I'm a senior golfer and have been using this change in my back swing. It has added back more power and accuracy. Watch John Rahm's swing as well. He does this same thing and is one of the most powerful golfers in the world. The leading knee bend is also key to get power. Also this swing is easier on the body and my old joints. Thanks for the videos!

Yup I think of, busting down the door with like a ram like a cop would.... With the handle end like that and it forces my hips though the door...

This might be one of the single most effective swing thoughts I have ever used. I know tips and drills like these can be specific to the person trying them, but for me this one has been awesome. I am recovering from a pinched nerve in my neck and am not able to take anything more than an abbreviated swing for a few months, according to my neurologist anyway, so no golfing just practice. The timing of finding this one could not have been better. Really helps me to make clean solid contact. I look forward to being able to use this one on the course.

Love this! ... My on course thought has always been takeaway and downswing on the angle of the club shaft at address (slightly different for each club, of course). Next round, I'm going to replace that thought with this new one focused on the handle. Thank you!

Funny timing I was looking at my swing videos from the summer and was wondering what makes me come in a little steep and hit pull hooks. I was told a million times butt end first when I grew up playing badminton. I'm honestly embarrassed I never thought of how that could translate to my golf game lol. It's like an instant fix doing swings at home. Snow here so can't play sadly but this will stick for sure. Awesome tip!

The golf swing is a one time ‘handle over club head swing’ as our body is rotating from one side to the other. Simply have loose oily wrists and don’t let go of the handle as your body rotates from start to finish of your swing. Do this you won’t know if you’re swinging the club or the club is swinging you. I know through practice that this swing thought works. I just never think of bringing this to the golf course. I've never once even thought about this swing tip while I'm on the course. But I sure hope I remember it the next time because I strike the ball very solid when I think of it practicing into my golf net at home.

In baseball, basically the same thing, if you swing the handle at the ball you'll quit the first time the ball hits your hands. Crazy advice. In golf handle in club head out to the ball = centrifugal force = club head speed.

excellent video, thank you! Do you have any tips for finding sense for the club head swinging? That's when i hit best and i can't figure out how to sense the club head swinging as i swing far too tense i believe = /

Will give this a try. Thinking back, my attention during swing has shifted between handle and club face. Resulting in too much scatter, confusion when I know I hit it solid

I like when you stuck a tee in the end of the grip. I’ve been thinking about the grip of my left hand when addressing the ball. The V of the left hand pointing towards the right shoulder. So that three knuckles are seen on the left hand.

Doing something similar in my practice. I think it may be entirely psychological. Before I start backswing I visualize the handle at impact: pointing at my lead leg. Then swing away. I think it uncouples the “hit” impulse, which is a short circuit in my swing. All I want to do is return the handle to address position, not thinking about mechanics, letting my brain do the work.

MY Teacher the great "JIMMY BALLARD" said why in world would you pull the (handle) at the ball when you hit the ball with the club head?!! Squaring an axe on a tree < would you pull the handle or deliver the head of the axe? Do you think if you were in the batters box and the fast ball was coming 98 mph, would you pull the handle or thinking about getting the "FAT" part of the ball to the ball? ..... MrShortGame, with all due respect what you have talked about and demonstrated is not what Curtis Strange (2 US opens) Hal Sutton (Pga championship) & many others do. I remember distinctly one day beside Jimmy with Jasper Parvnik and Jasper said "I need to speed up the club head"! Focus on the thing that hits the ball, just like they do in Tennis!!

Matt, don’t you want the handle on an INSIDE path, so the clubhead goes OUT to the ball? In baseball, the handle goes in, the end of the bat goes OUT. No?

Not bad aside from ripping the club inside with an open face on the takeaway @ 1:33. You'd have to have some strong rotation/wrist manipulation to get the club back to square on the downswing. Although, your actual demonstration was much better @ 2:11.
