
Nope, I'm afraid you have got this all wrong. AB got it wrong this time. Many people here are quoting the UK Highway Code. The Highway Code is not law. Never has it been. Secondly, the prevailing Statute allows all Emergency Service vehicle to park on double yellow lines. You may not like that fact, but the law deals in facts. Not opinions. I think the confusion is in the wording of the law. It states that 'Public Service' vehicles cannot park on double yellow line unless responding to an emergency. But Public Service vehicles are not Emergency Vehicles. Public Service vehicles are designated as water, gas and electricity services. They can only park on double yellow lines in the event of an emergency. However, Emergency Vehicles (Police, F&R and Ambulances) can legally park on double yellows when 'on duty'. 'On Duty' is not the same as being on an emergency call. Since all EVs are available to all personal it basically means that all EVs are 'on duty' 24/7. You may not like it, but that's the prevailing law. This also means stopping on a double yellow to buy your lunch is legal. Legal, yes 100%. Does it look good? Probably not. Does your opinion matter? No, since we are dealing with Statute. And remember, the police have zero input on making or changing the Law.

Also, the Sergeant has a really bad attitude....telling you that you had to notify him that he was being recorded! Wow, really? I'd suggest filing a complaint against him!!! Keep up the great work AB!!
On the I can't take the complaint. You can complain directly to the police/other organisation (see ‘Who can I complain about?’ below for a list of the other organisations) or via the IOPC. If you complain via the IOPC, your complaint will be sent direct to the organisation involved. They will assess your complaint and contact you about how it will be handled. The IOPC will not be involved with this initial assessment of your complaint. You can and are making the complaint direct to him. He has to take it. Not only that, since he's been told, he has to report the officer internally or he breaks section 10 of his code of ethics. However, in practice, the IOPC route to report the complaint is the way to go.
Basically. If you want to complain about a member of the peasant public, they'll happily take it and follow up. If it's a complaint against the police, a politician or an extremely wealthy person, they can't.

It is a parking offence for any vehicle to park on double yellow lines unless it's an emergency service vehicle attending an emergency. The police CAN be ticketed for parking offences. The police excuse of there not being enough room in their car park is NOT a valid exemption simply because the yellow line parking restrictions were introduced to limit parking so any emergency vehicle could not be obstructed from getting near to an emergency, eg fire engine has to have so much of a road clear of parked vehicles along it's length. If the council has told it's wardens to ignore infractions by the police they are technically in the wrong, ANY vehicle can become an obstruction in an emergency. Also, the police should only allow marked police vehicles to park in their yard. If i was that cars owner i would be PISSED. Great video as usual. Yet another pompous git in the reception.
Dead right. The police should not have merged stations if the building and car parks were not fit for purpose. That’s not the responsibility of the public, that’s dipsticks deciding to merge when they shouldn’t. “Is there space in the car park for the extra vehicles?” “No, we’ll just park on the double yellows and blame the lack of space.” Great logic. I’m not sure I would trust some of these people to sit the right way round on a bicycle.
@@alexr8996 That would not stand up as a defence - if it did, then hundreds of tickets would not be paid by police officers every year. Which they have to, out of their own pockets.

At no point does it say the vehicle must be used for emergency purposes. Forces may have policies around it though. I admit its not ideal but it's still the wording regardless. Imagine how ridiculous it would be expecting police, paramedics and firefighters to have to run around back to the vehicle parked only god knows where when they have to go to an emergency 😂
Ultimately the road markings are there for the safety of pedestrians, this is no joke. They're putting the safety of the public in danger and they're certainly not above the law. That civil enforcement agent should have ticketed every single one of them and keep doing so everyday, until they get the message. One was even parked on a bus stop.
Exact same issues here in a coastal village (Malahide), Dublin Ireland. The local Council (Fingal County Council) have an agreement with the local police (Garda) that their traffic wardens will not ticket Garda official vehicles or privately owned vehicles owned by members of the Gardaí. To ensure the warden doesn’t ticket the privately owned vehicles, (which are regularly untaxed and parked on double yellows/blocking ‘dropped kerbs’ (designed for wheelchairs)), the local Gardaí place a small blue piece of paper on their windscreen. This alerts the warden so as not to be ticketed. The council deny any knowledge of this ‘agreement’ , despite one of their own wardens telling me this. They claim the warden was a trainee and incorrect in her understanding of the rules. This corruption occurs daily in many places. 🙄
The Highway Code suggests that police are only allowed to stop on double yellows if they are dealing with a motorist or attending an emergency. They are outside their own station, so no emergency here.
