The Irish Guy takes a look at every Premier League club's most frustrating footballer of the decade, including the likes of Paul Pogba, Theo Walcott and David Luiz.
@@safe3220 All of them, except Gibbs, did have the potential. Liverpool even paid Arsenal £40m+ for the Ox. Some would even make the argument that Ramsey actually is.
@@danreddits3796 Of course they had the potential, Walcotts best years were 2011-2013, Ox looked good but got very overrated at a point and I wouldn't say Ramsey is world class but depends how you consider world class. For me Ramsey isn't a top 15 midfielder, isn't even a starter at Juve.
@@safe3220 It's quite depressing actually. As an Arsenal fan, I can literally make an XI of players that were disappointing for us (some went on to flourish elsewhere though). So many "wonderkids" yet barely anyone made it.
Just a reminder that irish guy has to bathe in milk, shake Declan Rice's hand, do a 6 hour live stream and film a 10 minute video praising Paul McShane
Alvaro morata was mine for Chelsea he was a record signing and yet he missed so many open goals from 10 centimeters away from the goal line in the middle of the goal I almost had a fit every time I watched him
Deacy Charlie the most annoying thing is that he could turn up if he wanted to. Those goals he has against Real etc were pure quality he just couldn’t be bothered .
Torres was my first thought but then I reminded myself of the nightmare of Morata. Torres is a hero and Morata was so painful to watch. The difference between the 2 of them in a sentence is his effort. Morata showed very little if not none but for all the mishaps Torres showed, he tried and that's all you can ask for as a fan. David Luiz won 2 premier league titles and various other trophies including the UCL
@@deacycharlie8234 I was sad when he left but when Morata left there was a sigh of relief. When David Luiz left I was sad but partly because he went to Arsenal. It has seemed to be the right decision to let him go though
Someone has to hold you accountable... If Olympiacos don't finish third in group B you will shake Declan Rice's hand. If Kieran Trippier doesn't score in the champions league match this season you will eat a finger. If group E does not end Liverpool, Napoli, Salzburg then Genk you will make a 10-minute video praising Paul Mcshane. If the order for group G doesn't finish Leipzig, Lyon, Benefica, Zenit then you will do a six-hour live stream. If Ole is still at Man United by Christmas you have to shower in a gallon of milk. If Brighton don't get relagated you will make an entire video wearing an 'I love Paul McShane' t-shirt If Brentford gets promoted you will get a Pontus Jansson tattoo. If Cauley Woodrow scores more than 10 league goals this season you have to eat a bucket of cheese on camera. If(and that’s a big if) David Silva is in England city by September 2020 you have to lick the fanny of a local pigeon, kiss a dead badger and subscribe to Football Daily. If Glen Murray is still in Premier league next september you have to box Joe from Football Daily as well as a thumb war with Ciaran If Niasse is still in the Premier League next season you have to eat the scarf. If Pogba is not at Real Madrid next season you will fly Spain and personally apologize for getting their hopes up.
Apart from the early hype Walcott had a decent career . He scored hundred goals for a top 4 side ,played champions league for 10 years , won 3 FA Cups .
Jesse Lingard just needs time! Maybe when he hits 40 he’ll be better than any player we’ve seen before! Or maybe he already is and we’re just not on his level, so we can’t understand his ultra high level plays!
Why would it be either of those? Nobody had especially high hopes for them and Otamendi had a decent 12-18 months, Balotelli, Rodwell, Mendy, Sinclair all better shouts
Bamford still frustrating at Leeds, the lad seems to hav e an eye for avoiding sure fire goals. Last night he managed to bamboozle the Hull defense and find the post somehow, thankfully we had someone on hand to slot in the rebound, but good lord the amount of easy chances he misses is astounding. I have to say though his off the ball work rate is immense and we love him.
Funny thing is, Paddy McCourt’s uncle lives in the same town in the United States as I do. I couldn’t believe it when an Irish guy in Tennessee said his nephew played professional football, much less for Celtic and Brighton and so on. Small world we live in.
David Luiz had the talent but not the consistency needed to be work class. You can't pinpoint at clear weaknesses in his game. It's frustrating how in one game he could be great at tackling and giving away multiple penalties the next.
