Drone crashes burns 1000 year old forest down, drones are illegal in the Gifford Pinchot. And high rock used to be a secret before social media!

Hey Tim, nice to see you back on RU-vid. I always enjoy your mix of photo and education. Hope you made it to Death Valley after Joshua Tree and that you brought your kayak. 👍

Was that sled the Paricon Winter trekker? I'm looking at getting this, $70 at the local hardware store. How has it held up? Enough space for you? How has that x trace attachment point held up? Would you move it forward any more?

What a nice scenery, reminds me of back home in the Basque mountains, that is some beautiful snow! There is some peace to when the landscape around you looks like that. My Tangia 27 is arriving tomorrow, it having a windbreaker in its design is great.

Thank you for filming your challenging hike and photo shoot in my neck of the woods, at a location my older legs can no longer get to! I felt like I was right there anyway and really enjoyed it. Beautiful falls. I also loved the old man's beard lichen image because I have a similar one, but yours is better and now I know how to improve my next attempt!

And there was a lovely Full Moon behind you. 🤷‍ This is not the same PULK that you made in your garage? Lovely scenery, I am especially impressed with the long distance shot of you snowshoeing in up the mountain - that's a long way to walk to place a camera unless you have a drone. Subbed by the way and Merry Christmas.
@TimKirkPhotos
@TimKirkPhotos Год назад
Thanks. That is not the same pulk. :). This one was the Paris Pulk with fiberglass poles... I still like it better. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching... by the way, no drones are permitted in a national park, so that is all footwork ;) Merry Christmas

@@TimKirkPhotos ''by the way, no drones are permitted in a national park''. Why not - it is not a National Secret location so I don't get that part unless they disturb wildlife, create avalanches etc?

Why use a cup ? Just eat it from the hot pan .
@TimKirkPhotos

Great question. The only reason would be the pan will be hot from cooking and I would have to use the pot holder to hold it. The bowl was cool.

Have you ever thought of adding skis to the bottom? (raised up of course)... like how ice fishing communities does it "Smitty Sled", basically same thing but reason why ice fishermens add skis is because they pull/ glide so~~ much easier, smoother ON snow. You should check it out.

i run into newbies all the time on the trail who don't carry any type of emergency gear except a cell phone and maybe an energy bar or two... the trail runner crowd is the worst for this, most of those people don't carry anything at all thinking they will always make it back to the car... once, i was 7 miles up a trail and ran into a girl with an empty water bottle, she asked me where the nearest water faucet was... i'm not making this stuff up, it really does happen.
