17 Days ago, after watching one of your videos Jerome, I began my fasting journey. I decided to stick with Whole Foods such as beef, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, eggs, apples, and bananas. In the afternoon I’d drink a Topo Chico for the carbonation. In this time I’ve lost 26.5lbs. My feed window is the time it takes to eat 1 regularly sized meal, then I start the next fast. I began with 16 hours…refeed, then another 16 hours…now I’m at rolling 30 hour fasts after eating one meal. Best of luck to everyone here.
I just told myself I was going to start my fast at midnight, but a thought crossed my mind. it said your tomorrow could be too late so start your tomorrow today. and I did and I'm 40mins in so far. I appreciate all that you do.
Great work! When I think about starting tomorrow I think about how next time I watch Jeromes live he's gonna say "did you tell yourself you were gonna start tomorrow or on monday?" I don't want to feel guilty next time I watch his live 😂
I have fasted for 84 hours once a week for a month and lost 40lbs. I went on mini vacay this past week for 4 days, and ate like crazy gained 15 lbs but today I’m on almost 48 hours in fast and although I don’t go on scale until after fast I was curious. Lost 8lbs of those gained 15lbs. With what you were saying in this video resonates so much.
@@aiden9586thanks man, added strength training on fasting days after the first week with minimal cardio and more cardio on non-fasting days. Still keeping low carb on feeding days but allow myself to eat something if a crave it otherwise I know I go into binge mode.
Something for fasters to be mindful of is that fasting is/will become easier than controlling yourself when not fasting. And that is why so many people regain the weight. If you do not change your eating habits, retrain your palate, and eat a balanced diet that is best for your body, you will become stuck in a vicious cycle. For the healing and weight loss to be permanent, you have to change your relationship with and the way you think of food. Good luck to everyone.
I loved the message of NOT HIDING!!!! That speaks volumes to me!! We have to learn to do what works for us...make the mistakes. Don't stay there, note it and move on. This was great!!!!
I keep on watching your videos Jerome, I am so impressed with your consistency and discipline. You have motivated me in starting rolling fasts and I did well for 4 weeks. Unfortunately, I have fallen off the wagon a week ago. I have a problem with binge eating and now I find it extremely difficult to find my stride again 😢.
Finally Fasting and AHA are my two favorite channels to watch for fasting. They both help you do what works for you. I love how Jerome shares his vulnerability. That’s what draws me to him. Also his refeeds 😂. I like A Healthy Alternative Community because they can show you how to loose hundreds of pounds with NO LOOSE SKIN. I’d rather work on not having no loose skin first and eat some of the things I want later. So I’m doing a AHA fast while watching Jerome’s refeeds. 😁
Also my two faves. The no loose skin is also the draw for me with extended fasts. My problem is consistency. These videos really motivated me to TRY AGAIN until it takes. 🤩
im getting back into my fasting as of today. 2 years ago i had started my weight loss journey and ended up losing 40 pounds in 3 months. i was so proud of myself and i felt soooo good! Mind and body. Then a guy came into my life and i got distracted. Going out drinking and eating all the time and i ballooned. Then he dumped me because i didnt make him look good anymore when we went out together. im dragging myself back out of this hole and im going HARD again for all of this summer! I love your videos! they inspire me to get back at it! thank you for that!
This is the channel guys! Spent years fasting myself but never like this guy he knows he’s stuff and bothering my ass to comment here literally to say subscribe to him! Amazing to have someone this good at fasting to watch while your fasting yourselves! Great stuff! Any advice on fasting while lifting?
I had zucchini for dinner myself tonight! I'm really inspired by your fasting journey. I never heard of rolling fast until I came across your RU-vid. I think you also might be a Chicago person , your always wearing Chicago team hats. Chi-towm 🙌
Jerome, you are the most helpful and inspiring person on Utube regarding fasting! Your style of long fasting and then eating what you want, really works for me too!
