The Irish Guy takes a look at what footballer each Premier League club has overlooked in the last decade, including the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Harry Kane and Kevin De Bruyne.
But even if he is still at Leicester I don't think he will have played any part there. He is still under the level of Maddison as an attacking mid. And obviously bellow Vardy if he played as a striker
Rodrigo Santos Karius can actually back himself up by actually winning the Champions League golden glove Danny Simpson wasn’t even that important to them
@A very old lady Torres doesn't have a PL medal. He arrived at Chelsea six months after they won the league in 09/10, and was on loan at Milan and Atleti when Chelsea next won the title in 14/15.
Ralf Syrett lazio is an average team and liverpool had and has players in his position that were miles ahead of him at the time. Also alberto was the one who wanted to go. Compare that to aspas who could have been useful when Liverpool sold Suarez and desperatly needed a striker that could score goals unlike balotelli and ricky lambert
Man City could have been Jerome Boateng. One year, spent most of it injured or playing at right back and then was sold to Bayern for virtually peanuts. Gone on to win several trophies in Germany, a Champions League and a World Cup. Given Man City’s current centre backs look as sturdy as a wet paper bag in a hurricane, they probably wish they’d kept him around for a bit longer.
Dean Comr suso has to be the most overhyped player that has ever left liverpool. Doesn’t even stand out in a side where fabio borini gets regular game time. With luis alberto it was him who wanted to leave + liverpool had much better players for his position. I mean luiz alberto is decent but he can’t compete with a prime coutinho. While aspas could have actually been useful after suarez was sold, sturridge was out injured and both balotelli and ricky lambert were allergic to goals
@@beatsbyadmiralz5915 you're not wrong. But idk about aspas. I just don't think he was suited to the prem, for one reason or another. And maybe it's just me, but I still rate Suso, even if he only has one foot. He's doing well in milan, and starting every week.
@@beatsbyadmiralz5915 fabio borini played only 2 matches this season 😂 and 29 last season in all competitions 😂 whereas suso played 12 matches this season and last season he played 41 matches and scored i goals and you say that he doesnt even stand out in a side where borini gets regular game 😂 cant see that he plays regulary cause he's always on the bench 😂 ur wrong about this one bro
Tottenham’s biggest oversight for me would probably be Pau Lopez. Levy refused to pay 6 million to buy him after his loan at tottenham and now has become a 30 million regular at Roma. Could’ve been the perfect Lloris replacement
Norwich: could've had Harry Kane on your books (having loaned him during the 13-14 season) Tottenham: no reason why you got rid of Defoe at the end of 13-14, when your main option is Soldado (conveniently overlooking that the following season was when Kane made his breakthrough) Tottenham - out Defoe, in Kane? not a bad trade tbh
@@AMAbdi-up2pj ok ok Bulka, refused to sign a new contract left on a free..... not sure much can be done about that... A backline of 3 fullbacks and 1 centrehalf???? Bertrand, not sure he is an oversight what clubs he playing for??? Clearly wasnt good enough Aina, again gone to a modern table club in italy, thing is not everyone sold is an oversight just some arent good enough Ake, personally dont think he is better than what we have, not really an oversight as we have a buy back clause.... Felipe Luis, again didnt shown enough at Chelsea to warrant a place in the squad Kdb, agree that he is a top player, but he wanted to leave, so was sold Chalobah, where is he again Watford???? Clearly not at Chelsea's level... u do know its impossible to keep all players that come through ur club??? Salah, even his best season prior to liverpool wasnt that special, even old mate jurgen kt his honest wpuldnt have seen the season he had coming Thorgan hazard, he ain't his brother, he is an alright player nothing to regret Cuadrado wasnt any good in England, seems he is only decent in Italy and even then he is not a nailed on starter or anything special. Lukaku much like de bruyne wanted to leave coz he wasnt waiting around...... Of the xi u put out only 3 are nailed on starters if we still had them (no guarantee of the stayed they would be as good as they are) 2 wanted to leave and one wasn't showing he was as good as he became (Kdb, salah, lukaku) And 1 player who is at best a squad player, who we have a buy back for... ake The rest wouldn't get in the side and more than likely not even in the squad
Victor Moses sure felt like an oversight when Chelsea lifted the title with him in 2016/17 and Liverpool just scraped 4th place. Definitely wouldn't have a place on the current squad though
My memory may be wrong but I think Cacares was at Saints when Fonte and Van Dijk both were, so not so surprising he was surplus to requirement. I swear he got more than one app though but guess not!
