Lo-Fi Patches for Zoom Multistomp series pedals. (compatible with: MS-50G, MS-60B, MS-70CDR. MS-100BT owners may need to find a substitute for some of the effects.)

I'd suggest you to use the web editor as it is much easier and faster to copy patches that way.
If you're wondering why all patches have a delay effect included even though there is no delay sound, it's because I'm using them for their character rather than for delay. They are set to minimum delay time and feedback, with full (or almost full) wet mix.

Very well done. I have a lot invested in these kinds of pedals and plugins, but these are some of the coolest I have heard. Great piece of music. Particularly love the vibrato and stuff with softening of the upper end sizzle. Beautiful.

I have one of this little guys and I do not know how a lot of people understimate the quality of this amazing machine, in fact, I own and compare with other pedals from important brands, all I can say this little guy has nothing to envy to other recognized brand pedals. Gear snobbery I'm afraid....there's a lot of it about. Anyway, pound for pound, Zoom have done a great job (I have the CDR) and has capabilities way beyond some of the more celebrated pedals.

Have two MS50G'S HAD TO HAVE A 2ND ! All of the effects are pretty good and very close to what they emulate ...the black hose reverb and shimmer reverbs are great .

Cool! I've been meaning to explore that Lo-Fi Delay a bit more. The uses of this pedal are a little more limited with a stereo input, but that one works. I tried it out some, but couldn't really come up with anything quickly that sounded decent on drums, except for turning on the vinyl. It seems like it has some potential though. I'll give these Lo-Fi Delay settings a shot. Patch 8 should even work in stereo if I swap out the EQ.

Dreamless Electronic thanks! yeah stereo is tricky with some of these effects. I think if i wanted to record drums with these effects, I'd use less mix or I'd add them in parallel.

@@DoNoise Does the mix on the pedal keep the dry signal stereo? Your Ring Mod patch didn't sound narrow on the drums at all. And the Old TV seems like it might not be turning the input entirely mono either.

You may have just sold me on this pedal! I just watched a review that pointed out some of the shortcomings of the reverbs (in particular), but sometimes a flaw is a feature, and weak here is strong there!

Fantastic patches. They sound great with the synth. It's hard to justify filling my board with other, more expensive pedals after I got this bad boy. Endless creativity. If it cost 500$ it would be drooled over by every pretentious wanker on the internet- thank god it's only 1/5 of that!!!

I've got two too, but both of mine have this very high-pitched whine. I tried a buffer, different power sources, cables etc, still has this whine in the background on all patches, even if not using amp models etc. Anyone else having this sort of issue?

I've had that issue from time to time and don't have a solution. I almost only use these Lo-Fi patches with my Multistomp, and they filter out most high frequencies anyway so the noise is not as noticeable.

@@DoNoise Thank you. I've been using one as a vocal fx unit, so i don't have a way of eq'ing it out, as I use 12khz to add gloss on vox live. I suppose I might have to see if a heavy-duty eq pedal that separates higher frequecies exists. I am currently just using a noise gate, so it isn't constantly whining, only when singing is happening. I can live with it, as most live situations are not ultra-quiet, but it's still a pain in the behind.

@@FrailDog I ended up returning one and got an MS70 to replace it. The 70 is quiet. The 50s were quite close to each other in terms of S/N, so it may have been a bad batch. I didn't return both 50s, as I'd gigged with it a few times, and it seemed a bit unfair. Oddly, running it into the 70 seems to have quietened it down.

Many really cool sounding effects here. But what confuses me is that not all of them are in stereo, right? I read that many effects in MS-70 are actually sum to mono on the input. Is there a way to know, which effects here are really stereo? Because I want to use it in stereo signal path. The pedal is not very expensive and I guess I can just experiment and find out myself, but it would be great to know before buying.

before I got into synths and just played guitar, these were sold in big box guitar shops to kids just learning guitar and wanting something more than a DS1. I really over looked this, and now I can't find one for sale in my area.

No-Motion no they're very different. They both have multiple effects available but that's the only thing they have in common. If you were thinking of using the ZOIA as a basic multifx pedal, then maybe yes.

This device is the most controversial pedal on the market today. I have listened to 25+ video's on this Zoom (that were recorded intelligently and in stereo) some have excellent sound others poor sound. Some reviewers hate the Zoom, others think it is a great pedal for the price, and although not a Eventide copy of quality, a very good substitute for the home studio. One reviewer said, I am not going to review it because it is so bad..... It seems to all come down to the skill of the operator. If the reviewer does not match pre-sets to the correct program material, it sounds bad. If the reviewer does not understand how to program effects and effects chains, then it sounds bad. But take a reviewer who does understand audio/programming/effects/stereo fields/ then this device shines brightly. So I will give this little device a try, and if not successful in my studio, I will have to eat the cost due to the massive RU-vid confusion of this device.

The reviewer you're referring to (I assume Chords of Orion) was incredibly dismissive of this pedal. The fact that he didn't even properly try it before completely trashing it in his non-review, speaks volumes - not about the quality of the pedal - but his attitude to cheaper, digital gear. Or maybe just Zoom. Zoom definitely have a rough history. A lot of their older multi-effects units were really bad. But their MultiStomp is absolutely incredible. It was the Zoia of its generation, and still holds its own today! A handful of effects in it might not be great, but most are. And the fact that you can stack effects together in all kinds of interesting, weird, unique and varied ways, more than makes up for any weaker aspects. They're insanely cheap, too. I own four of the things. 😄

I own a ZoomR24 hardware recorder, it has built in effects that I never use because they are not good....so I have been hesitant of the CDR70...but thanks to you I will go for it with more confidence. Odd how some hate stuff just because it is inexpensive. Wish I could throw $500 at effects without thinking, but I can't.

@@PedalExperiments Also professional reviewers earn their money both from views and from their relationship with gear manufacturers so if one pedal can do it all (or get you 90% of the way there) then their job loses meaning and value. If you add to that apparent lack of technical understanding (vs musical) then properly programming a multi-effects unit may be beyond them.