@@Matters2023 lol, he was such a disapointment. Example: www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/jul/07/nani-manchester-united-fenerbahce
Soldado for spurs no doubt about it. He commanded a similar fee to Lamela and did absolutely nothing. At least Lamela has had a few good seasons and patches of form in between lengthy injuries
Look, I like your videos a lot. They were super hilarious and brutally honest. However, as a Chelsea fan, I strongly disagree about Luiz being Chelsea’s most frustrating signing. The guy was dope in 2010-11, he helped us win the FA Cup and Champions League double in 2012, played well as a defensive mid and also helped us win the Europa League in 2013. His 13-14 was meh, but at least he bagged us 50 m. He was back in 16-17 and that was arguably his best ever season in football, excelled as the ball-playing defender in a back 3 and helped us win a fantastic league title. He was quite shite from then on till the end of his Chelsea career though, but at least he did have some fantastic games throughout that period, winning another FA Cup and Europa League in that period. The most frustrating thing about the lad was probably his move to Arsenal. Apart from that, he was surely not the most frustrating signing. If I have to name some, maybe Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah (These 3 for leaving us to be world-class elsewhere...), Mario Marin, Lucas Piazon, Thibaut Courtois (simply for being a 🐍), Michy Batshuayi, Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater. I’d probably pick Morata.
Balotelli is in serie a to pay tribute to his father who died and Balotelli had offers for Dortmund but went to his dad's favourite club although I agree with what you say
For once I actually agree with you about the fact that Marko Arnautovic is West Ham’s most annoying player but just slightly ahead of the likes of Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere and Dimitri Payet.
As a man utd fan, i don't think Pogba has been that frustrating for us. Pogba may have been inconsistent but has still provided some great performances in certain big games. On the other hand, Sanchez was presented as the one to change man utd with his ability shown in Arsenal and even got the man of the match in his first game for man utd. However, he has been completely shit for us. Every game you hope that now he will start giving result and dominating matches but this never happened and yet he was starting every game whereas martial or rashford was on the bench.
For Norwich (cos Irish Guy completely forgot us!), I'd say it's either Luciano Becchio or Ricky Van Wolfswinkel but considering the hype around him, it's got to be RVW. Scored less than a goal per million pound spent on him, terrible return for a striker
I’m from LA. It’s currently 12:10 AM. It’s finals week in college. My first test starts at 7:00AM. Wtf am I doing watching and listening to this Irish guy rant about football, I should be tucked in 😩 But then again fuck school so ima go grab some popcorn
Erik lamela is worth 30 mil in todays money. He's a hard worker, aggressive, and he has a good amount of goals and assists when he's fit. He probably wasn't worth £30 mil then however.
personal Shevchenko was the most frustrating at Chelsea for me, there was the odd occasion when he seemed to be about to start to get into his stride and then it would be dashed on the rocks... also Adrian Mutu, first couple of months he looked quality then it all fell apart, maybe Mikel? The man who was the subject to lenghty disputes over whether he'd been illegally poached from under United's nose and turned out to be woeful....
Christian Benteke is the one that hurts my heart, my head and my hands from punching the wall over and over trying to understand why we kept and just offered him a new contract. Why? Whyyyyyyyyyyyy?
Lamela is a good player, he has got good aggression and on his day he can terrify defences and provide good cover on the wings. But he never, ever should have been worth 30 mil. More like 15-20
Bent wasn't all bad. We were in meltdown when O'Neill left a few days before the season started, and were looking like relegation candidates at Christmas. Bent came in, scored 9 goals in 16 games, and we finished 9th. At that point it looked like money well spent, and i'm sure the plan was to get back to business as usual pressing the top 4/6 the following season (albeit not an easy task having lost Barry, Milner, and Young over the previous 3 seasons). Little did we know what the future held! But yeah, I don't feel any negativity towards Bent.
you can't say Lingard is flop while he still has immense potential. clearly the most exciting young prodigy, even scored against a team (forgot the name) in UEL
You say, LFC shopping. But 3 years ago, we were the clowns who couldn't get it right. The guys who couldn't keep a good signing, the guys who couldn't attract. But, now all our signings and releases seem golden. LFC. Can only level out from here.
