@@justjared2009 technically it isn't and I never said it was illegal. So that still doesn't mean that what I said isn't true. It's a scam because of the nature of how they prey on people's lack of knowledge just like how this case showed dude trying to manipulate the scenario to his benefit for a 100%+ come up. This is the norm here and there are unfortunately legal scams. If you're honest and upfront with people then that's a different story but they usually leave out bits of the truth as to what they're getting out of buying your house with cash or whatnot because they know that you'd never sell them house under normal circumstances for the price that they're trying to beat your head in with. They're often framing it as them doing you a favor and that's very disingenuous.

the thing is it isn’t illegal and bad. her home without any renovations or upgrades was only worth $60,000. He held it until he got a good deal for the land it was on. that’s the only thing he didn’t do wrong.

@@justjared2009 It is illegal. This happens a lot in Philly. It happened to my great aunt years ago. She owned six houses. None of them were for sale, but this shyster shows up. Long story short, he winds up with 2 of them, of which she "sold" to him for $1.

That was my question too!! Did not make sense! I think the father just said that he's giving the house to his son and so its upto the son to decide what to do with it. The son was easily deceived by the defendant by scare tactics that "Javon" might claim their property and the plaintiff reluctantly just agreed to sell it to remove the stress from the family!