At Sheff Utd we've sold loads of players that turned out to be great; Ramsdale, Harry Maguire, Conor Coady, Kyle Walker and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to name a few, but the fact is a few years ago we were a club that looked as if we'd spend the rest of time in League 1
Iago Falque for Tottenham. He’s done pretty well in Italy since he left in 2014, only ever making 1 appearance for Spurs in like the 3 years he was there
Liverpool-Luis Alberto. That was a hell of a mistake. Well, I thought he was crap too, but he’s doing amazing at Lazio (he’s the best midfielder in the league, even better than Sergej Milinkovic Savic and Miralem Pjanic rn, if you don’t believe me just see the last game against Juventus and his 2nd assist, astonishing) and even at his former club (I think it was Deportivo La Coruna) he was solid. Great number 10, a joy to watch.
Peter Gulacsi surely deserve a shout for the Liverpool one as he would have fixed the goalkeeping problem far sooner and maybe we could have gone on to win the 2014 title.
I think Suso is a bigger oversight than Iago Aspas at Liverpool. Aspas where third choice behind Suarez and Sturridge at the time and did horribly when given the chance. He just started playing well again after going back to Spain. Suso however shined every time he got game time at Liverpool but Rodgers sold him anyways (probably because it wasn't his guy) and now he's one of the best players in Serie A.
I think Wenger wanted to keep Gnabry but the player himself wanted to leave. It was mismanagement given that, if I recall correctly, he was at the last year of his contract. Probably should've tied him down before it got to that so they coudlve at least got a decent amount of money for him when Bayern eventually came calling.
Mings was out for a year with an injury. He couldn’t get back in the team, due to the performances of others. He moved on. I don’t think it’s the same as some of the others on this list. Saying that, I was surprised to see him leave and loved him. I’ll never forget what he did to that jizz cloth Ibra.
Fikayo Tomori was one of the worst players for Brighton in our promotion season. Watch the highlights of Lincoln vs Brighton when he unnecessarily passed the ball into his own net.
Suddenly glad West Brom aren't in the premier league so we don't get a mention. Some of the players we have had and lost is ridiculous. We could have had Gnabry but like arsenal didn't give him a chance. Chris wood came through our academy. We had Lukaku for his break through season in the premier. But best of all we had Alan Shearer on trial as a kid, and turned him down because he couldn't play in goal. *Facepalm*.
Man City had Rabiot and David Brooks Liverpool had Oblak scheduled for a trial in 09 but he got injured so never had one also had Coady/Coates/Suso/Alberto/Gulacsi
Don't forget that De Bruyne went on loan to Bremen and kept them in the Bundesliga with 10 goals and 9 assists so it's not even like they could say "we didn't know he could do it in a top-5 competition".
Surely Villa should have been Gary Cahill. Yes Albrighton won the league but Cahill has won the LOT. multiple Premier Leagues, Champions League, couple of Europa Leagues etc...
Eric Dier doesn’t count in my opinion because he was a Sporting Lisbon player on loan to Everton youth. He was only 17 at the time when he got loaned out to Everton and was playing in their youth squad mainly. Sporting always intended to keep him and they did they used him as a starting DM. They just loaned him so he can get more experience and have different training in another youth academy. So I don’t know if I count Dier. He was too young to get regular first team first team football at Everton and also it was good he went back to Portugal because he got first team football in Sporting and helped develop him to eventually play in the Prem
Sheffield Utd got offered £17m from Everton for Kyle Norton and rejected it. A few days later they excepted £18m from Tottenham for Kyle Norton and Kyle Walker. In effect excepting a million for Kyle Walker.
I feel like rejecting Mbappe by Chelsea may have madehim, caused him to work harder plus rejecting someone at 13 like u can’t tell if he’s gonna be good or not
9:36 if Arsenal laughably buys Ramsdale for 30 millions. Only to bench him for Leno. It’ll make The Irish guy look like a genius for all the wrong reason
9:42 I would rather stay at Sheffield than go back to Man United if I was Henderson. He would be second choice at Man United and Sheffield are doing very good at the moment
I think Spurs also made a mistake with Paulinho, he was played out of position and didn't give much of a chance to settle. He has since proven that he is a good player by becoming one of the most important player for the Brazil national team and impressed during his spell at Barcelona. I think if he was deployed in his more natural box to box midfielder role with more freedome to create, rather than being just used as a pure defensive ball winner, then he could have done a lot better at Tottenham.
