i listened to ycgma on a plane when my mental health was finally getting better and the plane took off during the part in jubilee line where the train comes and wilbur starts playing the guitar louder and it was the most surreal feeling ever

I listened to YCGMA on a train ride once while the sun was setting, it was genuinely one of my favourite things ever. I must’ve just sat there looking out the window for like three hours while the album was on repeat. I eventually fell asleep. When I woke up, the music was still going and it was completely dark outside. Just remembered that, damn. That was amazing. (Also, the audio is on point, great job!)

semi unrelated but i listened to this album when i was in hospital. it was my first time in an adult ward, in the peak of the pandemic over here in the UK- it felt so damn surreal. the woman in the bed next to me kept her light on all night and i had my bed curtains drawn and a scratch blanket and i just gazed at the ceiling with soft yellow light flowing in. i ended up crying a lot but the music 1000% helped, especially jubilee line. once my favourite, always my favourite

i literally had this exact same experience. i was on a flight home from washington to alabama, and i was completely alone- this was my second time flying, the first being from alabama all the way to seattle, and the flight back home was at 11 pm. i had the window seat, finally, and just spent the entire trip listening to music (mainly this album) and watching the endless void of midnight sky. i also cried for most of the trip, which is fitting. i got broken up with in washington over the phone so lol ❤️ anyway i love this thanks for letting me relive my wack experience

oh my gosh i didnt realise how much i needed this. airports and aeroplanes are my comfort place, i love them and i really have missed travelling. ycgma is my comfort album and both flying and ycgma mean the world to me. ive been getting a lot of anxiety and panic attacks lately and i stumbled upon this just after having one, this has helped calm me down so much and i feel so much better now, tysm

The comfort, and the experience of just closing your eyes, plugging in both earphones, laying down on your blanket, the temperature being somewhat cold, just makes this feel like I am actually on a plane. God I used to travel alot, I wish to go back to those days, hopefully I get to travel again very soon 😖 I love this album, it makes me so damn sad but also gives me so damn comfort. I love you so much for this masterpiece. All the little details just make it soo much better. I've been on both day and night, midnight flights and oh my god, I fkn wish I knew about Wilbur at that time but atleast now I do. And I hope to travel soon ;)

// intense plane experience, death mention a couple of months ago, i was due to take a flight back to my hometown, only a 20 minute flight. The weather was somewhat bad, so i ended up putting on YCGMA to try to take my mind off the turbulence. the weather was so bad that we couldnt land, and we were circling for 2 hours until we were forced to land in a town abour 3 hours driive away. on the descent, the bumps were so horrible. people were screaming, crying, losing their minds. the plane was moving like a roller coaster, my phone was knocked out of my hand by the force and hit the roof multiple times. all the while, YCGMA and wilbur’s voice were there to reassure me, to tell me that everything would be okay. luckily i got off the plane safely, with only emotional scars. this video reminds me of that, in a somewhat nostalgic way. it was a terrible experience, but wilburs music made it somewhat peaceful. it was a complete standstill in my life. i didnt feel alive, but i also didn’t feel dead.

i listened to the entire ycgma album like 6 times on my 11 hour flight. i had the window seat, the ride started at like 4 am and ended at i think 11 pm. it was dark the entire ride. one of the most peaceful feelings i think i’ve ever felt in my life. nothing matters but the lyrics.

the fact that i was able to experience this is so minimal and such a small thing is so weird bc it made me feel so good. the darkness outside the plane window with the sparkles of city lights below as i made my way into LA, the cool ac above blowing down on to my face, the little noise airplanes make to alert passengers to buckle up, the warm cup of coffee i had in my hands. it was so nice. edit- flying again this week, will definitely be listening to this album then to experience this again. love it

MY BUS STARTED FLYING

This album is my therapy. I'm not joking every time I listen to it I get this surreal feeling it's amazing. Blasting the music through my headphones while doing literally anything is amazing. Considering how much I've been missing the feel of airports this was so nostalgic and I loved it.

in May i went on a trip to Texas to see my best friend, and i went on the plane alone. i was going through a lot in my life at the time, and getting away and staying in TX was the best experience of my life. i remember my flight home was delayed until midnight, and once i got on the plane i remember turning on Your City Gave Me Asthma, and listened to it on repeat for practically the whole flight. there was a lot of turbulence, and i think i cried a few times (obviously silently, the last thing i would want to do is make a scene.) because i knew i would miss TX. now i can’t listen to YCGMA because it makes me super nostalgic about the whole trip etc. (i’m a really sentimental/dramatic person lmfao) this video was beautiful, and it brought a lot back.

После того как у тебя забрали мусор, а в плейлисте любимого автора играет последняя песня сны всё таки затягивают тебя в свой мир мечтаний. "Эй проснись! Мы почти придетели!" Слышно от твоей знакомой. Почти прилетели?.. Неужели? Этот день настал. Ты уже совсем близко к своему самому заветному желанию. Мысли мешаются в кучу, а из динамиков слышен голос проводницы "Дамы и господа наш самолёт готовится к снижению..." В лёгких не хватает воздуха, а щёки обжигают горячие слёзы... Ooh, I did do this on my flight coming home from a month long training. My last flight was in the evening and it was such a cathartic thing to listen to. My whole day had been going great. Picked up a the last Starbucks Been There mug in stock for my mother at the airport, moved from a shitty seat in my first flight to sit up with my buddy where there was more leg room since no one took the seat next to him, then wandered the airport of my connecting flight with a few of mates from training before saying final goodbyes and getting on my last flight to go home, and had a wonderful last flight where the middle seat was empty. Listening to this album on that flight was the final cherry on top.

I only discovered Wilbur’s music in 2020 so I haven’t been on a plane since. I want to do this now, not a fan of night flights though.
