Those are the same people that have a string of bad relationships and they say “I just haven’t been lucky”. I don’t buy it. Maybe there’s an unmet childhood need there because of a bad parent dynamic and they try to meet that need in their adult relationship or look for that same kind of relationship as adults because it’s familiar. I don’t believe some cosmic force keeps them from liking someone that’s good to them.

Yes, as a man I think It is not inconsistent behaviour if someone always does it. That is just you not wanting to accept that you don't like the type of consistency he shows. Of course it is inconsistency, but that perspective brings you in a bad mindset about if somebody is tricking you or not. Instead let's define consistency not as what someone says, but as the things someone does. Could he be more clear about it and just simply say that he doesn't care about writing each day for example? Sure. But that is true for everybody, men and women, we always see ourselves as different from our actions. We always want to do more things than what we actually do. So the question if someone is lying or not is often even misplaced. Because that person might lie to you, to themselves or any combination of it. And it will just end up in arguments who is actually lying, exaggerating etc etc. However we all should accept that what matters for other people is never what we want to do, but only what we actually do. We should give the benefit of the doubt when deciding if someone did something with malicious intent. However we should not be just hoping that it changes. There only cold facts count. If s/he continues doing something, then it is our job to understand that this is how they are and we need to decide if we can live with it or not. No matter what is said or what their intentions are. We also put ourselves way too much in the center often and see lies that are no lies at all for other people. "I am too busy" is not a lie. He told you he has better things to do. The issue is that you can't accept that he actually thought about all the things he could do, and decided against you. That is not a lie. That is him choosing other priorities than you. Making things about truths and lies often distracts from what is actually going on. He clearly told you that he doesn't want to rearrange other stuff for you. You are the one not hearing what is said.

Damn thats a story..yes men are oversexualizing women nowadays. Its also one of the reasons i got into anxiety. Watch for red flags and love bombing. I give guys 12-16 weeks to slip up when they do run. My former husband slipped up within that time frame but I was 26 and spent all my time studying my degree instead of studying people and relationships so I didn't know his behaviour was abnormal. I also have my own dysfunction as diagnosed with BPD. now I don't give myself a free pass to f up my life so why would I give a man a free pass. I'm 40 next week. Relationships crash and burn on all the same things and it is not a man thing or a woman thing it's a people thing. One thing men are super loyal to is their bag. Girl I can relate so much. I broke off a 2 year and a half relationship a bit over 2 months now. We ended relatively okay, but I realized how much I tolerated the bare minimum he was giving me while I was like letting him LIVE with me for FREE for almost a whole year. He never thanked me for that. It's mind-blowing, because I thought he wasn't that kind of person when I started dating him. Maybe he got too confortable. At least now I know never to do that again. I've been more alone like you, not really close to any friends. It's hard but at least I enjoy my own company now. Anything is better than being in that hellhole of a relationship 🤣😭