Jerome, you should strongly consider a fasting certification or join over on integrative nutrition for a coaches certification. You’re already a great coach, it’s wonderful to already have you in our coaching community.
I recently came across your channel, and I've done 10 to 12 day fasts in the past. Decided to try out your routine of 4 days + refeed. Seems reasonable even though the last time I fasted was 2 years ago, so I'm currently struggling through it when the ghrelin kicks in, but so far, I have 14 hours left of the 96 hours. Currently 41 years old, I weighed 280 at 5'11" before starting the first round and hopefully I'll stick to this routine and get down to about 170 to 160 and maintain while reversing my type-2.
While I enjoy watching you sometimes, I can't handle watching every video anymore. I can no longer fast because I have to take medication that requires me to eat before taking it. This makes it difficult for me to watch something that I want to do but can't. I'm so happy that you have reached your maintenance weight goal again, and I hope you are successful in holding on to it. Not hiding is a wonderful thing to do.💜
Been fasting since Feb 21 and jus now hitting the 40 pound mark. One day of eating and I gain 5 pounds back which takes 5 days of fasting to lose . My goal is to lose 80 pounds so I still have 40 more to go , it shouldn’t be this hard to lose weight
I can't go that long lol. I think I'll be doing good if I can keep up doing 36-48 hour fasts, one hour refeed at my 1500 calorie limit, then another 36-48 hour fast. So far so good.
I did 48 hours, a small refeed cause my stomach couldn't fit much meat and fruit tasted so sugary it was nasty, and then I proceeded with 30 hours before I started getting the shakes, a fast heartbeat and muscle weakness. I'm wondering if my blood sugar dropped. I wanted to do rolling 72s
You're such an inspiration. Yesterday I started my 69 hour rolling fasts to lose 28lbs. Mind you I wish I hadn't watched your refeed. The food looked delicious - especially Brussels sprouts [my favourite].
I totally agree with what you are saying. I am doing rolling 72h fasts with 3-4 hours eating windows. For the last 4 days I have been binge eating, averaging around 4000 calories/day and now I am back on track again. What matters in the long term is consistency, not what you accomplished or screwed in the short term, it is very myopic view.
On Thursday I ate around 4,000cal after a fast but it was throughout the day. I weighted +6lb after that refeed and fasted the entire day the next day and gained a pound. It’s so unmotivated
You are a hero. I have had a similar journey with weight loss. Having discovered your RU-vid, you have become a guiding light. I do listen to the other experts, doctors and professionals, which I take inspiration from. But you are just everyday guy like me, I find your story the most inspiring. Thank you.
Man, this is an epic refeed! If you want to drop weight faster, would it be ok to eat a much smaller meal? Like eggs, broccoli, nut butter, some plain yogurt and dark chocolate (unsweetened)? After a 48 hour fast.
Have you ever experienced Refeeding syndrome? I believe that happened to me after breaking a 7 day fast with a Subway salad and one banana at lunchtime. Later that day I had a hypoglycemic episode. Throughout the 7 day fast I had no problems at all. I find breaking a fast to be difficult.
About four years ago I lost 140 pounds through fasting and keto. I kept it off about two years by sticking to mostly strict keto. However, in the midst of a severe life crisis I ended up putting 80 or so pounds back on through stress and comfort eating. I've started fasting again, and have taken off about 25 pounds to start. It is my hope once I hit goal to maintain on PSMF or Carnivore. I greatly enjoy the Finally Fasting videos. Our food philosophies may be different, but I see parallels in our experience.
