Kinda haunting that 6 months earlier in the same city this concert was in, Jim Gordon - who co wrote and played the drums and piano on the original version - murdered his mother. He had to have been on the minds of everyone on that stage. They all knew him. He was a drum legend. Wild.

Why is such a great talent wasting his time with such a nothing tune ? Trying to prop it up with a bunch of celebrities. This cat was in the damn Yardbirds and now he's doing this nonsense ?
This is 3 icons playing together and having fun. They are coming in hot 🔥. They are all 3 guitar playing legends. This is definitely a priceless experience 🎉🎉
Pardon me, but who is the guy that looks like some angry manager/lawyer? Bashing all the gongs out of time and playing the tambourine with a look of contempt?
I saw them at The Royal Albert Hall in London in the mid Eighties. I think the Arms concert one in london and this one in the States. Slight change to line up. Uk had Stevie Windward and a few others. I was lucky enough to be in the third row from the stage. It was unbelievable to see them all together.
A Year before Jimi Hendrix, I was strongly affected by Jeff Beck and the Yardbird's "Shapes of Things to Come"... which turned out to be The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
The first notes and I could tell it was Clapton. "Slow hand"? It's like he's in a different time dimension where he has all the time he needs to make the notes symphonic anthems.