Boy, i sure hope folks aren't still living and dying by the scale; most of the weight return is glycogen replenishment, which also means a lot of water. ALSO - if you're close to your goal weight, or otherwise don't have a lot of stored fuel, chronic long fasts will definitely catabolize muscle tissue. A protein-dominant refeed that's low-to-no refined carbs, with fiber and good fats, is really the way to go.
so the point is to fast to lose weight and health benefits. Then eat whatever you want with no interest if the ingredients and harmful to your health. Then go back to fasting. Sound counterproductive. i guess i fast 3 days out of work week, refeed with great quality food and exercise
I have been doing 90 hours fast since 25th March with an eating window of 5 hours and I'm down from 135kg to 127.55kg(24 April), but the thing is that my weight has been somewhere around 127 since 14 April. Is it just me or others are also facing the same issue of stagnation during their weight loss journey?? :(
Yup I'm same, I can do 72 hour fasts back to back with a careful refeed and I find myself stuck, still working out on the daily and lifting fairly heavy "for a girl😅" but those last stubborn pound 12 to be exact just will not budge, ive tryed all the advice such as switch to omad for a few days shock and confuse your body, up your walking etc but I've come to the conclusion that my body is holding onto water in the muscles and not to let this derail me. Good luck and beleive in yourself and the process x
@@dariamoon4895 haha, I guess I can make some fair bit of adjustments to my plan then, other than fasting and walking I haven't done anything else you mentioned. Thanks :). BTW does this page have some sort of community group chat or something that is available publicly? Would have loved to keep myself more accountable
I have no idea how you ate all of that. I can eat (like EAT) but post 69-hour fast I couldn't eat much at all and was trying to almost force myself to finish things and get calories in and was absolutely stuffed. Mostly meat followed by strawberries and cream. Maybe I was eating too fast? It's always the case - I think about all things I can eat but aim for the healthier things first but when it comes to it I can only fit in about a third of what I wanted to.
Started last night, currently at 24 hours. Drank 2 black coffees, sips of diet soda and water. Really no hunger. Will fast until tomorrow around 3. Will break fast just because I have tattoo appt and don't want to feel ill. It's my first fast in a loooong time. I've only ever done a fast once before and that was a 48 hour one. Family pressure was what made me break that fast, as I am the one that cooks everyone's meals and I found it too hard to continue. I will start fast once more after refeed tomorrow. Love your videos🫂
Oh my! To eat all of that within a couple of hours? After an extended fast, all I can manage is the salad with some protein on top. Perhaps I'm not eating enough...
That refeed had way too much sugar, which is likely triggering a substantial insulin response, but it looks delicious 😊. No way I could put down that much food (especially that much sugar) after an extended fast, but it seems to be working for him at least on the weight loss. Some bloodwork might be in order to get a holistic view of the overall health picture.
I WOULD LIKE TO DO ROLLING FAST LIKE YOU, BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW I COULD EAT THAT MUCH AFTER A LONG FAST. ALSO, MY STOMACH DOES NOT DO WELL WITH HIGH FIBER FOODS LIKE BRUSSELS SPROUTS, ETC. WONDERING IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.
You can do it. Just do what works for you. I started out trying to do it the way Jerome does but found that alternative day fasting works best for me. One day fasting the next day eating and repeat.
Don’t eat like me. Don’t eat like me. Don’t eat like me. Just because I eat 6,000 calories doesn’t mean you should. Just because I fast for 90 hours or 65 hours in this video doesn’t mean you should. Do what works for you. I eat this way not because I’m forcing it down, but because it satiates me. Do what works for you. DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!
To maintain my weight that’s what I’m currently doing. 65s. If you watch my videos from a few months ago I did 90 hour fasts with 4 hour refeeds for 5 months and lost 80lbs. Now I’m just coasting 🏄♀️
A suggestion; maybe less junk food? For example bake a cake, make protein bars....just so you know what's in your food. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Nuts are some of the most calorie dense foods here is. Which is why portions are usually measured in number of nuts (ie 10 cashews, 15 almonds) and not things like cups.
@@aiden9586nut are very high in fats which is the most calorie dense macronutrient and also don’t contain much water. A lot of foods that are low calorie per volume is due to high water content (watermelons, lettuce, berries, etc).
Ok, at this point, Imma just buy cashews and get it over with. Never had them, but with the way this man be putting them down.... Gotta try. I've officially been influenced. 😅
